My friend Valerie emailed me last night saying that they were being admitted to the hospital with their 7 week old, Mason. I've mentioned it before, I think, but this babe is tiiiiny. He has had real issues putting on weight and is just in general, pretty sickly. Turns out the poor kiddo has a rare disorder called pyloric stenosis. Basically, his body is not able to absorb milk/nutrients and he projectile vomits it all back up. Val brought him back to the ped yesterday, and when they found it, immediately admitted him to the hospital. Please send Ts and Ps for a smooth and successful surgery for this little guy. They have had a rough road and I am really hoping that this will fix the majority of their issues.

Many thoughts and prayers to your friend and their baby. I hope the surgery goes smoothly and is successful, and things only improve from here on. So sad.
They are staying in the hospital over night- Mason has been able to take in a half an ounce at a time over the last few hours. They are going to continue to monitor him and increase his intake throughout the evening.
I'm happy to hear that the surgery went well and that the doctors were able to catch diagnose quickly enough in the first place. T&P's and wishes for a speedy recovery.
