I'll be working late as usual tonight, have to close out all the systems at work for the year end. I want to go see my friends band play tonight, but being that DH and I were in bed by 9 last night, I don't think we'll make it. Plus I never like driving on NYE. Tomorrow I hope to go on a hike if it's not too rainy.
We are going to my friend's house. The only rule is that everyone must wear "cozy" clothing, aka a pregnant person's dream. We are playing games, eating all of the food and they will be drinking all of the drinks. I will be driving all of the drunks
DH and I are going on a quick lunch date this afternoon while DS naps. We haven't gone out without DS in a looong time so I'm looking forward to it but it's also going to be weird.

soultrane, hahaha this makes it sound like you're sneaking out while the baby sleeps and living him alone. Which I KNOW you are NOT doing, but it's totally how I read it.
Andrea, that's probably the only outing I would absolutely consider this year. My only dilemma would be which cozy outfit to wear, so many choices these days.
I have to do some food shopping for tonight and tomorrow and then some cooking, but I have no idea what I feel like. I want to do some appetizers but nothing sounds especially good (nothing sounds bad either, it's all just neutral which isn't good enough). Tonight DH, DS and I will stay in, probably watch a movie. I will definitely be fast asleep before midnight.
Tomorrow we are going to my parent's house to watch some football and drink gin fizzes (virgin for me) then my mom and I are going to see the film Brooklyn.

LOL, I didn't even think about it reading like that, but yes, I promise there will be plenty of adults in the house with him while he naps! We need to escape for a bit though before I go postal.

I'm going to a dinner party with friends, and we all have toddlers. So ending early, home to bed at a reasonable hour. I'll take it because boring now.
I'm looking forward to it but the woman hosting is being a bit prickly about the items we bring (all have to be recipes from the same cookbook--one only she has, btw--which is apparently a fun theme). The recipes must be followed exactly. Various texts today on the subject are annoying me, and I'm trying hard to rein in the pregnancy rage. There's no expectation for dinner except one we place on ourselves, and who gives a fuck if it's from a cookbook with exactly followed recipes? There's no broccoli rabe at the store, why can't we just eat regular broccoli? Rabe is bitter anyway. Or some other veggie? Oh, you'll go look yourself? Okay then, you do you.
Like I said, totally blaming this irritation on the baby. Thankfully DH is responding appropriately to my venting.
We are staying in. I'll make some appetizers for dinner and hopefully I make it up until midnight. We live in NY so I feel like I have to stay up with the whole rest of the city!
I would really love to ring in the NY with wine and champagne...I guess I'll have to ring in the 4th of July that way (hopefully)!
Virgin cheers to all of us for a happy, healthy, and baby filled 2016

I just bought ingredients for three different types of mocktails. Warning, I totally made these up on the fly, but they sound good! I don't like super-sweet drinks, so this is what I've come up with:
1. orange juice + club soda + crushed mint 2. raspberry sparkling water + frozen mixed berries 3. ginger beer + fesh lime + pomegranate seeds
Tonight DH is making a pot of chili, and then we're putting on our pajamas and sipping mocktails on the couch while watching movies. I told DH he can add vodka or rum to the drinks as he feels fit. I also told him we could have an evening cup of coffee (which is usually a strict no-no because we both have a history of insomnia) so that we might have a slightly better chance of staying awake until midnight.
Our football team is in the college playoffs in an hour! So so excited.
We just celebrated our final Christmas. I got a bunch of clothes for baby and my baby book for this baby-so exciting!! But scary too. I'll feel better after a/s next week and may go crazy buying stuff.

We are staying in at ILs. We are having an early dinner at a Cuban place that closes at 6 so I'm excited for that. We fly home in the morning so I don't think we will make it to midnight but probably just desert and maybe board games after dinner.
Ugh, work is stressing me out. I feel like I constantly need to ask myself the "am I being a bitch because I'm pregnant or is this anger justified?" question....
My parents have DD today and tonight. So I feel like DH and I should do something fun. We've got a couple of party invites, but I'm not a huge fan of some of these people when we're all sober, let alone when I'm the only one.
manybellsdown, that is a ridiculous level of dictating from the 'host'. I'd make my contribution whichever way I thought best and if she complained who cares.

That's me except the question is "am I being a bitch because I'm pregnant or am I just a bitch?" I know the answer to that question!
I ended work a few hours early today, so I decided to go solo grocery shopping before getting DS from daycare. It is just as glorious as I remember! DS and I are just staying in tonight while DH goes out with some friends from out of town. I will probably be in bed by 8. Party animal over here.
Oh and soultrane I totally thought you were leaving your child unsupervised too, so I'm glad you cleared that up!
And F that to your exact recipe instructions manybellsdown. I would let the pregnancy rage flow from within you. Have fun!
We're headed to our friends house, they loooove to party. But they are great, and they have two girls who our girls love to play with. Their house is the perfect set up for adult and kid simultaneous fun.
Also, just bought a maternity swimsuit from destination maternity for $20 (pea in the pod). They are having 30% off clearance and free shipping...looks like they have some good deals.
We're ringing in the new year with the neighbors this year. We are so lucky to have such an amazing group of neighbors who have so much fun together! I'm making pizza dip. Yum!
Guys!! I'm drinking coffee for the first time in months and it's delicious! It's also the only way I'll be able to stay awake tonight. Happy New Year everyone!
My husband informed me DD took a short nap so hoping she heads to bed and we get to ENT in the new year together! He also brought home sparkling cider for us. So cute! I made buffalo chicken dip and we ate almost the whole thing already...whoops!
Happy New Years everyone! Been crazy this week. We got a guinea pig so I was working on making a cage this week and trying to get the house clean and Christmas decor down so we would have room for new toys.
We decided last minute to have DHs family over so they are here and I feel bad but I'm ready for bed! I am pretty lame! Hope you all enjoy your night!!

Happy New Year everyone!! Tonight I am finding myself sleeping in DD's room... DH's friend had too much to drink and is crashing on our couch (which is fine) but I cannot in good conscience have a random drunk guy in my home with my little girl asleep unattended. Such is life!!
The fire works being set off in my neighborhood went from midnight until almost 3 AM. I just want to know where these people get the money to set off fireworks for almost 3 hours?? Luckily DS and my dog were not bothered at all. Happy New Year!!
