1. I applied for a 3rd job on Sunday and got a call yesterday about it. Sigh. I really don't want to work 3 jobs but we are struggling to meet all of our goals without M working full time. Also the new 2nd job I took isn't making as much money as I was expecting.
2. Anyone fill quarterly taxes because of a 1099? I've always done our taxes but I am terrified of doing the quarterly thing wrong and getting hit with a huge tax bill.
3. The weather has been so nice this winter. I'm really appreciating it.
4. My mom leaves for Florida for 3 weeks today. One less person I need to schedule into my days. (That sounds mean but it's just a lot).
5. I'm hoping to get working out more regularly and frequently with our new Y membership. Also taking O to open swim. I grew up going to the Y and it is brining back a lot of memories.
6. Work is awful still. I have to stay till the middle of May. After that I hope to stay until the baby is born. Hopefully after that I can work from home which will hopefully improve my outlook.
7. We really wanted M to stay home after the next baby is born but I just don't know how we can make that work. We are struggling with her working part time.
8. I'm excited for the Superbowl. I don't really care about football but it's my last good excuse to eat some bad for me food. We are staying in anyway cause 18 month old.
9. I've been at work for 45 minutes and have done nothing, probably should change that!
1. J's friend (I guess she is a friend to both of us - but she was J's friend in college when we met) showed up unannounced today to meet Lucie. She was in the neighborhood for work and texted J (J didn't see it right away) and she showed up 20 mins later (before J even saw the text). I was annoyed. J was not.
2. Luckily I was wearing actual clothes and a bra when said friend showed up. And she only stayed about 25 min. I don't mean to sound rude - I really don't.
3. Today was a successful BFing day. I'm kind of surprised. Also, sore nipples. So sore.
4. We are contemplating a family trip to Target tomorrow.
5. We all have better days when we get out of the house, even if just for an hour. I get super restless, as does William, when we don't leave the house for multiple days in a row.
6. I look forward to taking walks when the weather gets nicer. I can't wait to use our double stroller!
7. William had a much better day today. Yesterday was rough. Today was a lot closer to his usual self with a few rough spots. It may not last, but a decent day was a relief and I will take it.
8. Last night at Lu's 2am feeding J saw on FB on her phone that Bernie Sanders had won the Iowa caucus. I was shocked, but didn't verify the information. Turns out it was a false/premature report she read. At any rate, it was very close. I think this primary season is going to be very interesting for both parties.
9. William is in bed. Lu is taking a cat nap in J's arms. I'm not sure what to do with myself. I could go clean something. Instead I'm posting here.
10. I have a goal for later this week to repaint my toes. Let's see if I can do it. I could do it now, but... Nah.

