The board gets so slow on the weekends. Let's try and keep it moving a little bit!
DS was up at 3, 3:45, and 4:15 with night terrors. He basically jumped out of his crib and wasn't even awake. It's so scary/sad to watch. I hope he grows out of them.
Anyone have experience with night terrors this early? Doctor basically said its common, not to much we can do at this point.

I am so sorry. DS has never had them so I don't have experience as a parent, but I did a lot as a child. While scary and frustrating for my parents, I did outgrow it and have never had any real sleep issues since then. Hopefully your son will get passed it soon. Good luck!

So sorry DS is experiencing night terrors. I had no idea they can occur so young!
It's supposed to be warmish today so we are going to take the dogs for a walk at the lake. There has been ice on my stairs (27 steps) for days so I haven't been taking them for walks so I feel guilty and want to take them on a short trip.

My DD had those sometimes when she was younger. Now, she only gets them when we are traveling (and have long days) or camping. Its like she is awake for so long, and plays so hard, she cannot shut off her brain. My husband has gotten really good at jumping out of the tent, grabbing her, and getting in the truck with her, while she screams....so she doesn't wake up the whole campground. But it sucks!

We have a birthday party to go to today at Build A Bear, and then tomorrow we are going house hunting with some friends of ours. I love my friends, I really do, but they wanted me to help them find a house and they have champagne taste on a beer budget. Their wish list keeps getting bigger and bigger. and I have gotten frustrated with trying to help them find something. I did find a house that fits their most important needs, and is over $50,000 under their max budget. The only thing it didn't have was space for a shop (it is in a subdivision but is on a bigger lot....you just cannot build one), and a pool. We live in the PNW.....a pool would get used for like 6 weeks of the year. Each time I find one under their budget, that matches their list at least 75%, they send me the link to one they found $100k over budget. One of the houses that I found, has a separate living space (which they wanted for his mom), and is two houses down from the house that I found for my old boss. I think it would be awesome if they lived by each other (they know each other, as we have taken camping trips all together), and the separate space for his mom would keep her in the house, but far enough away from them so they feel like they have their space. Hopefully they like it, when we look at it tomorrow, because I am tired of looking at house. HAHA
harlowjune1984 oh man that sounds exhausting! Good luck.
I've noticed if we get DS to bed too late he wakes up more often with them. People give me a hard time that I should have him on "our" schedule and not be so strict about his bedtime. It pisses me off because they don't understand. I should call them at 4am when he's screaming and see if they think differently!

Ugh those comments suck. I'm really strict about naps and bedtime, and it's a lifesaver in terms of his (and my) sleep. Gets annoying to live life around his sleep but so worth it in my opinion.
We're in stomach bug hell so it's day 2 of laying around watching Elmo. DH has tried to engage DD in other activities, but she really doesn't feel good and just wants Elmo. She's had 2 round of explosive diarrhea, which God bless DH for taking care of as I'm incapacitated. The second one shorted her nap and got all over everything.
I woke up at 4:30 and puked, then had several rounds of puking in the sink or tub because TMI I needed to be seated on the toilet at the same time. I'm finally able to keep water down and got brave enough to take Tylenol to take the fever down.
Being sick and pregnant is a special hell. I feel bad I'm not helping with DD much, and it doesn't feel good at all when the baby moves. I'm laying here willing the baby to go to sleep and still rolling around.
Really praying DH doesn't get this, but I don't think it can be avoided.

We have always been strict about DS's bed time. We have a set winding down ritual for bed that has been modified over the years that works for us. People, my IL's specifically, would tease us and make comments but I like my sleep and DS needs his so he is not a pain in our butts the next day. Sticking to a schedule is best for everyone's sanity in our house. Now that DS is older we can get by with allowing him to stay up a little later on very special occasions but that means he will be a bit tired and cranky the next day.
I am so tired today. I may take a nap in the couch while DS watches a movie.
comicSans oh no! We just went through a similar bug here. DS puked once a day for a week, and had explosive diarrhea for about four days of that. It was hell trying to get him enough liquids. We watched so much MMCH it was torture but DS wanted to just lay around all day.

melody330 I'm sorry your DS was up with night terrors! My DS had one recently when he was really sick. He was screaming and crying for Mommy and Daddy, but nothing we did would calm him, it was like he couldn't see us. Scary.

A friend's son had night terrors. It took a couple of years to grow out of them. I hope his get better soon!

*TMI warning*
DH and I had sex this afternoon and I bled after... A lot! Some cramps too. I called up to the labour and delivery at the nearest hospital (my dr office was closed) and they reassured me I was fine, it's totally normal because the cervix is so sensitive, and the cramps are normal too, the uterus contracts after sex. Phew!!!! Never had that happen when I was pregnant with DS!

I woke up with a headache today. Second tri headaches have returned and they are no joke.
DS only got up once last night, and no night terrors! I feel so rested lol.
Are headaches a pregnancy thing? I don't remember getting them with DS, but I've had a headache almost every day the past two weeks. At least I can blame it on the pregnancy now! Glad you got some sleep!
We got a full size bed and dressers this weekend to put in DS's room. We've been busy all weekend setting up his room and moving his crib to the baby's room. He's 3, so it was definitely time to get him out of the crib, but a part of me was a little sad that my first baby is growing up so fast! He LOVES his big boy room though, so it's pretty awesome to see that.
It's also crazy because we now already have the baby's room set up with all of DS's old furniture and we still have so much time before baby's here. We're not usually this prepared. lol. I still need to decide if I should do a new nursery theme or just reuse all the gender-neutral themed stuff we used for DS. Dh wants to reuse, but I kind of want to start new...we'll see who wins this one.

Hey ladies. Stopping by to say hi and commiserate on the headaches! They suck. Thank god for Tylenol.
So far this weekend, Mh worked a 24 hour shift so he's sleeping now, one of my mothers under sink pipes burst in my face so I had to fix that, I managed to meet one of my mom friends for dinner and get together one of my girlfriends for lunch yesterday, I have sauce on the stove for lasagne, and now I'm trying to catch my breath and watch some debate coverage. I put my name dilemma to the BnB, so I'm hoping Mh and I will solidify something soon.... Because monograms. Don't judge.
