Preschool

I can't believe that I'm already thinking about this, but programs fill up fast around here and fall registration is starting in February. Is anyone else sending their LO's to preschool this year?

I actually have been starting to think about this as well. I know they have a lot of 3 year old programs around and just need to figure out where to start. I believe there is a preschool fair at our local library this weekend that I want to go to so hopefully I'll get some good info there. DD has been asking to go to school a lot recently (her cousins 1 yo and 3 yo go to daycare but they call it "school") and I think she'd really love it.

Ahhhh--- I am SO not ready for this talk!! I'm thinking we will wait until closer to 4... My DH and I still go back and forth on sending her to kindergarten as a young 5 or as a late 6 year old.

I think we are waiting till 4 for preschool, but we're going to start trying to make it to library story time 1-2 times a week for socialization.

We plan on sending her to K as a young 5. I feel like one year of prek is probably enough.

DD is in daycare which incorporates preschool once they move into the 3 year old room. Due to the large number of 2 year olds in the center she will probably move around August. I cried when she was moved into the 2 year old room. I'm not ready.

We've been thinking about this for awhile because we think DS would really thrive in preschool. But the ones my husband likes best all require the kid to be fully potty trained. I have a feeling that means we'll be waiting until he's 4 just because I don't think we can guarantee it by the registration deadlines here for when he turns 3.

I started looking at the beginning of January, and couldn't believe that a lot of schools expected a reply by the end of this month! We ended up enrolling her for 2 half days per week. I think she's ready for a bit more structure and intro to academics (though her daycare is great and she'll keep going there 2 days per week as well). I can't believe we are already talking about this!
