I'm watching my third episode of "I'm pregnant and....." On discovery life. This lady is in jail and will have her baby there for 16 months.
I took today off to hang with my sister. Then Saturday they said she would be at my moms at dinner today. Then it became lunch. Now my dad and step mom are in a huge fight so they're all going to my moms.
I hate not having plans laid out in detail. I was wanting to go shopping and do some chores and now it's all "come over now"

I've sort of looked into doing Paleo before, but I love my grains and dairy. I should do low carb (for my PCOS), but I haven't found that many recipes that sound good.

Well, at least June-Thanksgiving. I've been eating everything in sight for the past month.
But Whole30 worked really well for me. I learned how to meal plan and that I can make really great simple meals. There are tons and tons of compliant recipes online. One of the main goals of Whole30 is to learn how certain foods effect (affect? I never know) you. After the 30 days you are supposed to re-introduce yourself to the food groups one at a time, so you can see if there is any change in how feel after eating dairy, or bread again.
While you do cut a lot out, there is still so much you can eat, it basically just brings you back to the basics. All the fruits, vegetables (including root vegetables, hello potatoes!) and meats, plus herbs and spices (including salt!).
I will say that I lost 14lbs in those 30 days. I think a lot of that was bloat, I was eating so much processed foods and drinking a fair amount of soda. It only took a couple of weeks for me to notice a difference in how my clothes were fitting.

I'm fighting with fedex about a package they say was delivered last week but we never got...the company is not being helpful. I've never had this problem before and we get tons of packages with no problem. It was an $80 shirt for H for Christmas so I'd really like someone to make it right...but feel like I might lose this battle. Most annoying is that they say they delivered it at 10:11am and H was there until after 10 that morning...

I think I need to start doing the workout challenges on here again. I'm always tagged in them but haven't participated for the last couple of months. It notifies me every day and I always feel guilty.
I just keep making you feel guilty...join in with imput for our next challenge if you are interested in getting into it.

All of this whole 30 talk got me looking into other, less intense, options...I found this. I don't think I can keep up with all the recipes, but I might strive for the general guidelines, at least, and add in the recipes I can fit in...there are some yummy looking things that could be good as part of an overall healthier lifestyle without just dramatic change.

At least they apologized and extended my Prime Membership for a month for free, but I'm not getting the gift I ordered for my friend, whose surprise party is tomorrow. So now I need to go out shopping after work and try to find something nice, but that won't break the bank. UGH!!!

jwinct ugh! That is so annoying! I've been hearing more stories like this recently...at least Amazon seems to try to make up for it somewhat, but that doesn't solve the problem!

When you call them, they give you options that are not available through the app. It can take some time but it's worth it to resolve issues.

+1. Cutting out carbs and dairy REALLY seemed to help my PCOS symptoms...My cycles even regulated. I told myself that I was never going back to my previous eating habits...but then came thanksgiving. So...I'm on another round now and currently experiencing a sugar hangover - but I know that in another week, I'll feel incredible! I had so much more energy, was sleeping better, fewer mood swings! I loved it. I also lost about 30 pounds over the 6 months I was mostly "compliant." After the the first thirty days and the reintro period, I stayed away from all processed foods and all sweeteners besides a little honey or maple syrup.

starbuck27 I have friends who have done it and are now hyper aware of everything they eat. They basically eat similarly to how they did before, but with slight modifications. I think it depends where you start from...MH eats almost no sugar so we have been reading labels for years, but if you're not aware of all the sneaky ways it gets in, being hyper vigilant for 30days helps you be more aware in general, if that makes sense? But most went back to eating everything at least in some quantity.
This is basically how H and I used the South Beach Diet a few years ago. We cut down to just lean protein and whole fruits/veggies. Then gradually added things back in at lower quantities than before. It worked until our life got insanely hectic and we started just grabbing takeout or quick processed meal type food all the time.
I'm laying in bed researching the Whole 30. I don't think I could go 30 days without dairy.
This is why I can't stay true to Paleo. I think I'm going to try to cut out carbs and sugars as much as possible and see how it goes.
Try just swapping to better choices for carbs or sugars. Like, sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes. Or whole wheat bread instead of white. Brown rice instead of white. Things like that. It's worked so much better for me than trying to completely cut carbs ever did.

Thanks. If she lived nearby, I might do that, but she lives in PA and is only visiting for the long weekend. I got her this really cute Fabulous 40 wine glass and I was planning to put the necklace inside the glass. Hopefully I'll find something good tonight.

This is exactly me, I cant cut anything out, if I try I just end up craving it until it drives me insane. Even if it is something I never eat, the second I "cant have it" I NEED it.

I went to the liquor store on my lunch break to buy wine to bring to the party tomorrow and was admittedly a little annoyed that I had to wait 10 minutes for a funeral procession to pass by in order to turn into the parking lot (and I felt guilty for being annoyed). But then I decided to check the cooler and they had two very hard-to-get, excellent, local IPAs in there, including my favorite, Sip of Sunshine. I was psyched! Totally worth the wait to get into the store!
