I slept from 10pm-midnight but have been awake since then. I wanted nothing more than to sleep all day yesterday and now when it's an appropriate time to do so, sleep is no where to be found. So now I early morning TCF...
GOmamab15 yuck! I hope you have enough energy today or can take a nap. I've woken up at 4 the last two days. I have so much to do that its nice to be super productive for 2 hours before ds gets up. It's insane but I'm cranking through my to do list. We have parties this weekend and I have to pack (which is a 2-3 day endeavor). Happy Friday everyone!
Thanks. mladerri, I'm considering calling in sick today because I have a few sick days that I'll lose at the end of the year so I kinda feel like I might as well. I always guilt trip myself for taking sick days when I'm not 150% ill though, so I'm still on the fence.
Morning ladies! DH is heading out of town for the weekend so G and I are on our own until Sunday. I'm trying to figure out a fun Christmas craft that we can make for him while he's gone, but I'm coming up blank so far. Any ideas??
MH gets home today after being gone for almost two weeks. I have a few parties this weekend. We are taking DD to our botanical gardens that have all the Christmas lights up on Sunday weather permitting.

I like the "elf yourself" crafts where you take a print of a pic of their face and put elf body and arms and legs and hat on it. Pinterest or google images it. I'm also a snowflake fan if they're old enough to use sizzors.
soultrane gingerbread house? We bought a kit and we're planning on trying it out this weekend. Other craft we do every year is make dough plaster and make an ornament with ds's hand print. He loves looking at his baby ones from the last year.
GOmamab15, call in sick. 2 hours of sleep is awful so would you honestly be productive at work? I get it though, I hardly ever call in sick because I feel guilty and I always have sick time left over at the end of the year. Hope you can get some rest today!
Agh I'm sorry GOmamab15. I'd also be so tempted to call in sick. That's hard on your system that's already working overtime.
soultrane, I forgot how old G is...I'm having a hard time thinking of crafts for DD because I feel like she's still too little for them to work out....plus mess factor.
bighair12 glad your H is home today! That will be so nice. I hope you have fun at the parties and botanical gardens this weekend!

Enjoy your parties and good luck packing!
Take the sick day! I am exactly the same way and you guys talked me into a sick day a few weeks ago and it was the best decision ever! Do it do it!

I just got to my OB's office for my 12 week prenatal appointment. She is running FORTY-FIVE minutes late and it's barely 9 am!
It's not her fault of course, and this totally would not surprise me if my appointment was for 2pm or even 11am, but I am surprised it's so long of a wait this early in the morning. Love my OB though, just glad I didn't schedule anything before 12 noon today!
Also, has anyone had a prenatal appointment without an ultrasound yet? What do they do? Why am I even here, seriously?
I was in and out in less than 15 minutes last time. I peed in a cup, we heard the heartbeat on the doppler, and we talked about the a/s and my diet (I have PCOS and am at higher risk for GD, I am getting the glucose test done at 20 weeks). It took me longer to drive to her office

This is sort of what I was expecting. They best be getting the Doppler out or else I am going to HAVE WORDS with someone. I just need to make sure it's still in there!

virginiaorjohn, this is how I felt at my 12 week visit! Luckily they gave me a surprise ultrasound. I would have probably begged for at least the Doppler.

I had my NT scan on Tuesday so I think the chances of them surprise-ultrasounding me are slim to none unless there's something wrong (knock on wood).
One of my husband's students brought him a bowl of cherries for his Christmas gift yesterday. He was kind of like "ok, kind of a weird gift" (but of course didn't tell the kid that!) but I'm seriously going to town on them this morning. Best. Gift. Ever! I told him to make sure that parent knows that I appreciate them!

You could do the salt dough handprint or footprint ornaments. I did one of each when DS was littler.

We did these. DD only did her handprint for the painting, but got really into helping put the ribbon in later.
athn64, adorable!! We actually did one of those and reindeer fingerprint ornaments last year. I definitely think that gingerbread cookies are on the list for tomorrow.

Yeah virginiaorjohn These in-between OB visits are pretty dull. Urine, BP, and fetal heart rate check. OB does the obligatory "How are you feeling? Pain or bleeding? Any questions for me?" I say I've entered the boring part of pregnancy - fine by me!

Update! They Dopplered me thank god and she found the HB in like thirty seconds and it was 156. Now I'm waiting to see the OB, need to ask her WTF is up with this PAPP-A protein stuff.

athn64 I want to do the handprint snowman so bad!! But I just saw my SIL did it with my nieces yesterday and I'd feel like the biggest copycat. Last year I did "mistletoes" with DD using baking clay.

YAY!!
Let us know about the weird pappa protein.
I was shocked and so happy how quickly my OB found the HB this week and only listens for like 4 beats and was all "162! Happy baby!"
