Mine is a C I think but the sides are really long so they meet. I guess I have a big oval pillow. I've never tried a U but I think I would like it better since I do switch sides often.
With ds, I used an oversized king size pillow. This week I purchased a long body pillow. Last night was my first night with it and it was amazing. Kept me on my side, put it between my knees which helped my hips. I switched sides a few times and it wasn't too bad to move with me.
Thanks for posting, katelm! I need some sort of pregnancy pillow fast. I tried using a body pillow we have but it just takes up too much room and it's not as comfortable
I never move my snoogle. The top and bottom curl around enough that I can still hug them under my head and between my knees. Sometimes it's nice to have the support behind my back but not against my belly

What I do really like about the C shape is that I can arrange it so I can sleep on my stomach (occasionally). That would be harder to do with a U shape.

I use the C shape(snoogle) and switch sides to use he ends for my head and between my legs. With my first, I never felt the need to have the pillow under my belly for support and never felt like the snoogle would fit that way anyways (my belly was on the smaller side anyways).
The one thing I hate about Snoogle is that it gets a little U fluffed and soft in the middle of the C...one tip is to throw it in the dryer with a couple tennis balls or something. Happy snoogling, y'all.
