That is darned funny. TBH, I'm impressed by how much Brits know about the US. If you tried to have Americans do the same thing with a map of England, I think you'd get a lot of blank stares. Maybe some mentions of red telephone boxes, Big Ben, and the Queen in the vicinity of London.

I didn't know "Put your hands up for Detroit" was a real song. I've only heard it during sporting events.

I'm actually impressed with how much they know about the states. It seems like a lot of it comes from music, movies and TV.

Well, they had the right idea with "Forrest Gump" and "Rednecks." They were close with the banjos but that movie was based in Georgia.

edit: I also just checked out Mississippi.  They don't know anything about it except for the river and "named by a cat walking across a keyboard."

I went from Ron Burgundy to only mattering in an election, accurate.

I will say when I was in Europe the people I met were MUCH friendlier when they heard I was from CA. CA > America*? And when I am drunk I slur just enough to sound Canadian, Canadian > CA*.

*This was a totally scientific study based on when people in Europe were nicer to me.
