Hi guys!
I think a formal update monthly and informal in between makes sense. I'm always impressed with everyone's efforts who run the check-ins.
I had my saline sonogram, mock transfer, and a Doppler ultrasound today. Everything looked great. We also met with the genetics counselor so we have some decisions to make there about the embryo testing. So now just waiting for my next cycle to get going. I should get a calendar and a meds list between now and then to keep me busy with researching.
I'm mobile so no tagging today but I'm thinking of you guys and sending my love tits.
After almost three years of TTC, IVF #1 = Menopur + Follistim + other stuff. Retrieved 14, 12 mature, 7 fertilized, only 1 (6AA) made it to day 5 blast. BFP! DD born 12-10-2016
XP: Just got back from my baseline at the RE. We decided to do our first injectable IUI this cycle with Follistim. I'm nervous about the shots but I've been doing better with the Ovidrel so hopefully it's NBD. The RE said our chances are about 18%, compared to the 20% for an average fertile couple. If I get pregnant, there's a 20% chance of multiples. Not gonna lie, I'm a little scared about that.
akraus2015 GL on your BW results and congrats on taking the first step with the adoption process! jense927 I'm sorry you're having a rough day and have to wait so long for an RE appointment :-( mustloveerica Have fun in Mexico and GL on the SA results ! peaseblossom55 yikes!!!! I pass out easily, maybe it was nerves ? daisy818 Congrats again on the great HSG results!! wannabmama Best wishes on the decision making, that is hard but hopefully you and H can reach a comfortable decision soon. rooskie GL at your RE appt tomorrow! kawaiikitsune Bleh CD1.. But hopefully you can get the hysteroscopy scheduled soon. teachermomtobe I'm so happy you guys have a plan you're comfortable with! goldenlove3 Good luck! easilyunamused GL with testing this cycle!
Thank you all for well wishes last week!! We had three good follies (20.5 on L, 20.5 and 18.5 on R) PLUS good lining (9.7 triple stripe) which was surprising bc last cycle I had to take estradiol. We had (our 1st) IUIs yesterday and today, Hs results were good and we had no issues! (54mil post wash and 37 million post wash). So now we wait.. fun. The IUI for some reason did hurt a little when he used the speculum but all in all not as bad as I thought it'd be.
I think every RE's office is different on what they do as part of the consult. Mine was not just talking, I had a date with a dildo cam followed by a talking consult.
The $375-$450 price range is actually probably not too outdated because I believe that is what ours would have been $400 if we didn't have insurance that covered IF.
as long as it's more than paper work, talking and making a new appointment to get started, I don't mind that as much. But it's a hard one to swallow for just talking and then having to make another appointment to decided tests and such.
I'll find out, soon as a man up and make an appointment.
I think after insurance, we paid around $160. It was very uneventful and all we did was talk to the RE for about 15 minutes and then the new patient coordinator for about 10 mins to go over what our insurance did and did not cover. I wish we had done something else as far as testing goes, but I tried not to dwell on it. Just throwing cash out the window IMO. IF is a money sucker.

mustloveerica, Have a great vacation! I'm jealous! goldenlove3, FX for you! easilyunamused, GL with your HSG. I was prepared for the worst and it really was not as bad as I told myself it would be. Everyone is different but hopefully yours isn't too bad either. snakefisherbub, *hugs* ******, We were fortunate and our insurance covered our consult but I just looked and insurance was billed $451 for the appt. At our 1st appt we had already had some tests done which the RE reviewed before we stepped into her office so it was a quick appt but she started off the convo with an immediate plan and the ball started rolling that day. daisy818, My RE's waiting room experience is similar to yours. Annoying! babycowbell, glad everything went well! dke2010, FX that this is your cycle! kleigh, My IUIs have hurt more than I expected also. Sorry yours hurt but FX this is it for you!

