Hi all,
My name is Liz and I was a long time poster on TTCAL over on TB, and a frequent lurker of the Adoption board too. I post here on CAL and CLNBC.
Long story short, after going through a pretty rough couple of years in the world of (unsuccessful) fertility treatments, my husband and I were starting to settle into a CLNBC life and decided to just stop pursuing medical intervention. We had had enough. We've taken the past few months to reconnect and enjoy ourselves and our lives together.
Over the weekend, my H let me know that he is not ready to throw in the towel on pursuing parenthood just yet and asked how I felt about pursuing adoption. I was surprised to hear myself say YES, let's do it. I had always wanted to pursue adoption, but after such a long drawn out IF process, I didn't want to subject ourselves to more potential heartache. I also didn't think that we could afford it.
I still don't know all of the answers, but what changed for us this past weekend was that we agreed, we want to find a way to do this. What if we just accepted that it WAS a possibility (instead of assuming it was NOT a possibility).
So, that's me. I plan on reading/researching and listening a whole lot in the coming weeks. I hope you don't mind if I jump in with some questions. I also look forward to getting to know y'all and giving support where I can.
Nice to meet you.
