Help for a friend-severe coughing

I have a friend who is due about a month before me.  She has had a cold for a little over a week now, has already been to the doctor for antibiotics.  Now she has a really bad cough that is making her belly muscles hurt.  Any suggestions I can give her?

Essential oils. I have asthma and usually get bronchitis a couple times a year, and this works better for me than the cough suppressants. I use a few drops each of tea tree, rosemary, eucalyptus, and lavender oils. At night I put them on a hand towel on my chest so I inhale them as I sleep. During the day I'll wear a decorative scarf and dab oils on the ends, and if I feel a cough coming I'll just pull the ends up and breathe it in.

I usually take a tablespoon of honey with a cough. My doctor said it's as effective as cough syrup.

tea with honey and lemon, and a spoonful of honey.

also if she knows anyone with Young living oils, some peace and calming rubbed on her chest will help a ton

A fellow May15ner told me this and it worked well, ginger tea with lemon and honey.

Hope she feels better. I had those pains too it was no fun.

I unfortunately took everything I could and it still didn't go away. I just had to deal with it I have asthma as well. I would take Mucinex in daytime to help because my cough was worse at night due to draining into my throat.
