I had to take both kids when I had my post partum check. My 6 week old would not stop screaming. I actually cried at the doctors office. My doctor's nurse carried him around while I got examined and gave my toddler crackers. I have the best OB and her staff ever.
I had an appt today, but no scan. He found a Doppler HR of 160 though, so very excited!
How do you all with toddlers manage to bring them along by yourselves though? I brought dd along and it was a cluster lol. She hopped off the chair and was wandering around the room as soon as I was in the stirrups, and unplugged the light he was using! I mean, they were behind and we waited in the room for over a half hour, so I can't expect a 22 month old to sit still much longer than that even with Daniel Tiger on my phone, I suppose.
Stroller, snacks, and I save the Melissa and Doug Water Wow books for doctors appointments so they stay "special" and keep her entertained.
Just got back from dinner with the ILS. MIL and I went to yoga tonight, so DH and FIL made us dinner. I felt so good, I was able to eat a full meal. Then MIL and I were talking babies and my desire for natural birth, and she doubted my stamina and called me 'a bit of a marshmallow'. She also fat shamed me last week for wanting maternity jeans already, bc I'm so bloated. I started this pregnancy at a healthy weight and I have only gained 1 lb. It might be time to avoid MIL until the hormonal rage let's up....

::heads over to Amazon to look for Water Wow::
They are awesome! They just color with water pens, and then the pictures dry and can be used repeatedly. And the pen is just filled with water, so no big deal if it goes it the mouth or something else gets colored on.
We are supposed to go to Cabo next month. I'm not sure what to do.
You know how some people will be bitten by the only mosquito in the room? Any mosquito in close proximity finds me.
So, I say this as someone who travels a lot to places with mosquito-borne diseases for work (meaning I probably have a different risk tolerance than other people might), but I would say that if the disease isn't yet spreading from person-to-person in the country, then the risk is miniscule. If Mexico's cases are mainly people who traveled to Brazil and brought it home with them, and there isn't an actual cluster of infections in Mexico (or if it's nowhere near Cabo--Mexico is big! It's not like going to a tiny island with a cluster of cases), then I personally would still go.
I would not go to Brazil right now, and would probably talk to a tropical medicine dr before going. If you go, I'd also bring, and use religiously, a bug repellent with a high concentration (20%+) of DEET (or picaridin) and sleep under a mosquito net.
