Things I get excited about

First time starting a thread but wanted to bring something up. So last night my husband called me at work at 6:30 to tell me that DS learned how to tip up his sippy cup by himself and he was so proud of himself. He's been using a sippy cup for a while but would need to be laying down to actually get anything out of it. i got super excited and when i got off the phone one of my employees was like, hey what happened? I told her DS learned how to tip up his sippy cup to drink and i got that cocked head blank stare like "and that's something to get excited about?"

So, what things do you get excited about that others look at you like, you are seriously excited about that? Kid or non kid related

Tabitha learned to wave yesterday - albeit so far she prefers to wave at herself in the mirror, but it was pretty exciting.

She consistently takes the pacifier out of her mouth to hand to us before she gets out of the crib - it makes me squeal inside every time.

I am also really pumped that I was able to give her Cheerios for the first time today, because she finished off the last of her puffs yesterday. I have a Cheerio dump truck and board books that I bought like 10-12 years ago. So, I have been waiting a long time to be able to feed a kid Cheerios! They clearly hold a special place in my heart.

Aubrey learned how to wave a while ago, it's so cute. She claps too all the time which is super cute too! She also looks in our direction when one of us asks "Where's Mama?" or "Where's Dada?" She also says Mama and Dada, all awesome!

My husband was psyched when our son started eating cherrios, real people food! The dog loves it too

bsouls- LO learned how to wave yesterday too! I was out with friends and he waved at one of them. I was so proud I texted MH. But he wouldn't do it for MH when he got home... hopefully it wasn't a one-off.

With kids I think all of the little things are exciting. Most exciting recently was DS1 pooping on the potty all by himself and waking up dry. I called three people to celebrate . This has been almost two years in the making!

I throw glitter now that LO hugs. He will literally crawl to either DH and I, climb on to our laps and put his head on our chest, hands around us and then go back to playing. He also chases the cat and it's hilarious.

I also throw glitter when he stands on his own. Not quite walking yet, but so close!

Poop, we have gotten excited about poop when DS1 would go days without it and be miserable.

LO stands and does lunges all day long. She's so close to walking...I'm super excited but also a little afraid of everything she'll get into once she's running around. It's not that far off!

I love the hugs! And we have walking and finger foods & sippy drinking (sometimes while standing) it's all exciting to me

My husband initiated sex today while LO was at Grammy's. I don't think we've done it since like October, and it's so much better when he initiates it. He hasn't done it much lately and I hate initiating.

We have those two and then Ted for teddy and car for the dog, Carter. I'm not sure he gets that mama and dada are actually us, but he says them constantly!
