The girls and I are going to a friends (who also has 2 girls) for the super bowl. I really don't care about the game, I'm going for adult interaction and good snacks. And of course the girls love going to play there.
I'm spending today laying low and maybe doing some cleaning or small projects. I get more done when DH is out of town...
My mom and I are taking my girls (4 and 2.5) to ikea on Tuesday. I've never been. I'm not taking the double stroller so I have more space. Should I take the umbrella for DD2!or do they have carts or something that I could use?
shoogars they have carts. They have flat bed carts but they also have regular carts. You'll probably need all the space possible in your car for your new purchases. We aren't going to a super bowl party cause ds goes to bed at 6:30/7 so I'll make dh some yummy snacks and well enjoy it together. I'm taking a cooking class tomorrow with a girlfriend. I'm excited for food, adult time and I love cooking without interruption.

Just getting brunch with a friend today. Glad I ate first breakfast because I'm STARVING! Then playing with my new wrap with DD. Need to clean and do laundry this weekend too. Otherwise no major plans.
So mad though. I wanted to sleep in today but woke up at 615 and couldn't get back to sleep (after getting up at 230 with DD and needing to pee). DD didn't even get up until almost 8.
I'm looking forward to super bowl food and hanging out in the couch. I think if you're not into it it has a lot to do with if you watched it with your parents, cuz DH is also not that into it but it's because he doesn't have those memories of it as a kid. watching football with my dad.
So far my day has consisted of the dogs begging to go out, getting freaked out because melting snow is falling out of all the trees, then barking to come in. Rinse, repeat.
DH and I will probably watch the super bowl at my parents' place with parents, my sister, and her fiancé. I actually like both the teams this year, so it is low pressure
I really really hate this lingering cold. Last night was the worst night by far. I'm considering Benadryl tonight.
I went grocery shopping early this morning to avoid weekend and Super Bowl shopping crowds. We are having a few people over tomorrow for the Super Bowl. DH made chili for a chili dip and we'll have guacamole, salsas, queso dip and then steak and carnitas tacos.
I think I'll make these brownies too, I've made them a number of times, they are more like a cake than a brownie. I leave out the nuts because my family has a weird thing about nuts in brownies, it's essentially forbidden.

DD is having a crazy melt down after being a miserable ball of back-talking attitude today. She's in her bed, and I don't even care that it's 2pm. If she falls asleep until 7pm, I'd rather have her up all night and be pleasant than the cranky mess she's been all day. 3-year-olds are IMPOSSIBLE.
I'm pleased about one thing though - I placed an order through Babies R Us and was THRILLED it came early (my first really purchase for this baby). And when I opened the package - BOTH items were incorrect. I called them back and they are sending me both of the correct items (HOPEFULLY) and told me just to keep the incorrect ones at no charge. It was a less than attractive boppy cover and a little pack of polo-shirt onesies I totally wouldn't have purchased. Oh well... I'll either use them or consign them later, but I'm very happy with their customer service!
I took a nap today for the first time in a very long time!!! It was amazing!
We're going to my sister's house tomorrow for a Super Bowl party. I'm making buffalo chicken dip. The hard part will be not eating it all before we go!
Flair Underwood, sorry about your threenager. DS is having a really good day so far today but he's been a real pain the last few weeks. If I weren't so sick of it, his fits and outbursts would be comical as they are based on the most ridiculous situations (e.g. buttering his toast after he asked for butter, his spaghetti isn't orange (wtf?), putting his shirt on before his pants, etc etc etc). When they just continue that way through the day it's so incredibly draining. He's just starting with the talk back, it's not fun.
Having a 3 year really requires wine. I hope your day improves.

I'm really happy baby #2 will be born when ds is 2 3/4. I already need the wine!

Today was the last meeting of the moms and babies group I hosted. I held two 3-month-olds today--so tiny! I also bought them donuts, so now I've had 2.5 donuts today. No regrets.
I think baby bells is on a sugar high though. He's been going nuts after that second one.

Exactly our age difference and exactly my thoughts!

Thanks, csat. I just have NO idea where the sass or the mimicry comes from. I keep WAITING for the day that at least half of what I ask of her gets a positive response as opposed to flat out disregard. Heaven help the teenage years!!
We decided to be brave and take DS to a birthday party that started at his bedtime (7). We tried to get a babysitter but no one was available. Shockingly, he did awesome. He was the life of the party and was dancing, having fun, and hamming it up the whole 2 hours we were there. Ahh, the last few months with one child. I'm glad we've always gotten out and done things with just one-I know it'll get a lot harder to do that with two on our hands!
Tomorrow we have church then a super bowl party at night. We're going to attempt to rake leaves and get a few things done around the house, too.
I ordered some new girl Aden and Anais blankets (even though we had a 4 pack for DS). They came in the mail today.....sooooo soft and cute. My DS kept saying, "Those for baby!!"
We are heading to a friend's house for the Super Bowl. I made cupcakes that are brownie on the bottom and I'm also making buffalo chicken dip. So excited to eat!
Took DD to get a hair cut today. It was getting long in the back which I thought I wanted but it was so uneven that I hated the way the front looked. I couldn't keep it out of her face and it was just wild looking. I'm loving it and she was so good while we were there. I was literally shocked how good she was. Should have gotten a before and after but here is the after. Also she was interested in her big girl undies so she wore them all day (while we were home) which is why she has no pants on in the pic . No accidents but she just doesn't pee a lot. She went once in the 6 (not consecutive) hours she had undies on. She drinks plenty so she must just have a huge bladder!

I enjoyed reading all the Super Bowl talk, we aren't doing anything this year because we will be traveling home from visiting family and I need some mental prepare time for a huge meeting I have on Monday.
On that note: pity party for one here because I feel like one of my students is harassing me (constantly sending emails) and trying to get me canned and it's stressing me out to the point where I'm questioning if I should even be doing this job. I want to sleep but can't and have so much stress pain in my body that I can't function properly let alone sit (and we have a 4 hour drive tomorrow).
I'm pretty sure DS has pink eye, so we may have to miss the Super Bowl party tomorrow. I'm hoping that it was just some random goop in his eye and that he'll wake up in perfect condition tomorrow. Not likely though. I just hope I don't get it too this time.
I'm really sorry that a student is causing you so much stress lakecountrygal. I can commiserate on the work stress. I hope you're able to find a way to de-stress that works for you.
MH and DD are going to a friend's house for Super Bowl. I am stuck doing 8 hours in my ED rotation. I should be home for the second half hopefully. Though my second draft of my thesis is due on Monday so I really should be working on that.