Ours was like a brief overview of our TTC history. The RE barely glanced at the charts I had so painstakingly printed out. She spent some time explaining the HSG and the different blood tests and that was about it. The whole appointment was about 20 minutes. Fuck IF. Hits you in the feels and the wallet.
{Click here to see more.}akraus2015, I hope that they are able to figure out whether you have an autoimmune disease or not. And glad that adoption may be another option for you. jense927, Good luck with your SHG. And I'm sorry for your sis's comment. Sometimes even people who know... well, don't know. They just don't get it. mustloveerica, I hope DH's SA is good. And that you can have your own baby coming when your SIL get's pregnant with a 2nd. peaseblossom55, I hope you like acupuncture! I want to try it too! daisy818, Yay for clear tubes! Boo for pain. wannabmama, I know whatever decision you make will be the right one for you guys. rooskie, hugs hugs hugs. Good luck at the RE tomorrow. I also have a bunch of pregnancy tests that I need to throw away and it makes me super sad. kawaiikitsune, it feels weird to say this, but hope AF comes soon so you can get this show on the road! teachermomtobe, yay for a new plan! Rama, squishy hugs for you. goldenlove3, fx for an amazing embie to transfer! easilyunamused, good luck with your HSG! snakefisherbub, hugs. You know what's best for you, but I do hope you can find an RE that you will be comfortable with. ******, it's hard to guess RE consult costs because insurance varies so much. Even within the same companies. I have amazing insurance (extremely fucking lucky) and I only pay a regular $25 copay. @wallflwr926, if being in the doc's office all February means working on Walliebabies, then by all means go for it! babycowbell so exciting that everything is getting into motion! dke2010, I'm sorry that the latest IUI was a bust, but hoping that injectables is the way to go. kleigh, glad your IUI went well. FX!
Not much happening here, just waiting for AF to come so that I can get this show on the road. I ugly cried reading the Target Ad yesterday once I noticed I had seen their Big Baby Sale 3 years in a row. Fun times. I think I ovulated late, which annoys me because now I have no idea when I will be getting AF.
I do however have two sort of random questions:
Question 1: Has anyone ever heard that probiotics help with CM? I have sort of a lack of it. A couple weeks ago my psych suggested I take one for an interesting side approach for anxiety. (I'm taking meds too, so it's not all woo.) I figured it couldn't hurt but when I went to the health store all of the ones for women were for vaginal care. (which was a fun adventure in itself lol) Anyway, long story short, once I started taking it I had amazing egg white CM like I've never seen before. I can't think of anything else that could have affected it.
Question 2: Do those of you who get IUIs still temp? I want to, but will it stress me out more?
akraus2015 Welcome! Best of luck getting your testing done! jense927 Welcome! Sorry for your sisters loss and her insensitive comment. IF and loss suck, no matter which way you look at it. Good luck with your SHG and TFAS! mustloveerica Congrats on the new nephew! I'm going to Cancun in April (one of the Palace Resorts). Have a fun and safe trip! peaseblossom55 I got an adrenaline rushe the first few times I did my trigger shot and I'm surprised I didn't end up passing out myself. Hopefully you get the hang of it soon. Good luck! daisy818 Yay for clear tubes!! wannabmama Good luck making a decision! If money wasn't an issue, I'd probably go right to IVF. rooskie Good luck! ::hugs:: kawaiikitsune Hope CD1 comes soon so you can schedule your hysteroscopy! teachermomtobe I hope Femara does the trick for you! Rama ::hugs:: I hope you get off the bench soon! butlerfan Best of luck at your appointment! ::hugs:: goldenlove3 I got my fingers and toes all crossed for you and your little embies! So many positive vibes coming your way! easilyunamused Good luck with your testing! The HSG isn't too bad… Just take some ibuprofen beforehand and try to relax! snakefisherbub Big, squishy hugs coming your way! ****** Do you have insurance or are you totally OOP? My insurance doesn't cover treatments, just testing, but they did cover the cost of the consult. Hopefully that's the case for you too! @wallflwr926 Yayyyy for insurance!! babycowbell Glad everything went well and I hope your cycle starts soon! dke2010 FX for you this cycle! kleigh Good luck!
AFM, I'm on CD3 of another natural cycle. I emailed my RE's clinic two weeks ago about getting B/W done and switching REs and still have not received a response. Now I'm kind of wishing I never sent that email and just had the conversation face to face like a normal person. I have an ob/gyn appointment in February so I'm just going to ask him if he'll order the B/W for me instead. If all is well then I'll probably do IUI #4 in the spring.
TTC #1 since August 2013 DX: Endo November 2014: Hysteroscopy, D&C June - September 2015: Clomid + Novarel + IUI #1-3 January 2017: Laparoscopy - endo removed

setsuna17, I temped for my first IUI but then stopped because I was so heavily medicated (Clomid, trigger, progesterone) that my chart looked pretty but didn't actually mean anything since it was all due to medication. Last month I didn't temp but recorded info in FF and entered O manually and it felt very freeing. Just my 2 cents.

