It's our last day before going back to work so we are trying to get some stuff done. We finally got home Friday and have been busy since with our home Christmas, laundry, unpacking, taking down Christmas decorations, going to the grocery store, etc. I think we have most things done so today is church and hopefully relaxing.
DS has so many new toys. I don't know what we will do with them!! And he plays with all of the big ones still regularly. Last night he told me he was really really happy he got all the pups (paw patrol) for Christmas and he's played with them nonstop.
I am trying to get some stuff for work done today. Also I tried the snoogle again last night and holy game changer. I initially tried it at like 13-14 weeks, and it was not good. Now at almost 18 weeks it was awesome.
Andrea I *kinda* like my snoogle at 15w, but mostly just the upper body part cuz it helps with my nasal congestion. Sometimes it feels awesome supporting my back too. However, I'm 50% convinced that the lower section is contributing to my right hip pain. I also move around so much when I sleep that it's pretty annoying to move the gigantic pillow too. That things taller than me. I'm sure like you said though, in a few weeks it'll be a lifesaver.
I'm planning on going to dinner at my BFFs parents house, she leaves this week so this will be the last time I see her till this summer. *sniff* I miss her terribly & wish she'd live closer but I'm so proud of her she's getting her PhD & doing so well academically.
I've just got some cleaning and grocery shopping to do today.
That reminds me that I should probably get my snoogle out. I kinda don't want to though because it makes me feel so restricted. I'm used to star fishing on my bed. I actually just want to sleep on my couch recliner every night. It's so comfortable and it doesn't make my back hurt. DH works nights, so there's no one to miss me in bed.
Did you guys see that cover that Celine Dion did of Adele's "Hello"? It's been all over my Facebook newsfeed. I finally watched it. I love Celine, but it was really bad. It made me feel bad for her.
Also, did you guys see the video of the dog playing that pie face game? It will make you feel much better than the Celine video!
Well, there's my completely random contribution for today!
I've been running 3 miles every morning since I've been in Hawaii. It's easy to be motivated here. I'm surprised how great I feel after running (although a little sore). My plans for the day are beach, brunch at dukes, beach. I face timed with ds this morning and he is very happy with my parents, but man I miss that little guy. Good luck everyone who is going back to work tomorrow. Hopefully you're refreshed after the holidays.

I was the same way. My husband lovingly called me a flopping fish when I sleep. Now that I am bigger it's a lot harder to move around. I have back issues & RLP so I can't just flip around any more without causing serious discomfort. I now just rotate from side to side. I usually slept on my stomach, this has helped me kinda fake my body out; my upper body is rotated down with my tummy on the side. Also being able to wrap my legs around it has helped my hips.

mladerri ha, I ran 3 mi yesterday and today too, but I DON'T feel great. Maybe I just need to go to Hawaii and that will solve everything...
We did a ton of housework this morning so I'm loving how clean the apartment feels. Going to have some lunch and then go to the art museum this afternoon.
frecklesnbrains go you! I don't see myself running when I get home so I'll take advantage of my motivation. I took a Zumba class with my sister over Christmas and I loved it. I think I'll try that when I get home.
mladerri if you don't mind I think I will just live vicariously through your day. Something in the air in the Hawaii feels like giants weights being lifted off your shoulders.
I wanted to get out and do something but it's grey overcast out, DS is playing so nicely with his trains, DH is reading, I'm not sure I have the energy or motivation myself to drag everyone out of the house.
DH is reading a geeky type cookbook which seems to be inspiring him to make all sorts of things. Last night he made bread and this morning used it to make buttermilk French toast, tonight he's making carnitas, I'll take it, all of it.
Hi ladies! Last day of vacation, sigh. And there won't be another one for sooo long. Oh well, at least this was pleasantly relaxing. I spent New Years with a bunch of French people, and I was inforned that according to French OBs, I should be drinking a glass of red wine a day, to strengthen the blood. Specifically a good Bordeaux. In other news, I'm now in the market for a French OB. DH talked me into making a really big purchase yesterday. I've wanted to replace my old laptop with a surface tablet for awhile, but it seemed like too much money. But both our parents gave us cash as gifts, so he convinced me to splurge on it. Hopefully I won't regret it, I can't wait until it gets here!
I found the preschool I want to send our LO to. I know it's a few years away but I'm in love with what I'm reading on their website & it's making me cry to think of that wonderful age & all the experiences I want for them.
Actually on the first go around, my OB seemed fairly blasé on the occasional glass of wine during pregnancy. She literally said something about the French drinking wine and doing just fine. She hasn't reiterated the advice this time around though, ha. I don't think that most recent study helped.
Lots of cleaning for us here. Took down Christmas because we needed the space for all the new toys. Our nanny is going to flip when she sees all the crap DD got. She literally just cleaned up and packed stuff away that DD does not play with (love her for this because I always hesitate to pack things away and get too emotional). I can't control the grandparents....not sure what else to do besides move! Speaking of, we have to decide if we want to spend another year in the city or pack it up right after the new baby gets here. It's making me way too emotional for a whole host of reasons!
We can't control the grandparents either. And with three sets and a bday the week of Christmas it's overwhelming. I want to tell people 1 toy and give the rest to his college fund but I know that's rude and not as fun for the grandparents.
We did a Huge grocery haul today. I have spent nap time making egg muffins and banana smoothie muffins. We need healthy things to snack on. This holiday killed me in the food department.
I am trying to decide if I want to limit some of my calories because I gained so much weight first tri. Any thoughts?

