No one is awake and there's no way I'm getting back to sleep. I'm freaking out.
Here's the tl;dr version- DH hurt his back very bad lifting : twisting wrong. It's not the first time. I helped him up and to bed a few times. Now I'm spotting brown when I wipe.
Longer version- DH has a history of tweaking his back. His parents are moving and insisted he help clean out the attic. He was doing heavy lifting for about three hours. Fast forward to tonight when he went to pick up a box of toys- less than 10 lbs. he was screaming for me in the basement and writhing on the floor in pain. He INSISTED that he's going to work in the morning and didn't want to go to hospital.
So I help him up, upstairs and into bed. I know I over did it. So I wake up to help him lay on the floor becaus he is in so much pain. I go to the bathroom and there is (TMI alert)- a small stringy amount of brown blood. A little after I wiped too.
I told him he's going to the hospital tomorrow and I can help lift him anymore. I'll be called my OB first thing in the morning. Not sure how my husband will get to the hospital, but he's going.
DS is almost 2 and weighs about 27 lbs. I will try to lift him as little as possible tomorrow but it's going to be tough.
And to top it all off- my 60 lb pitbull has a uti and keeps having accidents so the bedroom stinks .

Big hugs. I know that this all is super scary. Honestly brown blood is normally nothing to worry about and your body telling you to chill out. Unless you were having bad cramps and bright red blood, everything is probably fine. Def call your OB in the morning, maybe they can bring you in for an ultrasound to ease your mind. Hope you get some sleep.
Thanks. I was able to get some sleep. MH on the other hand, did not. His back is so bad I called an ambulance to take him to the hospital since I can't lift him.
The spotting hasn't gotten worse, but I'm going to call my OB when they open.
I had spotting with DS, and everything was fine. It's just so un nerving and a stressful night to begin with

(((Hugs))), MH also has back issues and it can get pretty bad sometimes. I hope that you OB is able to give you some reassurance and that YH gets some relief from the pain.
Thanks everyone! I got an appt at 2:30 today and DH is on his way home from the hospital. Hopefully he got some relief and can find a dr to treat his back.
