Hi. I've been a lurker for far too long, so here I am at last, doing something about it.
I've been lurking since TD days. I was going to sign up on the day everything started to go pear shaped, so I waited for the dust to settle. Then I was diagnosed with an exceptionally rare heart condition, and a pregnancy that was already complicated went a bit crazy. (I have extremely well controlled type II diabetes, but I found out that diabetes always goes haywire during pregnancy. I also have hypertension usually, but my blood pressure got very low when I was pregnant.)
Laura Katherine was born on the 15th June by medically necessary c-section. We had some complications but everything is fine now.
Laura has a lot of hair and she's huge - 98th centile for weight and 99.5 for height. She can roll but prefers not to. She can sit well now that she sees the point of it. She's completely obsessed with standing up, and she walks holding our fingers, but refuses to try crawling. She is formula fed (bfing didn't work for us) and we're doing BLW. We use cloth nappies.
The last word may be a giveaway that we're in the UK - southern Scotland, to be precise.
I don't have a favourite poster, but I do feel for people who had trouble ttc. L was conceived on the day of our first appointment at the infertility clinic! I also feel for everyone who had a difficult pregnancy.
I'll try to work out how to post a picture of L and how to add a profile picture.
Welcome, purple! Glad you decided to come out of lurking!
On a completely different note, I think it is so incredibly cool that you are from Scotland. My dad's family is from there, and I've always wanted to visit. We've got our own tartan and castle, apparently.

I'm actually from Wales and I'm even bilingual. I've been in Scotland for seven and a half years. I do love it here, though.
Thank you all for being so welcoming. I've wanted to de-lurk several times to thank you all for helping me to stay sane, but I thought it was too late.
Welcome! I love the phrase "pear shaped" I'm trying to think if I've actually heard someone use it, or just read it in a book.
I feel like so many lurkers had 6/15 babies!
I wonder whether "pear shaped" is a particularly British turn of phrase. I didn't expect anyone to comment on it as it's such an everyday thing to say, to me :-)
Hello and welcome! I think the only time I've heard the phrase "pear shaped" was on Sweet Home Alabama. I never would have guessed it to be more common in British conversation!

I feel like it is, but I can't say for certain. I think the American corollary is haywire, which doesn't have the same musicality.

To me, haywire has a slightly different meaning, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Haywire feels more frantic, but that might only make sense in my head, which can be peculiar sometimes.
I'm afraid I don't remember anyone called megron,so I don't know what it is about me that reminds people of her :-)
madymoiselle Hey!!! I have J13 and J15 babies I used to be active in J13 on the old site and then when I came here I kinda lost interest, literally just logged in for the first time last night in months. Thanks for the call out
Thanks for the call out. I've been shy to come out of lurking and had no idea you could see who was logged on. I should've joined in awhile ago, you ladies all seem so nice. I have three kids, DD1 is 10, DD2 is 7 and my J15 baby boy was born on the 20th. I'm excited to start posting here!!
ET remove a smiley emoji that looked like a terrified one!
