I hate the rug in DD's room. I ordered it online for DS originally and when it came there was just more black in it than I realized. We made due and when he moved out of that room, he got something different, but the rug stayed behind and DD inherited it.
I really don't know what I want instead, but I know I don't want this. I rearranged her room this weekend and hung a few more pics, so it's finally (19 months later) feeling like her room some. Suggestions? Walls aren't getting painted any time soon. Curtains are ikea with lots of colors. "Theme" is just classic nursery books/rhymes so there are framed pages from antique children's books as well as some things DH picked (and I didn't feel like battling over...you'll see them). So, link me ideas for rugs please! I think we could go an anywhere from 5x8 to 8x10.

soon2bmrsn, I've looked at the top one. Hadn't seen the ikea one before. I'm worried about such a light background in a kid's room. if others have good experiences with them, I'm definitely willing to consider them, but it's made me hesitant so far.
We have 3 area rugs in other parts of our home (living room is a rug we bought in Nepal, dining and our bedroom are antique oriental rugs) so part of my struggle is do I go contemporary because it's a kid's room, or is there some more "classic" or "traditional" that goes along with the others in our home.
Also, I'm probably (definitely) over thinking this.
TheCoffeeNinja, I like that one too, but is it too "mature" for a kid's room? Good to know you haven't had issues with the lighter areas in your home, though. That's reassuring.
TheCoffeeNinja, you're right about it with the theme. I guess in my head it's a lighter roomer (the pictures from the books are all light, frames and trim are white, walls are a light color) that I never considered it from that perspective. Now something else to mull over because you're right, that could work too
Yeah, I tried to be diplomatic about how it's very "specific" and I didn't know how well it would "age" and that it would certainly need to be replaced when she actually has a say in her room vs one that's more traditional that we could change a room around as she grows. He didn't see how we wouldn't have to change what ever we pick when she wants to redecorate when she's older, but I think that's something we can work on.
