1) I took 6 month pics of DS Friday... How is he almost 6 months already?!
2) DD is now completely daytime potty trained.
3) We're getting a big tax return, so I'm buying a new couch. I'm excited, lol.
4) DH is on second shift for now, and I hate it. I have to make dinner and do bedtime by myself, and evenings are DSs roughest time of day. Plus having DH home for the day throws off everything.
5) It's snowing a bunch here today, we're supposed to get 6"
6) I've been taking DD to the library for story time the past month or so. She is loving it.
7) We moved to this area in Augusr and I still know noone.
8) My SIL is expecting a baby in August! I'm so excited for them and for me to be an aunt again
9) I feel like my grocery spending is out of control.
10) I want to go on a big vacation this year, but because of $$$ that's not going to happen. I think we're going to do a few weekends away at least.
So jealous of your DDs potty training! We've had about 3 poops on the potty in almost a month. She just can't sit still long enough to go once she's sitting on it. Which brings me to number...
1. I really need to do one of those 3 day kick start potty training sessions so she really gets motivated about going.
2. She loves M&Ms or candy as a reward for going but it's not a big enough motivator.
3. We went to the zoo today and saw lots of animals- it was great to be outdoors in the cold (35 degrees today but sunny and no wind)
4. No tax return for us this year selling the duplex last July made us have to pay $2000. I was not happy! I'm still thankful we were able to sell it quickly and make a profit on it though. It's been so much less stress for me not thinking about it
5. Our bedroom is coming along nicely. My DH is currently hanging our TV on the wall and then I'm going to clean up all the dirt and mop. Our furniture does not come for another two months but I'm happy to be out of our guest bedroom tonight!
(Tv hung- here's a pic!)
6. DD2 is so close to walking. She is cruising the furniture, climbing on bathroom stools and anything else she can.
7. Big sister had "hot" chocolate and left her sippy cup on the table. Little sis climbed up and stole her cup and was sooooo happy to try that delicious drink! Of course I had to take a picture before taking it away
8. I work the next 4 evenings. I like going to work but I'm always happy when my shift is done and I'm back home.
9. We are transitioning to all big kid cups for DD1 and it's going great. She spills a little here and there but for the most part she is doing better than I thought.
10. Her favorite song right now is the a throwback from the 80s "hot, hot, hot". She walks around singing "people at the party hot, hot, hot" or "daddy in the kitchen hot, hot, hot" etc. We dance to it every night and she loves it!
G loves music from the 80s (&70s) too! We always have music playing in the house, she's a huge music fan. She is also normally "playing" either her guitar or drum too. I think this age is so much fun!
1. Well its wednesday but I was a little busy yesterday giving birth!!
2. Alexander James was born weighing a whopping 8lb 14oz and 21 inches! He's got a little bit of brown hair and blue eyes.
3. Big sister came up to meet him this afternoon and she had the biggest smile on her face!
4. I had contractions all night monday/tuesday AM pretty regularly that fizzled out when I got up and in the shower for the day. I had a dr appointment already scheduled for a growth ultrasound/NST/cervical check tuesday morning so we headed to that with our bags in the car just in case.
5. Dr said the amniotic fluid was increasing significantly and even though I had contractions all night I had no cervical dialation and baby was still high. He erred on the safe side and sent us straight to the hospital to be induced.
6. Contractions picked back up on the way to the hospital rapidly, every 2-3 minutes. After checking in, walking the halls for 30 minutes, sitting on the exercise ball for 20 minutes the dr came in and wanted to check me. As I stood up my water broke and sure enough I was at 4cm. I labored a bit longer and decided to get an epidural.
7. So even though we headed to the hospital to be induced, I ended up going into labor on my own and am super happy about that!
8. A former coworker is pregnant and overdue and should be delivering her baby at the same hospital any day now. We have joked we'd be here together but I haven't seen her yet.
9. I'm excited to get out of here tomorrow and head home to get back into a routine. Although we've definitely enjoyed some quiet time alone with baby boy before going home to a toddler.
10. This has been a 10 things new addition version, sorry I am pretty excited about our little guy!
Thank you everyone for the well wishes! We're all adjusting well to our new addition. DD has definetly been throwing more tantrums and demanding more attention from us but she just loves her baby brother. She constantly wants to help with diaper changes, brings him blankets, and gives him hugs and kisses. Unfortunately DD has come down with something this weekend-runny nose, vomiting, and sneezing so we've been trying to keep the kids segregated as much as possible but DH has to go back to work tomorrow and I'm on my own all day which shall be interesting. Baby boy had been so easy going, nurses well, not too fussy, and only waking up twice a night, while I know he's just a newborn and these things may change, I'm super thankful for this right now! I'm feeling great now and don't miss the big belly! I'd post some pictures but I don't remember how to.