That's what I was thinking. That the meds might make it all crazy.
lilsneezy 100% OOP. Anything coded as IF is denied by the insurance. I guess they might could work something out if the doc did other things besides fertility stuff but only 1 doc in the whole practice is covered for normal gyn stuff so I doubt anything will be covered.
That sucks, I'm sorry. IF is unfair in so many ways. Sending you hugs!

I will have to get to a computer to vote and tag better.
AFM, CD1 should be today or tomorrow. So I guess this week we will be seeing the RE and hopefully making some decisions. We have also been looking into adoption. The process seems a little difficult here, we're trying to figure it all out.
{Click here to see more.}akraus2015 - welcome though I'm sorry you find yourself here! Please join us on the Adoption and Foster Care board if you have any questions. There are a lot of women there that have pursued domestic infant adoption. jense927 - welcome though I'm sorry your find yourself here! FX your SHG goes smoothly this week. mustloveerica - I hope YH's SA results come in soon. Have a wonderful vacation!!!! peaseblossom55 - hope you are able to become more comfortable with injections in the coming days/weeks! daisy818 - yay for both tubes being open!!!! wannabmama - good luck with your IUI vs IVF decision. When do you need to decide by? rooskie - hope your RE appointment goes well tomorrow. teachermomtobe - hope you're able to have success with Femara! Rama - FX you can get off that bench soon! goldenlove3 - yay for your 2 embryos and FX those other 5 are ready to freeze tomorrow! easilyunamused - hope your appointment goes well tomorrow! babycowbell - good luck with everything as you begin IVF prep! dke2010 - good luck with your first injectible IUI! kleigh - those are all great numbers for your IUIs! FX for you this cycle! lilsneezy - hope everything works out for you to do IUI #4 this spring!
AFM, nothing exciting going on here. I'm 5DPO in another natural cycle. We've all been sick with a stomach bug for the last couple days, so I'm just happy that that happened after my FW...
Question 2: Do those of you who get IUIs still temp? I want to, but will it stress me out more?
I've continued to temp through all my medicated cycles (Letrozole+Ovidrel+IUI) and I've seen a clear temp shift two days from the trigger shot each time. I'm going to temp this cycle (adding Follistim) and see what happens.
Hi guys. I had er yesterday. They got 19, all 19 were mature, and 17 fertilized. We're currently planning on a Friday transfer. I'm so excited, you guys.

That's awesome! Congrats! FX for a good transfer on Friday!
cateyes – thank you for the check in akraus2015 & jense927 – Sorry you are joining us. mustloveerica – FX for the SA results. peaseblossom55 – You’ll have to let us know how the acupuncture goes. daisy818 – Congrats on open tubes. FX for the next 6 months! wannabmama – I know your timeline is tough, but could you take another natural cycle if you aren’t sure if you want to go with IVF or IUI? kawaiikitsune – good luck with your hysteroscopy. teachermomtobe – good luck with Femera Rama - *hugs* Hope you can burn the bench soon. butlerfan – good luck with the appointment with the new RE. I think giving us the % chances of everything really is making it click – which options we should take. goldenlove3 – FX those embabies grow, grow, grow! easilyunamused – good luck with the dildo cam. Just wear comfortable clothes for after the HSG and take those advil! snakefisherbub - *Hugs* @wallflwr926 – Yay insurance! babycowbell – glad your saline sonogram and mock transfer went well. dke2010 – FX for the follistim. kleigh – FX for the IUI – sounds like it went great. setsuna17 - *hugs* . I do take a probiotic daily, but I also drink a ton of water (80oz+ daily) so not sure if it effects my cm. lilsneezy – good luck getting the RE straightened out. As I have said, my GYN did my initial testing. Evelyn3 - *hugs* and good luck working through decisions. ceejay – feel better soon! piccyami – Yay on 17 fertilized! Good luck with your transfer!!
ceejay we have to let them know if we are doing IVF by cd1, which will be Feb. 5 or so. rooskie if we do IUI, we will have one more natural cycle first just bc of the timing since we'll be out of town during FW. This natural cycle has been fun it is tempting to do one more...but then if it doesn't work and IUI doesn't work, we're looking at late summer probably for IVF. I'd also need all my testing over again, it expires in May. I'm leaning toward IVF just bc of the timing issues, but am not all the way there yet.
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!