Pregnant women require an extra 300 calories a day during the second and third trimester. I wouldn't limit your calories, just make more mindful choices.
DH and I have had an ultimate lazy day today binge-watching Making a Murderer on Netflix. So crazy. He just went to get us Fazoli's for dinner, and we'll finish up the last episode.
Andrea, maybe I'll give the Snoogle another try. I bought it around week 13 and only used it for 3 or 4 days. It did nothing for me. I'll give it a try now that I'm further along.
I literally spent the day in bed. I haven't left my bedroom at all today. I'm not under the weather or anything, I just had no plans for today and never got out of my pajamas. My day has consisted of napping, eating, trips to the bathroom (repeat the process). I don't remember the last time I had such a lazy Sunday. I'm off tomorrow, so my weekend actually continues for one more day. But I have something to do, so its not a completely free day. Then it's back to work. The holidays were fun while they lasted.
I still can't feel the baby (17w, 2d). I'm patiently waiting to feel flutters. I'm also overwhelmed with selecting baby gear. I spent a couple hours this weekend researching car seats and strollers. I also haven't decided whether I want to take a birthing class. I want DH to help make these decisions but he's taking the "we have plenty of time to decide approach."
I saw Star Wars today. I really liked it. I think it lived up to the hype & I'm looking forward to the next one & the ride at Disneyland that I know will soon come.
bgkc4 I think it's common to not feel movement yet. Hopefully you don't have an anterior placenta further pillowing those kicks - it's such a bummer. I think it's harder because I know what it feels like normally, and I can feel slight movement but nothing like last time.
Also DH has always been the "we have time for everything". Which with DD meant we didn't end up doing birthing classes. It turned out okay.
If it's something you really want to do - go ahead and sign up and tell him to participate - I think men sort of expect this behaviour because they're clueless (not in a mean way - but have no idea these things even exist)
Hey ladies!! PHEW It's been a long day of travel but our two week of holiday travel are FINALLY over. This morning we drove from Virginia to DC (2 hours) then flew back home to Texas. We've been running errands for the past few hours-unpacking, picking up our dog at the boarding place, getting DS in bed. It feels so good to be home! I'm dreading taking down the Christmas decorations though. Why can't they put themselves away? Tonight I went to the grocery store and was kind of relieved to see all the Christmas decor and stuff gone-that makes me sound like a Grinch, but I'm ready to move on.
I have this weird obsession of unpacking RIGHT when I get home from a trip-it drives my H a little crazy! I'm completely unpacked (3 suitcases) already.

We un-Christmas-ed too. I am always relieved a little to see it go. I feel like being decorated just adds a level of constant energy that keeps me from relaxing- especially when I know the chore of undecorating is coming.
Went to the gym tonight and used the arc trainer so now I'm sitting being a lazy bum when i need to go back DD's lunchbox.
I'm actually looking forward to getting back to work and onto my routine again. The next four months of work will be INSANE busy, so I'm ready to feel bush and productive again and for the next few months to fly!
Just starting to feel settled again after traveling for the holidays. Everyone in the house had a cold and it was miserable the past week. Especially without the good drugs.
bgkc4 I didn't really feel DS until my 20w ultrasound. I thought it was gas until I felt it and saw it at the same time.
I second Dreaming on the IKEA high chair! I also made a helping tower for DS with their step stool as the base:

We unpack right away too. We didn't get home until 11:30 last night, and I unpacked and got laundry started then. I used to be the one to let my suitcase sit, but DH can't handle that so I jumped on the unpack right away bandwagon.
I have a snoogle I borrow from someone but so far have just been using my body pillow I used when pregnant with DS.
mladerri, Hawaii sounds amazing. I think I can speak on behalf of all of us when I say SO JEALOUS!
GOmamab15, I love thinking about the future and experiences when my LOs are older! My DS is starting pre-school in the fall (he will only be 2.5) but I already bought him an adorable matching backpack and lunchbox (Pottery Barn Kids had a sale and I COULDN'T help it!)
bighair12, I wouldn't decrease your calories when you're pregnant unless you're eating way too many-I'd just find different options. I've gained way more than I should/thought I would/did with DS so far, also. Trying to make myself eat healthier. However, I say that as I ordered fried oreos today, I kid you not.
Dreaming, LOVE IKEA baby stuff! I'm not a huge fan of IKEA, but love baby stuff there. We're actually buying a dresser and bed for DS' big boy room there. (It's the Hemnes dresser)
bgkc4, I would definitely recommend a childbirth and breastfeeding class (if you plan to breastfeed) if you can find one! My hospital offered them for free. I didn't feel like the childbirth stuff gave me info I couldn't have found online, but it was still fun to go, and they did a hospital tour which was a bonus!
txmommy14 add me to the list of those who like to unpack immediately. I just want to get it over with after a long trip. Unpack, put the luggage in the basement and wash the clothes.
