I have a little recipe box on my counter...for my bridal shower the guests each brought a recipe to get me started. I've since added things that we've tried and liked. I do NOT put anything in there until we've tried it and liked it!
Now inside the box there is 0 organization. I guess I don't have enough to really see the need to do something more than 1 big pile. I just shuffle through when I need to!
I use ChefTap on my kindle. It's really nice because you can save recipes from any type of website or blog and the app formats it for you. You can also edit or add things so if you make a recipe and think it needs more cheese (or whatever) you can change the amounts really easily. The other nice thing is that I can prop my tablet on the counter and the screen stays lit the entire time, as opposed to when you're trying to follow a recipe from your phone, it continues to turn off and lock you out. I hate that!
I decide what to make every week mostly by what's on sale at the grocery store, or what I feel like, and asking DH. He HATES meal planning and grocery shopping, so he tends to get cranky when I'm harassing him for ideas, but I never know what to make, and it's hard coming up with a weeks worth of meals when you only go to the store once a week. My biggest problem is I feel like get stuck in a rut of making the same things over and over, even though we have about a bajillion recipes between internet and actual recipes at home.
So we just have tons and tons of cookbooks so I dont see the need (for me personally) to have a recipe box. But growing up my grandmother had one, and things were organized as such. Dips, Hot Appetizers, Cold Appetizers, Chicken, Beef, Veal, Pies, Cakes, Breads. She just used an index card to separate everything. Hope that helps!

I have an index card box, then I write the recipes on an index card. Unless they are pampered chef or wildtree ones, those are just on the paper that we got at the workshops. Then there's my pinterest board...
I have a recipe folder that is free standing and has wipe clean pages. You can stick in recipes from magazines (or printed off the interweb) or write them in yourself. There are dividers, but you can choose your own categories. We also have a small bookcase (only two shelves) of recipe books, and of course the entire Internet.
Having said that, I don't always use recipes. I will if I'm making something new. But if I've got, say, lamb and apricots, I don't need a recipe to make a stew.
I don't formally plan meals for the week, but I often think in the morning about what we might have for dinner. H doesn't understand that at all. His approach is to open the fridge and cook something, or investigate the freezer if nothing looks good. This works less well now there is a small person in the house who is strict about bath time starting at seven. He doesn't get home till six.

I have a binder for print outs and magazine pages (in pagee covers), another binder for stuff I write down. Also a slew of cookbooks, cook's illustrated mags that I saved, and an "eat me" folder in my bookmarks on my phone.
We have a binder that has places for recipe cards and also sheet protectors so you can put full page magazine recipes, etc in.
We do our grocery shopping Satruday mornings so Friday night we sit down (usally while watching tv). The first thing we talk about is if either of us wants something particular. Then we go from there. If we need a certain ingredient we might look for other recipes that us it as well. If we get really stuck we'll pull out the cookbooks or the new issue of Canadian living and try to find something that way.

Mostly printerest boards and cookbooks. I need to organize and print and be better. But I just make a lot of stuff up too (simple stuff). I don't follow a while lot of recipes and the ones I do I've made a bunch of times I usually just have to reference quantifies

I really like the sound of this. Can you manually add your own recipes? If I don't have a recipe in a digital format, I am likely to just forget about it, so it would be nice to do that with some of the printed recipes I have.

Just downloaded it and will try adding some things tonight. I also have to say I'm a sucker for a beautifully designed app, so it's already got points with me, lol.
Just for the app? It's available for iPhone/iPad as well, which is what I am using. I turn the auto lock off, or at least set it to a longer time when I am cooking so that I don't have to keep touching the screen.
I use a recipe box and index cards. Only recipes I've tried go in the box. I would just browse the interwebz but my sister gave it to my as a gift so I use it. She also loaded it with recipes she's tried and likes so I know there is some good stuff in there!

Binder with inserts and recipe cards. Some bookmarked online. Some printed out with notations made. Some scribbled on scratch paper. A folder of "maybe, someday" recipes and a shelf of various recipe books.
Clearly I need to get my act together. I prefer the binder, but need to go through and get rid of some and add some new faves in. I had planned to organize while on bed rest but that never happened.
