We did a Huge grocery haul today. I have spent nap time making egg muffins and banana smoothie muffins. We need healthy things to snack on. This holiday killed me in the food department.
I am trying to decide if I want to limit some of my calories because I gained so much weight first tri. Any thoughts?
Unless your doctor is concerned, I don't think you should be concerned. All pregnancies are different and your weight could be a number of things - even just water retention. You might not gain as much second as other moms do, it's all relative.
I know it's hard not to pay attention to the numbers but try to focus more on how you feel. If you're feeling sluggish, extremely tired, overall *unhealthy* evaluate what your calories are, and not how many.
Baby needs all the nutrients they can get, so try to focus on the types of food and not the caloric number as much as possible
Andrea , txmommy14 , bgkc4 , cattuccino, Thanks ladies for the responses. Body image is terrible. I gained 50 pounds with DD and swore that I wouldn't do it again. And here I am again gaining early. My choices have been pretty terrible. I do blame the holidays for part of it and first tri nausea. Also, not being able to exercise at all has sucked on my mental game.
But, today was a great grocery shopping day. I also made healthy snacks to have around. And a super healthy dinner.
mamrotu73 I love the helping tower!! I wanted to get one (two actually!) for DD/MIL/me for Christmas and didn't realize how expensive they were! (Especially when you add shipping to Canada!). I found a few DIY options I just haven't made the time to make one yet - that one looks like it turned out great and your DS looks so cute and happy there!

Pregnant women require an extra 300 calories a day during the second and third trimester. I wouldn't limit your calories, just make more mindful choices.
I agree entirely with this advice. I have a rule that I should always eat if I'm hungry, but that everything I eat should have some nutritional value (like choosing yogurt over cookies, wheat crackers and cheese over potato chips, etc.)

I spent 4 hours in the car and then spent all evening unpacking and doing laundry after our long weekend with family to do Christmas. Now I'm relaxing while the last load is in the washer then I'm headed to bed.

My friend and I decided to be healthy and go for a walk today. It's super cold so we decided to walk through the mall. So I got new bras and a bunch of new stuff. These things better not get bigger because I don't know where I'll be able to find bigger bras

No, I'm not much of a cook. My friends made it all. My contribution was the salad dressing which I'm surprised turned out so well.
mamrotu73 looks good! I made one too for DD and painted it but didn't put a top coat on it and it does not clean up real well! Oops! But she loves it and says help help
