Christmas was pretty good this year. It was full of good food, and presents, and a few things to vent about later. I decided to tell my niece (7) and nephew (4) that they are getting another cousin because I'm definitely starting I show and my niece has been doing a double take lately when she sees me.
Well when I told them, my niece started happy crying. Then she said all in one breath, "I am so so happy right now. Is that why your stomach is sticking out? Is the baby in there right now? Can I give her a hug and kiss (as she's kissing my belly)? I'm going to teach her everything she needs to know. I love her already. This is the best day of my life."
I've had some pretty good reactions to the news, but nothing can compare to how happy it made me feel to see how excited my niece was about this baby. Kids are literally the best!
ETA she also has apparently already decided that this baby is a girl!
Speaking of crying, I've become a major pregnancy-induced emotional sap this holiday. I've cried (happy tears) at least 5-6 times in the past few days. And I'm usually a very even-keeled non-emotional person.
We are headed to my grandparents today for the big family Christmas. There will probably be 40-50 people so it gets a little noisy. I've been feeling much better lately so that's been nice!
I saw tons of baby and baby name announcements on FB yesterday. We still aren't close on a name. We have the Fn list at 2 but aren't madly in love with either of them yet.
My cousin announced on FB that his wife is expecting and her due date is the same as mine! He lives in England so we're not that close but I still think it's pretty cool! This will be #4 for them. Wow!
@freklesnvbrains I have been an emotional wreck these past few days. Especially with baby related stuff. The baby got a letter from Santa earlier this week & I lost it. Every baby present we got made me cry. Hooray for hormones.
sandandsea The great name debate of 2016 rages on in our household.
AFM, we are headed to Christmas celebration #3 today. I'm exhausted.

Andrea tell me about the baby's Christmas presents! I want to live vicariously through you also "hosting all of Colombia" made me laugh so hard, it sounds amazing if tiring!

Dude we had around 50 people in my house. It was so fun, but exhausting. I agreed to host before I found out I was pregnant. I should have just asked some one else to do it.
So far the baby got a couple of really sweet onsies and blankets. The one that made me ugly cry was from my sister and it read, "I'd rather be with my cousins." She also got baby their first book, "What Aunts do best" which sent me into another crying fit. My mom got us the Emily Ley baby book, #swoon, and an NC State tervis sippy cup to match MHs tumbler. Dad got us a big gc to Target "for baby stuff, don't you go buying clothes" he knows me well. Last night we got more onsies and gift cards to buy buy baby. This nugget is already so loved!
Hey everyone! It's been crazy here. We are about to pack up and head to my husband's grandparents Christmas celebration, over two hours away. We will be gone for just the day and then flying out to Philadelphia in the morning! Crazy but fun. I'm trying to pack and run around and get things ready before we leave.
So fun to get baby things...we got a few outfits and a headband so far! So crazy to have baby girl things in my house, is this real life?!
We went to the beach yesterday. It was freezing but the dogs had a good time.
I'm not quite adult enough to handle celebrating Christmas on the 26th, I had to fight with myself to sleep in yesterday and now I'm "over it" and it hasn't even started yet out at MILs house. It'll be great once it gets going.

I am so excited to not leave the house today! It's a wreck and I have a mountain of laundry to fold but I'd rather deal with that than do anything else.
Wow Christmas Eve and Day were quite a whirlwind. DS's fever came back to 103 so DH stayed home with him Christmas Eve and I went to my parent's big gathering. I really missed not having them there.
Christmas Day he was feeling better, we had busy morning of presents, brunch and then more visiting and food at my parent's house, we got home around 9 and all crashed.
Everyone was excited to hear we are having a girl.

Yesteday was a whirlwind of awesome... DD was great, but i need a mommy break. We are all off together until Tuesday (and have been since the 23rd)... So I'm gonna need some time to myself real soon.
Dh got me a Snoogle... It was really thoughtful but IDK that I love it.

It's a Christmas miracle! DD (and I) slept through the night! I feel so much better. Yesterday (once I was done with work) was so much fun. L loved her gifts, especially her big girl mattress (which we still need to get sheets for). She loves jumping on it and flopping onto it. She now answers no to every single question you ask her which I'm sure will get annoying very soon but is really cute right now.
And I **think** I felt the baby move this morning. I'm not totally sure (1st pregnancy) and it's earlier than I expected to feel anything so we'll see if it happens again

I know what you mean, DS has been off since Monday and doesn't go back until the 4th and he's been a big crab the last few days since he hasn't been feeling great. Even though he's feeling better now his crabbiness lingers. DH works all of next week except for Friday so I am going to need to get away sometime tomorrow probably.
The Snoogle started to be more useful towards mid way or end of my 2nd trimester and even then I also needed to use 3-4 additional pillows in order to sleep (I'm not even going to say comfortably, just to sleep). But worked better than not using it at all.

We had a really nice day! DS came in at 6 yesterday and we told him Santa had come, and his little face lit up!! It was the best thing ever. He was so stinking excited. He got so much stuff, but the best was his fire truck. He said, "It has buttons and a ladder and it's big! That's what I'm talking about!" It was so funny.
Then I made breakfast, and my in laws came over for dinner. We took a late nap and then just hung out. Daycare is closed until the 4th do we are hunkered down and hanging out.
Right now I'm eating sauerkraut and watching inside out while DS sleeps. What a life
Our Christmas was wonderful. It was just the 3 of us at home all day and we relaxed, watched movies, and DS played with his new toys. We visited my parents on Christmas Eve and we're driving to Ohio on Monday to visit the ILs so spending Christmas Day relaxing was perfect.
We just got home from an extended family Christmas party and I'm exhausted. DS is snoozing on the couch right now and H and I are enjoying the quiet.
We celebrated Christmas today at FIL & MILs house, but MIL wasn't there. We kept thinking she'd show up but never did. Everyone was trying to act normal. So rough. I hated it. At least the nieces and nephews had a good time.
It's been a crazy night. Don't know if you guys have seen the national news, but there were 7 killed in north Texas storms tonight. We were driving right in the middle of it and were literally ahead of the tornado by 5 minutes. I'm still shaken up. We took this picture when we were pulled over....
We fly out in the morning for PA! Feeling consisted baby movement and it's the best thing ever.
