Oh, and I bought some cheap silicone ice cube trays from ikea. Once they are frozen I just put them in freezer bags. Then I can pop however many cubes I want out for the day.
I use my baby bullet. I just wing it on the water but it does have a book that tells you how much to use. I either store it in silicone freezer trays or the baby bullet cups in the fridge. I only put in the fridge what I know she can eat in three days.
Ive used my cuisinart baby food maker, but its really only best for small batches. Normally now I use my steamer pot and blender and make a lot to freeze in oce cube trays. In my blender I do have to add some water, but it doesnt come out watery really. Also, i read its best to add the water from steaming for extra nutrients.
Ive made chicken, turkey, apples, pears, peaches, carrots, sweet potatoes, kale, and broccoli so far.

We've been using a steamer basket or the rice cooker to steam, and a food processor to blend.* Like other PP have mentioned, I freeze in a silicone ice cube tray. Once frozen, I store in baggies in the freezer and take out cubes and put them in the fridge for the next day. It's been easier than expected.
*except sweet potatoes. I cut those in half and put them on some parchment paper in the oven and roasted them. Then I scooped out the flesh. I hate peeling potatoes.
I've made peas, broccoli, sweet potato and apple. I've had to add water to the sweet potato when I reheat, but that's it. So far so good.
eta theteno How did LO like kale!? It's so bitter, I didn't even think to try it!

I use my nutra bullet. I had to add some water to butternut squash, but not too much. I feel a little water is good for preventing constipation anyway. I've also done sweet potato and mashed and froze some avocado. I freeze in ice cube trays and then transfer to freezer bags.
One easy way to make some combo cubes is to use one jar and mix it with homemade. So, for example, I mixed one jar of pears with some squash and then froze it. When mixing, the jar goes a long a way and it's a quick, cheap way to add some variety. I'll probably make some carrots today and mix it with jar peas and freeze.

I steam the food then use my cuisinart food processor. It works perfectly every time. I did the same for my first. So far we've done peas, green beans, butternut squash and apples.

Ah mix with sweet potatoes. Those things are a freaking miracle. This baby will eat anything if there is some sweet potato mixed in. Thanks, theteno I will have to try it!
I got a Baby Brezza as a shower gift. I've done rice and oatmeal (ground it in food processor then cooked on stove), avocado (mashed with breast milk to thin a little), peas, and getting ready for sweet potato if LO ever gets over this stomach bug! I love it so far and would not do store bought food. But then again, I am a ftm so I may end up eating my words!
ETA: I usually cook it with minimal extra water then add milk/ water to thin it out right before I feed. I store it in 4 oz glass canning jars I bought at Target. Also bought reusable plastic lids for them.
I bake/steam the fruits and vegetables in the oven ( multiple dishes in the oven with different foods) then I use my bullet blender (regular not baby) or mash the food up (sweet potatoes, squash, apples don't need a blender). I use BM to thin them out if needed. I then freeze them in ice cube trays. Once frozen transfer to gallon ziplock baggies, so I can take out a cube or two at a time or mix and match. DD and I made peaches, blueberries, apples, butternut squash, carrots, peas and sweet potatoes last week.
Edited to say: personally I hate store bought food the once or twice I used it with DD it was so runny and half the food didn't even smell or taste like it should. It's so easy to make the food and doesn't really take to long so I much prefer making my own
I was making pumpkin bread today and I opened a can of pumpkin purée. Is that ok to feed LO? I wasn't sure because: 1. Is that stuff cooked? I feel like it must be. And 2. Is canned food ok?
I just use our blender, but MH just saved up money to buy a really nice one and I only did bananas in our old one. I do have to add water but not a ton. I bought a silicon tray thing to freeze portions in. We've only done oatmeal, banana, and pear so far; next up will be butternut squash and then avocado, I think.
We've done carrots, avocado, spinach (store bought), and peas. For most I'm just blending it up in my baby bullet thing. I am only doing it every so often though because he still isn't eating solids regularly.
I have a stupid question. How do you defrost the cubes when ready to eat?
I just use the microwave when in a pinch. If I think ahead, I'll take it out and leave it on the counter in a cup. Sometimes I put that cup in hot water. Supposedly the microwave zaps nutrients or something, but whatever.
Oh, and I'm totally nosey. But what brings you to paris? DH job? Is he Parisian? How long will you live there? Do you like it? Lol, these are the things I think when you post. I need your life story, ha!

Thanks! I just started making food and not sure how to store all of it. So.. Life story... Worked for Abercrombie as a manager in the states and received an opportunity to move abroad. I moved here in 2011 and opened the first hollister in Paris. I basically stepped off the plane not speaking French, took a three month language course and then had to recruit in the streets over 300 people to work for me. We did crazy business, like almost 110,000 euros a day. Anyways, it was a crazy experience and when I had off time, I traveled everywhere and partied my butt off. I met DH, who is French, in a bar and it's been happily ever after. We got married in January and had a baby in August. I hated it here at first but Paris has really grown on me and when I go back and visit family, Paris just seems like home now. I think we will stay for a good amount of time because DH has a good job and insurance here is great. Sorry if that was too much information, I'm always excited to tell my story.

Def not too much info! So cool that you did that. The language barrier would have terrified me!
acarpediem that is such an amazing story! I want to be jealous but am mostly just incredibly impressed.
Ummm baby food… I thought I posted last night? My memory sucketh. I use our steamer pot, my blender, and an Infantino Squeeze Station for pouches and/or tiny tupperware jars for storage. The pouches are great but they hold 4oz each and LO generally only eats 2oz at each meal. Still, it's really easy and fun to make the pouches. I have both disposable pouches and reusable ones. We haven't really made enough to freeze much, just the stuff we are sending with him to DC at the end of the week gets frozen and thawed the night before.
I'm hoping to make spinach and banana (separately) this weekend. So far we have done butternut squash, sweet potatoes, peas, and pears. I'm making smaller batches because of food allergy concerns (runs in our families). Once we know foods are safe for him, we'll make much more and freeze more.
We've made everything LO has eaten so far (minus the rice cereal and oatmeal, but plan on making it in the future)... LO has had applesauce, green beans, pears, avocado, and this week we try bananas. I just steam the item, if needed, and Puree it in our Vitamix with a little breast milk. I'll portion it out into stainless steel ice cube trays and freeze. Once they're frozen, I'll transfer to a ziplock freezer bag and label and date. So easy and convenient!

I'm also baffled by the pouches. It seems like a pain if your are out because then you have to bring the pouch, a spoon and a dish to pour the pouch in, no? And it seems easier to close up a jar or tupperwear if there are any leftovers.
These spoons attach to the pouches so it's easy on the go too- no need for a bowl. They are also not as heavy or breakable as glass jars so the transport is easier since I'm carrying so much to work/DC every day.
I was given the pouches and station as a gift at my shower. So far, it's been great and I will continue to use them.
Our pouches are 4oz but he's eating half at a time, so 2 oz. It's fine since we are using the pouch within 2 days of making it/defrosting. I may look into those little green pouches! That's awesome, redhorizon343 thanks for sharing!
I just read about the Infantino Squeeze Station today, and I will be purchasing one tomorrow, lol. My coworker's 2-year-old LOVES the pouches from Whole Foods, and I kept thinking how much of a bummer it was that because I'm going to make my own baby food, that LO won't be able to use those little pouches. They're really good for establishing independent eating habits at an early age-- they can feed themselves before they're really able to manage fine motor skills.
Also, as an aside, when I was house-hunting a couple weeks ago, one of the homes had a little plastic rack attached to the bottom of their cabinet to hold those pouches. I thought that was... humorous.
