What did you never TRULY appreciate until you became a mom?

After a 15 minute bubble bath I just realized I never truly appreciated taking a bath and having total alone time until I became a mom and was wondering if anyone else has had an epiphany like that?

I have several.
1. Sleep
2. An uninterrupted shower
3. An uninterrupted meal
4. A bath
I had the day off work today and DS was at grandmas so I enjoyed some me time by lounging in bed and sleeping most of the day!

I wouldn't know what to do if I was not interrupted every time I try to do something! I had my oldest at 18 so this is the only life I know!

Showering, being able to just get up and go out the door when I want to go somewhere, and uninterrupted sleep.

Eating with both hands is another for me. For some reason, it doesn't matter if DD has just been fed, is sleeping, clean diaper everything... When I get ready to eat she wants to be on my lap. It's hilarious but sometimes I just want to eat like a normal person.

Slowly eating food. I now inhale everything, even at work.

Having enough time and energy to have sex! I am always to tired at the end of the day and then we have been so busy on the weekends, it is hard to find the time we have to try and schedule time out.

Sleep. Being lazy. Taking a night "off." Those night when you get home and just want to watch Tv and go to bed but first you have to do bedtime routines and get kiddos into bed. Being able to just make a hair or dentist appointment without worrying about childcare.

Going to the bathroom without an audience and being able to just get in the car and go anywhere, anytime I choose. Of course, my bathroom audience has now become my cheering section. We are working on potty training my two year old DD, so we do a lot of clapping and cheering when she goes. So, when I go, she claps and yells "yay mommy!"

May sound cheesey, but just how much my mom did and how well she balanced it all.

I am the middle child with an older sister and a younger brother and when I was about 9 or so my mom went back to school to get her degree. She graduated with highest honors from a seven sisters school while raising three kids with an hour and a half commute each way to school. She still managed to make dinner, keep the house clean, and spend time with us. I don't remember ever feeling like she wasn't there us even though I know she must have been crazy busy.

DH and I both work Full Time and I want my children to have great family memories and never say "man I wish mom and dad were around more" because my DH says that his dad was never around and it was always his mom.

Being able to go to the gym whenever I pleased.
Being able to sit down and eat an entire meal without getting up.

I miss getting to sit around and do nothing. I never used to be good at it, and now that I can't, I want to sooo badly. I get so pissed at my husband when I'm in the kitchen after work cooking or cleaning or running around like a crazy person getting things done, and he is sitting on the couch. Even if I take a day off work and send DD to daycare, I would still have to pump throughout the day, so wouldn't really have the day "off". Ready for BFing to be over, but not ready to make it happen early. :/
