I do it! My OB said 1 tab (I assumed 25 mg. not 50) of Unisom at bedtime and 3 doses of 25 mg. B6 throughout the day. I have also done half a tab of Unisom at bed and half on the morning before.
No clue on nursing. I'd check with you OB or pediatrician.
My RE considered Diclegis (prescription slow release Unisom+B6) safer than Zofran last pregnancy.
I think they are walking back on recommending Zofran bc it is perh6not as safe as previously thought, but I haven't seen specific studies or anything anything to support that

I've been taking diclegis for almost two weeks. It hasn't completely removed my nausea but I credit it with the fact that I haven't puked yet. I do still gag a little (mostly when brushing my teeth or swallowing a large pill). My OB also wrote me for Prenate AM which is a prenatal vitamin with added B6.
I've been taking two diclegis at night and one in the morning and it does take some getting used to. I actual used a sick day after taking my first dose because I literally couldn't keep my eyes open. I've gotten used to it now. I'm still sleepy but I know that's also a first tri thing.
Re BF: depends on how old kiddo is. Under six months if their only food is your milk, not a good idea. Production is less and it can cause drowsiness and decreased appetite. Our pediatrician said it's fine if I take a smaller dose (1 or 2 diclegis, not 3) for our 11 month old. I only nurse 3x per day at this point. She gets defrosted milk and a ton of solids otherwise.
My 14 month old nurses about 6-7x/24 hours, but I doubt she gets more than 10 ounces altogether. So supply isn't a huge concern.
And the sleep advice is great. It's true. My daughter is a non-sleeper. On a great night she wakes up once for 30 min. On a crappy night she is up from 1-5 am. (My nausea is worse the next day). We need to get her sleeping.
Well not to suggest you drug your daughter, but throwing it out there - it does transfer to milk. If you're going to try it and start with taking it at night, you might notice she sleeps through the night a bit better. Unisom doing its thing and all.
I've been playing around with 1 or 2 diclegis at night, and 1 or 0 at various times early morning. Could be coincidental, but the day I took one an hour before her typical MOTN nursing, she slept in an hour later than usual. I'd feel guilty if I hadn't gotten a thumbs up from the pharmacist and pediatrician. Dosage is so low, and she's old enough to not need another middle of the night feeding - it's more or less habit at this point.
I mean, the kid is halfway to college practically and has yet to sleep through the night. What's a little sleep aid to give us all some sleep? The midwives assure me that it is safe for BFing, still a bit worried about the transfer to milk
