So yesterday I was sent to the ER with severe abdominal pain. Ultrasound of ovaries showed no issues there. CT Scan for appendicitis was inconclusive. I am on antibiotics and a liquid diet for a few days and then need a repeat CT scan in a few weeks. After that it will be determined if I need my appendix out or not. We can't TTC until after all of this is sorted out so best case scenario 3 weeks, worst case 6+ weeks. That's the part that makes me the most upset. I just wish for once I could catch a freaking break!
Sending you positive vibes. Keep at those doctors until you get an answer.
teachermomtobe hope you feel better! I agree with Wallie, keep at them for answers. I was sent home with a kidney infection and antibiotics for that and when the pain was still there 36-48 hours later I thought this can't be right, and ended up it was appendicitis.

teachermomtobe - I am so sorry to hear this. Sending you thoughts & prayers that you are feeling better soon and that you don't have to be benched 6+ weeks.
Yesterday, I received a call from my RE. Apparently, the hospital that I was scheduled to have my hysterocscopy at does not accept my insurance. So despite having the whole thing set up, pre-op appointment and the surgery itself, I had to cancel it because we don't have enough to pay for it OOP. My RE said for me to call the place that I had my HSG done at and have them send the films or I can pick them up myself and bring them to new RE so he can see them for himself and determine whether this procedure is absolutely necessary. I am so heartbroken because I feel like we take one step forward and the get knocked back two steps.

That is so frustrating! I hear ya on the one step forward, two steps back. IF sucks! I hope your RE can help you determine if it's absolutely necessary.

Hey all, can I join you here? I'll be doing injectables next cycle and would love the support of this check in.
How long have you been trying to conceive? Over a year
Do you have a diagnosis? If so; what is it? Unexplained IF.
Are you currently doing any testing or treatment? I've done all the tests, so now I just wait for next cycle.
Any updates? We've done 12 IUIs total: 9 unmedicated, 2 with Femara, and 1 with Clomid. I'm benched this cycle due to a humongous cyst on my left ovary and next cycle I'll be doing injectables.
If I end up with more than 5 mature follicles we will switch over to IVF and I'll find the money somewhere. I figure if we're spending $2k on meds there is no way in hell we're wasting mature eggs.
Me: 31 Wife: 30. Legally married 2008, thanks CA! TTC #1 since 11/14 using donor sperm. IUIs Jan-Aug 2015 BFN Sept & OCT 2015 added Femara. BFN Saw RE December 2015. IUI with Clomid & Trigger Jan 2016 BFN IUI #13 with Follistim April 2016 BFFN IVF #1 July 2016. 14R, 10F, 6 Day 5 embryos. 4 PGS normal embabies!

lilsneezy - I guess he figured the paperwork from the doctor would be enough? I think right now he's just trying to find a way to keep me from having to pay oop for the procedure. The hospital is not budging about my insurance, which is seriously lame as hell.

I'm so sorry! That's really frustrating. You'd think the hospital would have known when you gave them your info. FX that perhaps you won't need the surgery anyways.

That sucks. Hopefully he doesn't think you still need it after seeing the films. Is there another hospital you can go to that takes your insurance in case you do need it?

According to my RE's nurse, that is the only hospital he performs outpatient surgeries at. He could do the hysteroscopy in the office but if he does find polyps/fibroids and I do need to have them removed, I am screwed unless I can pay oop. MH & I are thinking that if that is the case, maybe we can find out a total cost and just pay it off little by little. That is really our best option since we don't have a whole lot in savings as this was pretty unexpected.

Maybe they can charge an unsured rate and create a payment plan.
Depending on your income level you may be able to submit it Charity Care, especially, if they can deem the surgery medically necessary.
