With DD1, I still pumped for a while because my pumping supply at work couldn't keep up with her.
When this child starts STTN, so will I, because with a toddler and infant, I need all the sleep. Plus I have no reservations about supplementing with formula.
DS started sleep regression. Joy. If we get back to him sleeping in large chunks, I may go back to getting up to pump. (When I do get good chunks of sleep I only get up once). But I don't get up every night only once in awhile. I currently have 3 1/2 of quart sized freezer bags full of frozen milk.

Wes has been mostly STTN for the last month or so. I sleep too. I don't pump or anything. At first I was waking up very engorged but my body has since adjusted and it hasn't hurt my supply at all.
I pump right before DS goes to bed. Then for a while, I was being woken up by engorgement, so I would pump when that happened. Now my body seems to have figured it out, so I just wake up when DS does and pump then.
DX: MFI TTC April 2011 BFP #1 7/15/11, EDD 3/22/12 - CP Varicocelectomy surgery 9/4/12 - T improved to normal, but still MFI IVF #1 w/ ICSI Jan 2015 - 11R/6M/6F, ET of a 3AB expanded blast w/ none to freeze.
There is no reason you NEED to keep pumping. But it is an excellent way to build a freezer stash.
When my other two finally started sleeping longer I would just pump right before I went to bed, whether it was an hour after they are or four hours. It was really the only way I was able to really build a stash.
DD has been sstn since really early on (I'm super lucky, because my two year old has never been a good sleeper and i still have to get up for her sometimes) but I never got up to pump. I was engorged for a bit but my supply adjusted really quickly. She also nurses super often during the day to make up for it.
Once baby girl started sleeping through the night, so did I. I have been EP'ing with her since day 4, and it hurt my supply for about a week while I adjusted. I just had to make sure that I pumped a minimum of 15 mins every time, and my body started producing more milk during the day. Luckily I had a bit of a freezer stash to dip into during that week of adjustment. She eats 6 bottles a day, and I pump 7 times a day, so that helps make up for it.
I would use a manual pump if I was engorged and then start sttn myself. I also don't care about supplementing with formula if it means I get more sleep.
