It's just another manic Monday!

Good morning ladies! I'm trying to catch up from the end of last week and the weekend. Work has been crazy and will continue to be until mid-March probably, but I'm still reading when I can even if I can't post. 

I hope you are all having a great start to the day and the week, and that nobody is feeling too sluggish after the underwhelming Superbowl last night.

Haha, true that! Both the Superbowl AND commercials were yawn-worthy! But it was still a good excuse to get together with friends and eat chili and cupcakes.

WFH today. It's gloomy and raining outside, so I'm glad I don't have to go out in it.

I'm a pretty big football fan usually but just couldn't get into this season at all. The SB pretty much summed up my feelings on the whole season - "meh!" It was nice to see Peyton win in what will probably be his last game over. And I'm looking forward to watching the Puppy Bowl with DS tonight. He's really excited!

Being a Browns fan, I'm always pretty meh about NFL football to save my sanity. Ha! But I do watch a fair bit because I play in two fantasy football leagues (I won the work league this year, pat's self on back). It keeps it fun when my team's outlook is dismal (always).

Extra coffee for me today-DS was up talking, crying or yelling half of the night. I'm hoping he's exhausted by nap time but toddler seems never seems to work in a logical or sensible way.

I feel for you pbandj714, and quietly admit that I'm a Ravens fan (don't hate me). A few years back, I was living in Ohio as a Ravens fan and engaged to a Steelers fan, among Browns and Bengals fans. It was interesting! I will say that the Browns fans were easier to deal with than the Bengals fans.

Happy Monday! I'm sitting here thinking about how I should have grabbed a leftover cupcake to eat for breakfast. I made them for a party last night and they are brownie bottom with yellow cake and white icing. They are delic and super easy to make. I hope the nanny (and whoever play dates at our house) doesn't eat all of the leftovers!

Funny weekend story...DD looked at me and said "mommy you fat" and giggled. Ha! I guess this belly is growing pretty fast. I told her it's not nice to say that to people and in this case it's not fat it's baby sister. I wasn't upset and just laughed but then I had visions of her actually telling an overweight person that and thought I better make it a teachable moment

I can imagine that that was an interesting time! Truthfully, the Ravens bother me the least out of our whole division (we can still be friends, plus you're a buckeye!!). I know I'm supposed to hate the Steelers most, but I think that I truly dislike the Bengals most just purely because of the number of their fans I encounter on the reg who act like complete a-holes.

I always liked the other teams in this order: Browns, Bengals then Steelers, simply because there are a lot of Steelers fans in MD and they tend to be very mouthy. After the Bengals/Steelers game a few weeks back, the Steelers and Bengals are firmly tied at the bottom. The lack of class in that game was disturbing and embarrassing. I have a few really good friends who are Bengals fans and even they were rethinking their loyalties after that game. 

Anyway, sorry to hijack the thread and make it about football.  This morning was omelette day in the office so I got a made-to-order omelette to start my day! Great start to the week!

And I'm chuckling at your DD's comment, but also dying inside because one of my most embarrassing moments as a mom was when DS repeatedly called a guy "big" while we were waiting in line at the store one day. He was just learning opposites and was stuck on big/small that week. This guy was easily 6'8" or more and was just a big guy all around. No amount of redirecting was working and DS just kept saying it over and over again. We had a talk when we got to the car, but I was mortified and felt so bad for the guy.

Also, not a huge NFL fan. I blame being Canadian mostly. I have a friend who plays in the CFL, and probably the only reason I keep up with our own league if I'm honest.

DD did okay with her toddler rail on her bed. We had one incident at 2:30 where she woke up crying and came running out, but DH got her back down within 10 mins. I'm nervous about nap time today though.

I also haven't had any coffee yet. I need to do something about this.

That was the recipe I used. I've made them a few times with different cake flavors and they all work fine.

I will say that the sizes of the boxes of brownie and cake do not exist (that I could find). So I get the larger brownie box (family size 18ish oz) and the regular cake (15ish oz). You do NOT have to adjust the liquid because the dry is a little smaller. Note that the liquid is a little different than the instructions on the box.

We watched the boring Super Bowl, but I was glad Peyton won. DH brought our dog to his parents house so I had to go get him after the game. Not what I wanted to do at 11pm, but it was easier to get him last night rather than today.

We get workdays to do all sorts of legal special Ed paperwork, so today I'm stuck at a table writing all day. It's not my work style at all, so it's tough for me. I've been here almost two hours and have taken about four breaks.

Thanks nymama917! I've been trying to find an end-of-year recipe to make for DH's team and those might be the winner! Poor kids have to worry about making weight all season so I usually try to make them some junk food once the season wraps.

I was happy for Peyton last night. It was a deserving finish for his awesome career. I'm busy at work today but really just want to go home and nap alone. Dinner is cooking in the crock pot so that will be nice tonight.

Pregnancy brain has started. I continuously forget and then later remember things. Time to start taking good notes!

I got it for DS, honestly unless it's a really good sale I would pass. Right now it's used as an overpriced nightlight/clock/thermometer. The white noise turns off after 30 minutes, so he would wake up then. Now we use an old iPad with a white noise app that stays on all night. Most video monitors will tell you the room temp.

Yeah our video monitor has the temp. And DD is in love with her twilight ladybug so we don't need a nightlight for her and she never cared for white noise....so for her it would've been the most expensive clock.

I'm probably going to pass. It IS pretty, but probably not practical for the price, even with the sale. If I see it at a consignment for way less maybe...

cattuccino, Ahhhh I have the whole "big boy bed" set up (minus the rail which we haven't set up yet), but I'm totally nervous to try it. I DID put a pink sheet on his crib today though-I figure I'll turn it into the nursery whether he's in there still or not!

I've never heard of the serenity star-our monitor doesn't do temp either but I always figure it's similar throughout the house since we have central heat/air. We use a white noise machine that you plug into the wall. Unfortunately, DS HAS to have it.

soultrane, Thank you! I think his sweater is from Target? Most of his clothes are from there-they have some adorable toddler boy things for pretty cheap!

Snow day #2 today after already had one on Friday. At this rate I'm not going to make it to the end of the year. I'm a little annoyed because between taking a sick day and snow, I've only had to work 3 days out of the last 10, but despite all the sleep and relaxation this cold shows no signs of moving on! WTH! #firstworldproblems

I enjoyed the game last night, though mostly because of the food and hanging out with friends and family. DH got me into football when I was about 20 (I grew up in a baseball family, but football was never a big thing). First player I ever loved was Peyton Manning, because watching him play was just so fun. Obviously not the man he once was after 12 more years of injuries and age, but I was still happy to see him get another ring before he (presumably) retires.

Dreaming, I am so sorry about that! I've never heard of that before-what are the usual complications that go along with that? Have you had bleeding? I will be thinking about you and hoping baby stays in there and gives you a calm rest of the pregnancy until June!

cattuccino, I had never heard of it and personally don't think it would be worth the cost, but I can't speak from experience.

For white noise, we used the Cloud B giraffe (this guy) and he still uses it now as a lovey. He turns on the sound options sometimes but we actually play music in his room at night which helps more than the white noise ever did. His favorite? The O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack! lol

Is your placenta at least in a good location? It almost sounds like similar risks to placenta previa (excessive bleeding, preterm labor, etc). I am so sorry for all of this in addition to the SCH-hoping that it resolves by 28 weeks and that baby continues to grow grow grow! Let us know if you are ever having a bad day or need anything!