goldenlove3 - Crossing everything you get several embies for transfer! easilyunamused - GL with your testing! MY HSG was a breeze. Some period-like cramping afterwards but nothing ibuprofen couldn't handle. Stay away from Google. snakefisherbub - All the hugs. babycowbell - Glad everything went well and things look great for you. FX for next cycle! dke2010 - FX the injects aren't too hard for you. kleigh - Yay! Crossing all the things for you! setsuna17 - FX AF comes soon so you can get the ball rollin'. lilsneezy - That is uber frustrating. Hopefully, you ob/gyn will just order the b/w for you. Evelyn3 - Sending you hugs and hoping that the decisions aren't too stressful. ceejay - Stomach bugs are no bueno. Glad you're feeling better though. piccyami - That is so awesome! FX for great embies & a smooth transfer!
My new insurance will not involve a visit to the RE just yet. I have a few other unresolved health issues that I need to work on while MH continues to look for a job. He's also still not on board with treatments, so there's that. I continue to be benched until around April, and hopefully we will be out of my MIL's house by then.
akraus2015, Sorry that you find yourself here, but welcome! Good luck looking into adoption.
jense927, Welcome. So sorry to hear of your sisters loss. Good luck with testing!
mustloveerica, FX for a great SA. Are you nervous about traveling to Mexico with the zika virus?
daisy818, yay for open tubes! Are you ok with doing 6 month of natural cycles?
wannabmama, IVF seems to entail so much. I would have a hard time going to that as well. But, like you said, we are ready for a baby now:) good luck
Rama, I can't wait to help you burn that bench when the time comes!
snakefisherbub, hugs. You have to be comfortable with your decision to go back or not. Maybe it'll bring more hope then sadness for your loss?
kleigh everything crossed for you! ceejay, I hope you are feeling better. piccyami, good luck with the transfer! kawaiikitsune glad to hear your HSG went well. I will be staying away from google, I seem to do better in situations where I am not overly prepared. lol @wallflwr926, so sorry that you won't be able to get to the RE and that YH isn't on board with treatment at this time. Is it because of the cost? Good luck with finding out the other unresolved heath issues!
My appointment went well today. The ultrasound tech said things looked good, but that I did have a small cyst. I guess I will find out more when I actually have the final consult with the RE once all of the testing is complete. I tried to get my SHG scheduled as well, but the "new patient consultant" who is supposed to help me do that never got back to me today.
easilyunamused - Re: SHG, I had one because when we did my regular ultrasound he saw an area of my uterus that he wanted to check further. If my u/s had not had that little hiccup he would not have ordered the SHG, and even he admitted that it was probably just him being OCD and that he did not anticipate finding anything.
Re: me doing natural TTC for the next 6 months, I'm having mixed feelings. Obviously it will be nice to not have to do all the monitoring and expense of treatment, but in 6 months I'll also be only a few months from turning 35, so if it doesn't pan out then I'm running smack into AMA and just then be getting started on doing something about the IF. So I'm trying to just stay optimistic that the removal of the endo + flushing my tubes will make a difference and that I'm not just wasting another 6 months.

Thanks for the SHG insight. I hope to save a little money and not do it, I don't know if it's required in my office.
I really hope that it makes a difference too! I personally would have a hard time with not going straight to medicated cycles as well, like time was just ticking by. It really sucks that it's a big waiting game. But, you have to do what you and your doctor are comfortable with, and just focus on the positives. Like no endo and clean tubes:)
easilyunamused, glad it went well, hopefully the cyst is a non-issue. I never had an HSG, only an SHG, so as for comparing the two on which one is more necessary, I am no help... Im not too sure you really need both unless they have a reason to go further.
snakefisherbub, :hugs: its so much to deal with. It sucks.
@wallieflowers - yay for insurance!
babycowbell, glad everything looks great! Best of luck
dke2010, good luck with the injectables! youll be a pro
kleigh, glad it went well, it was a bit uncomfortable for me too.
lilsneezy, so annoying they have not gotten back to you. I hate that.
piccyami! that is awesome!! best of luck friday, I have everything crossed for you!
Question for those doing IVF, (which I am sure has been asked before, so apologies in advance)... Typically if I go in this week and we decide to do it, is egg retrieval done in about the same timeline as when I would normally be ready to ovulate? (ie CD14) So I have about 2 weeks of meds and appointments before ER? or is the process longer? Hope that makes sense... and thanks in advance
easilyunamused - Not a cost thing. It's a I have to make appointments for GYN, gastro, psych, GP, and i'm sure some other stuff thing. So need to prioritize.
Also MH is unemployed right now and a pain in my tush.
