Hi ladies!
Just curious if anyone has done early gender scans and easy their experience was like. We had one done at 15 and were told we're having a girl but now I'm paranoid about the accuracy. Thanks ladies!!
I haven't done this, so no experience. Are you still going to have an anatomy scan around 20 weeks? If so, they should be able to confirm the gender then.

This. If I had a gender scan at 15 weeks I would think it was that gender, but wouldn't fully trust it until it was confirmed at the a/s.

Usually I think they're pretty good but my BIL and SIL were told they were having a boy, only to receive conflicting info 3 weeks later. They picked out a name an told everyone and my MIL bought a ton of monogrammed stuff with the boy's name. So now there's a running joke because my niece has a bunch of blue stuff with a boy's name on it. My SIL posts pictures every now and then just for laughs. So moral of the story - fine to do the early testing but don't tell the whole world especially if they're the type to run out and buy personalized gifts immediately

Thanks, ladies! Having an anatomy scan so I'm gonna have the gender confirmed. The place we went to has really good revives and it's reputable but for some reason I'm really paranoid. Not that the gender really matters it's just something else for me to obsess over lol
What's the approximate cost for one of these? I'm not so happy with how late my OB's office scheduled my A/S (long story), so I was kinda thinking about something like this. I know it doesn't replace the A/S, but I kinda want another ultrasound because PGAL brain.

This is hilarious!
I know... My MIL has already asked us for the name because she "knows someone who does monogramming". We haven't finalized one yet but even if we do I don't plan on telling her until the baby is born! I really, really don't want a ton of monogrammed stuff. It's just not my style. She has already sent a whole box full of very "boy" boys clothes (think sports and trucks). Fortunately we have no doubt about the sex - with both chromosome testing and ultrasound showing things very clearly.
frecklesnbrains, you'd think your MIL would've learned her lesson from the last grandchild. I actually am a huge fan of monogrammed items, and I saw some really cute monogrammed baby clothes for sale this week. unfortunately, I'm not confident enough in the name we're considering to pull the trigger yet. It's just too final. I'd rather wait until I meet my LO to make the final name decision. I don't even plan on putting her name on stuff for the shower (or people might do as your MIL did and get personalized gifts). She will be nameless until after birth.
I just think its funny that your niece now wears clothing with initials on them that aren't hers.
Hate to say this, but I had a sono at 15.5 weeks where they were "95%" my DS was a girl. At the anatomy scan, I was really disappointed, only because I had kind of gotten my heart and mind around him being a girl for a whole month! I think it's rare for that to happen, but it does happen!

I agree! I had a coworker who was 100% on the name and told everyone just to decide when the baby was born it it didn't fit him.
