Hi Ladies - after lurking for some time, I decided it was time to introduce myself. We found out Nov. 10th that we are expecting our second child due July 14, 2016. Now that I am closer to 12 weeks (11w5d) we are starting to tell more people. Had a great ultrasound yesterday measuring right on schedule with a HB of 159 bpm. I loved being pregnant last time and even through the extreme fatigue and mild ms, I love every minute. I was diagnosed with subchorionic hematoma at 6 weeks so that has added some stress along with my history (explained in more detail below).
A little history (for the cliff notes version see my signature). A little over a month after DH and I married we found out that we were expecting our first!! After a fairly smooth pregnancy, I was induced at 37 weeks due to pre-e. Super T (DS) was born in January 2012 weighing 8lbs 2oz - apparently I would have had a Thanksgiving turkey if I went on to term. In January 2013, 11 days before his 1st birthday, Super T was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma - cancer.... Over the next year, he went through grueling treatment of chemotherapy, surgeries, stem cell transplant, radiation, and immunotherapy - more than most adults will ever go through in their lifetime. On the 1 year anniversary of his diagnosis (January 2014), the cancer came back but this time in his brain. Less than 24 hours later, our baby boy took his last breathe...
Shortly after his death, we moved back to our hometown and gave ourselves some time to grieve. We always knew that we wanted more children and our oncologist stated that there is a less than 1% chance for any subsequent siblings to have Neuroblastoma. We started trying for our second child in October/November 2014. After a chemical pregnancy in May 2015, a PCOS diagnosis, one Clomid cycle, and two Femara cycles we had our BFP!!!
So there is our story. Hoping smooth non-eventful pregnancies for all the ladies on this board!!