1. I got an awesome review today. I won't know how much my raise is until Friday though. Bummer. I'm hoping for something good!
2. I so badly want a baby. It hurts more and more each day. I am going back to individual counseling to try to get a grip on my emotions, it's bad some days. It was oook today, but I know it could be better.
3. We are going to visit the in-laws in Denver over VDay. I am hoping we have enough extra money to pick up some things Id like from Ikea, but I am not holding my breathe.
4. Speaking of money, we owe in for taxes, ack. And DWs student loans are ridiculous. It's about $800-$1000 a month. I need to call someone about it, but I get so nervous calling, and it's a pain in the butt.
5. I have been looking into getting a second job to help out with number 4, but I work 47-55 hours a week now, and it would leave no time. Hopefully my raise helps out. DW should be getting her yearly raise soon as well.
6. My landlord sucks. But we get to live her for cheap, with a fenced yard perfect for the dogs (3 of them) and a cat. She never bothers us, and never stops by. It's nice. Also, anything comparable in the area is about $500-$700 more a month. Now with that said we've been asking for the parts to put the closet doors back on the track for over a year, and the hood vent over the stove just as long. But it IS a nice place, it has great features, and it's large.
7. My brother in law keeps riding me about buying a house bc he's convinced the market is going to crash again. Two things dude - 1. If we could we would, but the debt to income ratio is too high for us to get a home loan without 50-70k down, and at 27 I don't have that kind of cash, and if I did I'd pay off half of DWs student loans with it. 2. You're not a real estate professional you have no idea what the market is going to do. 3. I may get promoted again, but have no idea where we'd land. 4. I have no interest in buying right now.
8. I found a great dessert bar in Denver that I can't wait to visit in VDAY, and I bought the cutest dress from old navy to wear out that day.
9. I love Grace and Frankie on Netflix. It's SOO gooooood. I also loved the great British bake off. It's refreshing to see a game show where there is no cash prize, and everyone is nice to each other.
10. I am so pleased that the caucus is over. No more door knocking, no more phone calls, I get my Monday nights back for a few weeks. I am pleased with the result, but I'm so tired of everyone saying that every sort of election is rigged when their candidate doesn't win. If you saw how the caucus was set up in person, they'd see how difficult it would be to rig it, next to impossible. Also, if ONE more person tells me thier vote doesn't count I'll scream, bc last night in my precinct, my sister and I had to sway ONE girl, to get us ONE delegate, causing Hillary to win the caucus by ONE delegate. Also, Ted Cruz, Iowa? Really?!
2) this afternoon we found out that it looks like another offer is being made. There is a possibility we could be asked to offer our highest-best and the seller would basically pick the one they want.
3) apparently the seller was meeting with their agent at 6 and our realtor was going to get back to us.
4) our realtor still hasn't heard from them.
5) this pregnant lately is stressing a bit. I'm fine getting a different house but do really like this one, and L loves it.
6). C has first day of daycare tomorrow.
7) I'm hoping to get a little r and r then.
8). I hope I can sleep if we don't hear from them.
9) maybe buying a house at. 5 months pregnant and closing around 7 months is not such a great thing.

It's not ideal, but you can do it. One of my clients went into labor early and was in the hospital giving birth during the end of our inspection period. Thank goodness for digital signatures!

mahler5 we have bought and sold 3 houses in the past 12 years. It's never a good time to buy a house. It's always stressful. Fingers crossed things work out for you all!
4. We are having a major rain storm here and I'm okay with that because nobody needs to shovel rain.
5. I feel like I'm winning at gestational diabetes this week; I've actually managed to figure out some meals that don't make me feel like I'm suffering and the meal planning is definitely taking me less time now. Yay!
6. My fav hockey team is not doing well, which especially sucks because we're not going out very much and watching hockey together is usually pretty good entertainment - but not when your team is on a crazy losing streak.
7. I sometimes wonder how often other people wash their hair.
8. My mantra today is "you only need to make it through today and tomorrow".
karlamo I think it's just fear of the unknown and I really don't want to mess things up with the IRS. I've always done my taxes myself. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and hire someone. The money that I'm making on 1099 is minimal right now so it seems like a waste but my hope is to make substantially more over this year.
I was reading online that all of your taxes must be paid quarterly. I was just thinking federal and state. I just need a step by step guide.

Ideally, you want to pay your quarterlies every quarter but you don't have to. You can pay them all when you file your taxes but you get charged a penalty fee which is nominal. My advisor says for some people she recommends them NOT paying their quarterlies. They earn more money on the interest of keeping it in their accounts till they file. The fee they pay is so small, they actually earn a profit on the interest. The way I do my 1099 work is a have a separate bank account set up and I deposit any 1099 checks into that. I then leave 31% from each check in that account to cover my quarterlies and transfer the rest into my other accounts. When it comes time to pay my quarterlies I have that money already to go.
It took me a few years of trial and error to figure out the exact amount I needed to take out of each check. If you want to chat more about 1099 stuff, let me know. I've been doing it for 8 years now.
karlamo thanks for the additional information. I had pondered the separate account for the 1099s and I think that makes sense to keep everything clean. Thanks so much for your input!
