Hello!
I love to read, but don't have much time for it since having ds. I did get the new Nicholas Sparks book for Christmas. (Yes, I admit I love reading his books)
What are you all reading? Or if you aren't reading now, what do you want to read?

The last books that I read (that wasn't a book I was reading to a kid), was Bloom by Kelle Hampton, Wild by Cheryl Strayed, and The Orchardist by Amanda Coplin. I really don't set aside time to read, and I finished Wild and Bloom, but not The Orchardist. I went to high school with the author of The Orchardist, and heard tons of good things about it (it was also on the NY Times Best Seller list), but halfway through with it, I started to get board. She uses absolutely no quotation marks in the whole book, so you never know if it is an actual conversation happening, or if the characters are thinking to themselves. After awhile, I found it a little hard to follow. I will probably pick it up, and eventually finish reading it though, because I hate starting a book and then not finishing to see what happens!

I give you props if you go back and finish. Once I quit a book, I can't go back. The last book I couldn't get into was the goldfinch. Everyone raved about it, but I couldn't get into it.

lostinfaith225, If I go back, I will probably have to start over. Its been long enough that I don't remember half of the things that have happened so far....so I would have to refresh my memory.

They are so good! And yes, MUCH darker than the show!
I'm about to start The Goldfinch lostinfaith225, so thanks for the heads up!
I started The Woman Who Walked In Sunshine (the latest No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency book) but since my library e-loan of The Goldfinch just started I need to get on that.
I just finished Brian Keene's "The Rising" and "City of the Dead", which I have to say were two of the better zombie books I've ever read. Other than that I've been skimming back through my Harry Potter books. I keep hoping to find a really good new fantasy series but it's not happening. Maybe George RR Martin will finish Game of Thrones before he dies and I'll have that to look forward to.

I listen to audiobooks on Audible to & from work, otherwise I wouldn't do much reading because who's got the time? The last one I downloaded was "What Alice Forgot" by Liane Moriarty but I haven't downloaded anything since.
I've been too busy listening to Adele's new album in the car. This woman speaks to my soul.

I loved that book! Have you read little big lies by the same author? I highly recommend it!!!

That makes me truly sad. The Goldfinch is the best book I've read in the past decade. It's dense reading but so damn good if you ever feel like starting again.

Big Little Lies is so good! And so is The Husband's Secret. I think I just need to add all of her books to my library list.
icaughtfire, do you get the daily deal emails from Audible? I love that you can take advantage of the deals even if you don't have a subscription to Audible. 95% of the time the offers are lame but every once in awhile a good one comes up.
I finished American Ghost by Hannah Nordhaus a while ago. I love to read but have zero time during the school year. It was really good. It is non-fiction and tells the story of the author's ancestors who were pretty influential early settlers of NM. Her great-grandmother is said to haunt a hotel there, so the author researches her family history to uncover the legend.
