So when James was about 18 months I had to start doing diaper changes on the floor. He was/is so tall he out grew it. That was about the time I got KU with Ethan and got out of diaper changes with James (HG)
So with my back its really hard changing Ethan's diapers on the floors (I literally have no furniture right this second in the apartment- I have two beds and a pnp and a shit ton of toys) sometimes picking him up is hard but getting up and down when I forget something is 20x worse than picking him up.
Ethan is basically 30 inches tall. Do you guys think it would be worth it to get a changing table? Or any other suggestions? Cause what we were using for a table after I hurt my back is to short height wise, and what we used for both is to short to lay Ethan on. the its the bending over that is killing me (I'm 5' 3")
Ideas? Thoughts? Req's? I'm estimating at least a year and a half of diaper changes ahead of me..

We just used a changing pad on a bureau. Its high enough to not hurt my back. I didn't see the point in a separate piece of furniture. I keep the extra diapers and wipes in a reusable bag on the floor

Also, I got our changing table at a consignment store. It was $17 and it's really nice, sturdy, and has 2 shelves. Might be worth a look if there are any stores near you.
You could do it "camping " style while you search for one.: table top/counter ^^^what katka512 said too... Maybe a resale or local Facebook forsale page
I wouldn't spend the money on a changing table. I would purchase a dresser. That's what I did and it has worked out great.
But, if you think it will ease some of your back pain and it's easier to just purchase a changing table (you wouldn't have to search for a dresser with the right height) I would just go for it.
Many people I know (myself included) use the 3-drawer IKEA Hemnes dresser with a change pad on top of it. I used the boon plastic moulded change pad that has straps which we screwed into the back of the dresser so it wouldn't slide. It worked well for me however now LO is way too busy and won't sit still so I just change him on the floor, as he is running away from me.
We built a custom change table at our condo. It's basically an extension to a low dreaser.
At my apartment I use a desk with change pad as a change table. The tray where the keyboard would go has wipes and stuff. I stacked all my CDs on the shelf where the monitor goes.
Any desk/table/dresser could work, search for something a good height. If there is no useable shelves/drawers grab a plastic 3-drawer shelf at Walmart/Target/online sale. Happy hunting!

Do you have a kitchen counter area that could become a diaper changing station? Like an area where you never prepare food on? We have a separate kitchen counter section under our microwave that just holds junk mail until I get around to cleaning it. I've thought about making that a changing station because counter tops are the perfect height. (With a changing pad)

Tiny kitchen- my only gripe about this layout
Damn that sucks. I guess your best bet is to buy a dresser. At least it'll still be of good use after diapering season is over (unlike a changing table)
I use a four cubby Expedit (now Kallax) Ikea shelf. $35 and i put a changing pad on top of it. Can just take the changing pad off and use as a book shelf/toy storage when he gets bigger.
