Good morning. I'm having a friend and her two young kids over for a play date this morning. I'm still trying to get my house organized from Christmas because I have been so lazy this week. DS has been in such a happy and affectionate mood lately and all I want to do is hang out with him or lounge.
My pregnancy rage is always directed at my poor husband. He can't do anything right during first trimester- he annoys me so much!!!! He knows I was like this last time too and luckily calls me out on it and we can laugh about it... Until I want to throat punch him again.
sadpanda, did you get dumped on with Snow or freezing rained? We got frickin 25 cm here in the East Ontario land. Was so nice to arrive home to 600 sq. ft of almost a foot deep snow on our driveway after 8 hours on the road!

Oh no! Glad you made it home safe! I would not want to drive through that storm. We live in cottage country and had half snow half freezing rain, which made the snow so heavy! Lucky for DH our neighbour plowed our driveway for him. It looks really pretty when I'm inside my warm house though!

My husband gets targeted sometimes, too - but we work separate shifts so he's lucky. We aren't home together enough for me to find something to get mad about... at least while he is there. By the time he gets home I'm usually not so ragey.

As a general rule, I don't answer the door of I don't know someone is coming over since we've had so many solicitors lately (we recently moved). I especially follow this rule when I don't have a bra on and I have pjs on. Anyway, someone rang the doorbell before 9 this morning and I ignored it. A few minutes later, they banged hard on the door. Now I'm kind of freaking out.
Also, pregnancy rage. Very real. I'm about to kill my husband even though he's perfect and does everything fabulously.

That would freak me out too! I never answer the door either and it always bothers me when they don't leave immediately.

One time, someone rang my doorbell, then was knocking hard on my door, I peaked and it was two men I didn't know. I was home in the middle of the day, recovering from a bad car accident the day before, then they went into my backyard and tried breaking into my house! I chased them with a kitchen knife, shouting obscenities. Not my smartest move haha. But I'm glad I didn't answer. Who knows what would have happened.
Why do cinnamon rolls take 25 minutes to bake?? Don't they know pregnant women need cinnamon rolls like immediately after deciding to make them?
This is always how I assume I'm pregnant. I get hungry out of nowhere and it needs immediate reconciliation. Food should be instant.
Hunger was my very first symptom with DS. Middle of the night, painful hunger. It started at 7dpo.. I tested at 8dpo and sure enough a squinty squinter on a Wondfo. I couldn't believe it.
This time I get random hunger but nothing near the hunger pains I had with DS.

Whoooaaaa you crazy! Lol
I acted totally on instinct haha. But like I said, not my smartest move! Haha

Honestly, they probably would've left. Most home thieves don't want to deal with people when robbing so they make sure no one is home first.

OMG. Good for you though. You probably spooked them.
Remind me never to break into your house ;-)
I never answer my door to someone I don't know.. now I'm not so sure if that's the best recourse.
I'm glad you guys don't answer the door either. I never do unless I'm expecting someone. My H always makes fun of me but he's from a tiny town. City girl don't do strangers.
I was once sitting in the living room nursing DS2. He was about 8 weeks old and DS1 had just turned 3. He goes, "Look! There is a man! Oh! The man is climbing up my house! He have a ladder!" At first I thought it was an overactive imagination but I looked out of the glass door and, omg, there is an actual man on an actual ladder and he has climbed up on to my deck (he also would have had to climb over the 6'tall fence to get onto our property ). I started freaking out and I grabbed the kids and ran downstairs and out the front door. I stood on my next door neighbor's porch and called 911. Neighbor is Secret Service and has a very large dog and very large weapons. Turns out the guy was a deck contractor who had the wrong address.

I'm just tired of telling people I don't want to buy their crap or listen to their spiel.
Once I was staying with my mom while my dad was out of town. KJ was only a few months old. I heard some crashing in their backyard and then something like a window trying to be forced open. Then, someone started banging on the door. We were in the living room so they could see we were in there. My mom yelled at them to go away but they kept banging and trying to turn the door handle. I grabbed my phone and called 911 then started yelling out the window for the neighbors who came running out of their home. The police came but all of our shouting scared the guys off. The neighbors said they saw 4-5 of them and they had surrounded our house on all sides. The police spent hours looking for them but they just disappeared. My parents moved shortly after.

I came home one day to find our lawn aerated. They climbed over our fence, undid the lock and aerated our lawn. They had the wrong address. The only problem was that they didn't close the gate- thankfully neither dog got out, but I was a little confused for a bit.
Another story. We have a really good friend and we let him use our basement as storage for a while. When I was pregnant with DD he asked DH if he could swing by and grab something. DH said sure and here is the garage code. He told friend we should be out. Only problem was that I felt terrible and stayed home- DH didn't tell me that friend was coming over so I was sitting in the living room sans bra sans shower when friend walked into our kitchen. We scared the crap out of each other.
