because his whiny voice makes me want to punch him in the face.
Okay, so LO doesn't actually watch tv, but we often have kids' programming on while we're playing because he likes the music and whatnot. I definitely already have a list of stuff that I will try to avoid letting him watch for various reasons, but I want to hear from y'all.
Any shows/movies/games/etc. that you don't want the babes to watch/play? Conversely, any that you would recommend?

Caillou is also banned here! So obnoxious. We also don't do Barney. I'm OK with Sesame Street, Daniel Tiger, and Puffin Rock though (I love the puffins accents!).
We don't do Caillou or Barney either...We only have Netflix, so we can pretty much control what DS (3) is watching. DD just has to go with the flow for now, but she does also like the music.
Thomas the Tank Engine but that's only because my six year old nephew watches NOTHING but hours and hours of that and therefore is six and has ZERO interests besides Thomas. And because of this LO's grandparents are already trying to force Thomas down LO's throat.
I won't outright ban it, but it will definitely be discouraged.
FFFC: I don't think Caillou is whiny and don't get why everyone hates him so much.
The first time I've ever watched it was last weekend and I said the exact same thing! I don't see what's so bad about him.
DS's favorites are Blaze, PJ Masks and Power Rangers. Most of the time I just tune out whatever is on anyway so nothing bothers me. H gets mad/annoyed because DS likes to watch the same episodes of certain shows over and over again, but I could seriously care less.
The only show that comes to mind that I honestly can't stand is Thomas the Train. Don't like that one at all.
We used to watch Sesame Street when DD was around 1, mostly on Netflix. We never got into any of the other PBS shows before we switched over to Disney Junior on almost all of the time. Occasionally we watch Paw Patrol and Dora on Nick Jr, but that is pretty rare.
DD has gone through various Disney Junior phases, but her go to remains to be Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, with a little PJ Masks for fun. LO likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse too to some degree.
Oh and I've seen The Lion Guard movie about a billion times and I'm sure the new series will be on regular rotation.
ETA: I guess I generally like most of the Disney Junior shows enough. Dora on all of the time would probably get on my nerves.

Another no Thomas the Train. We're a Chuggington family. Better morals, nicer trains.
I also really dislike Daniel Tiger and Kai-Lan for the same reason - the stupid repetitive song throughout the episode. Drives me nuts. Way worse than the Caillou whine.
I can't even find it anymore, but LBB's first favorite was Third and Bird. I LOVED that show. It was all about working as a community.
And Dinosaur Train is a family favorite. DH and I love that one. We wouldn't watch it without him, but we save new episodes for a time when the whole family can watch together.
LBB's older, but right now he's into PJ Masks, Goldie and Bear, Blaze (DH loves this one because of the math), Paw Patrol, Ninja Turtles, and Scooby Doo.
FFFC: I don't think Caillou is whiny and don't get why everyone hates him so much.
It's not just his voice for me. He's also kind of an asshole. I don't like how he's a jerk to his sister and parents. And the crappy animation.
But kids that age (2-3ish) in real life are totally assholes to everyone so I kind of see it as he's being a normal kid and then the episode is about how he learns to deal with things differently by learning consequences and different choices. What would be fun is letting Samuel L Jackson do the voice over for his parents.

We watch a lot of Netflix. I once was watching How To Train Your Dragon for myself and Juliet became obsessed with Toothless. Every time she sees a picture of him she gets really excited. SO got her a Toothless build a bear and she loves that thing! So we watch all the HTTYD stuff on Netflix. Also Daniel Tiger, Ruff Ruff Tweet and Dave and whatever is on Sprout.
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is a magical stop crying button in our house. I've heard good things about Daniel Tiger, but I'm not sure what channel it's on. We're usually tuned to Disney Jr.
I should also mention youtube on the tablet. DS watches those playdoh videos or the unboxing and "blind bags", etc. That shit is sooo loopy but I swear, it really is mesmerizing! When DS watches, sometimes I catch my eyes wandering over and I'm like "hmmm what's in the bag?!" or "oooh she's gonna make a play-doh cheeseburger now?"
Side story: The other night I was saying goodnight to DS and I said "night buddy, see you tomorrow" and he says to me "ok mom, don't forget to leave me a comment". OMG... that's what they say on those damn youtube videos!

I have not seen any of these shows...probably because I don't own older children yet. We will occasionally put the Baby channel on and she LOVES, like goes fucking apeshit when the song even comes on, Vocabularry. He's a parrot that learns new words. It's a 3 minute show. She also like harry the bunny and color of the day.

My two year old is obsessed with Toothless too! Her build a bear of him was the biggest success this Christmas and he has to sleep next to her every night. I can definitely tolerate that movie too, its actually cute!
Kids shows DS1 loved were Little Einsteins, The Wiggles, Doodlebops, and Telletubbies (which used to annoy me to no end but I get why babies love them.) I'm hoping P will love those too because we still have all the DVD's for those and I don't really care for most of the current baby/toddler shows. But Barney is the only I would forbid.

OMG, I hate those bastards. Mostly because their songs are so damn catchy - see "Big Red Car"
::::whispers in shame::::: We've seen them in concert three times.
i love little Caillou! can someone tell me why he is 4 yrs old and has no hair?
DS loves Caillou, George, etc but his fave show is dinotrux (netflix exclusive kids series) mighty machines (again trucks show) and some show on sprout that has talking monster trucks.
my least fave show to watch is sesame street. i like old school sesame street but do not like the new characters like Abby's flying fairie school etc.
At the rate T is growing hair, she will look like Caillou (sp??) at 4. Watched it once during a rainy day with my class, won't do it again. He's annoying.
T currently loves Curious George. I actually like it too. I like how he does experiments and figures stuff out. Good problem solving.
Baby Einsteins help chill O out immensely when he hasn't napped all day. Particularly the one about water, baby Neptune or Baby Lullaby. Lately he's watched one everyday. Really stupid stuff but really effective.
Not really watched any kids shows yet except Daniel Tiger and Peg + Cat. Hes not too bothered yet.
I'll have to try that. If I'm really desperate and J is having a meltdown, I cross my fingers that Chica is on Sprout. He loves that little chicken.

I turn the lullaby one on my phone during the night if LO won't go back to sleep. I prop it up just out of his reach. It has been a life saver. No regrets.
