For those of us still here... what cute/weird/annoying/endearing quirks does your babe have while nursing these days?
X likes to rub my hair over his nose while nursing if he's sleepy.
If it's a wakeful feed, he's started to get into strange positions so he doesn't have to miss one.second. of playing while nursing. On, suck, off, play, on, suck, repeat. He also grabs earrings and sticks his fingers in my mouth or up my nose. I don't love that as much.
Lu is also a vigorous nurser lately. She twists around, checks on stuff, keeps eating... and if she has to pop off for some reason she puts her hand over my nipple just to make sure nobody else sneaks in and grabs it 😂 We are also still in the clawing and slapping and pinching phase. I don't love that part as much.
Sometimes when S is falling asleep for the night while nursing she will play with her hair with her top hand. She loves to pinch the skin right next to her mouth, especially if she has long nails.

L does this too and it killlllls. Not cool. She gets the tiniest bit of skin right between her little razor sharp nails. 😫

We are mostly pumping at this point but I am trying to nurse once a day for selfish reasons. Last night g kept popping off to see the tv, and then remember she was nursing and turn back really quick to make sure the boob was still there. Haha. She also likes clapping on my boob and when it is almost empty she will put her hand high on my chest and move it closer to her mouth almost like she is trying to squeeze every last drop out.

N likes to twirl his hair hair and sometimes cover his eye if he's tired. It's cute!
I hope this is just temporary because my period is due any day but my supply sucks lately. I'm getting worried bc he's hungry at bedtime but there's clearly nothing there. And still resounding no to bottle/cup/straw whatever which is too bad bc theres a freezer full of milk. I've never met anybody so stubborn in my life.
auchick913 keep trying the bottle or sippy. Every. Single. Day. L refused one for a long time, after taking it when she was little. It was horrible and stressful and she used to scream because she was hungry while I was at work. But after a while (honestly, months) she took it again. Eventually he will He will not be EBF in kindergarten so he has to start somewhere (even if it feels like he might be right now). And also, my supply always dips dramatically pre period. I've never needed to pump to get it up but hydrate and eat some oatmeal
DS will go 7-8 hours overnight on a good night. Though after that it's usually every 2 hours. During the day it varies widely from 2-5 hours, although on the low end I suspect he's either bored or comfort nursing
W has cut way back on daytime feedings. Before crawling it was every 2-3 hours still. Now it's like 3-5 hours. Normal?
Nighttime is anywhere from 2-4 hours 😩
Yes, I'm sure it's fine. He's too busy to stop and eat now. If you wanted to try and get away from night nursing you could try and get him on a schedule to get as much nursing in during the day as possible.

Maybe I'll try every 2-3 hours daytime for a few days and see if it makes a difference.

This is us too Maybe 3 hours during the day but she doesn't really ask. I have to remember to offer. She remembers overnight though... I'm trying to not even consider going in unless it's been 4+ hours. It's not going well.

Yeah when DS was doing that overnight I sent MH in instead, sometimes it worked, sometimes he knew what he wanted and was prepared to scream until boob was produced. Good luck, it's so tough when they're upset
N has been wanting to nurse every 2-2.5 hrs during the day lately...In the afternoon it's even every hour. I gather it's bc my supply sucks but he's still mostly refusing supplementation; I think he took 1/2 oz one time. He's not crawling though and hasn't woken at night for a long time (I'd almost him rather nurse some at night so he wouldn't be so hungry during the day. Feel like I can't go anywhere)

How is he doing with solids?
That's part of the problem. His appetite is voracious after he has a good cleanout so he eats a ton of solids and gradually gets backed up enough to where he doesn't want to eat hardly anything until his next cleanout. This is despite daily serving of prunes. I think that's why my supply tanked too bc he was backed up for a while this time.

Maybe try mixing probiotic powder in with some purees to see if that helps, or activia yogurt (suggested by S's pedi).
