Hi ladies, I went for my CD 12 ultrasound and I have two follicles around 6 and 7 mm and 2 other even smaller ones. I go back in three days time for another ultrasound, but was wondering if you ladies know anything about slow growing follicles? I got a bad vibe from the nurse who went over my results so I asked if it wasn't a good sign and she just responded that they were growing. (They were at .98 and 1 mm two days ago). I was so upset at the time that I just said ok and left and now of course I have a million questions I wish I would have asked. Have any of you experienced this?
I would imagine every Dr is a little different about the size follies they consider mature. My RE wants to see one at least 18mm. Are you on a medicated cycle? Are you seeing an RE?
Yes, I'm taking letrozole this month and have an RE- meeting with her after my ultrasound on Monday. I've been googling and saw that follicles grow 1-2 mm a day so I may not be as bad as I first thought- maybe. When I was on chlomid previously my cycles went to 40 days so now I'm wondering if the letrozole is throwing off my cycle length.
Sounds like they are giving you more time for them to grow before triggering ... so there is time for them to continue on to 16,17,18 - which are all numbers I've heard when looking for mature follie size. My guess is IF you need another cycle, they will increase your dosage or switch to something different like injectibles. BUT hopefully you wont need htat! Good luck!
Good luck- I was told about 2mm growth/day also. If you have longer cycles than you might be just growing at your own pace. Hopefully you'll see bigger ones at the next U/S!
