Clearly we are generally informed that Outlander exists, and that it is amazing. I would have to assume that there are several of us seeking new material however! Please put your suggestions here. As for me;
The Magicians (trilogy) by Lev Grossman A Discovery of Witches (trilogy) by Deborah Harkness The Thinking Woman's Guide to Real Magic (do we see a theme here?) The Martian The Girl on the Train The Girl With All the Gifts Golden Compass series
These are only recent recommendations. I'm terrible at lists like these because I can never remember what I read and loved. I also have not read very much since my DD was born... Between her and school and the distraction of social media, I don't read nearly as much as I used to.
The All Souls Trilogy (book 1- A Discovery of Witches) is probably my 2nd favorite series. It's being made into a TV show, which makes me extremely happy!
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini Sky of Red Poppies by Zohreh Ghahremani Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen The Hunger Games series The Divergent series Still Missing by Chevy Stevens The Ninth Life of Louis Drax by Liz Jensen (the writing style is strange and kind of seems lazy, but once you get beyond that, the story is interesting)

I love to read, but mostly epic fantasy stuff and manga.
(series) The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson (omgomg SO amazing and intricate) (series) Lightbringer by Brent Weeks (series) The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss
And I also love cozies. Right now my favorites are about a cheese shop in Ohio, the series is by Avery Aames (a pseudonym). Come on, there are titles like The Long Quiche Goodbye. XD I love it.

Anything by Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl, Dark places, Sharp Objects) Yes Please - Amy Phoeler Bossy Pants - Tina Fey Operating Instructions - Anne Lamott I heart my Little A-holes - Karen Alpert Toddlers are A- holes (And it's not your fault) - Bunmi Laditan
And never forget Harry Potter!!! Always worth a re-read... Always.
I can't even list how many times I've re-read HP. It's just gross; I am hoping (without any reason to believe it will happen) that they will remake the movies even bigger and better than last time someday soon-ish.
ellabee - you and my husband have very similar tastes! He keeps telling me I need to read Ready Player One. He's read all the ones you listed except Book Thief.... I will tell him he should read it Also FYI - Unbroken is way brutal. But a good one. I can't bring myself to watch the movie if it's anything like the book.
jwinct did you know there is a prequel to the divergent series called "Four" written from Tobias's perspective? I just found out a few days ago. It's on my to-read list too.

Yes. I've had it on my Kindle for quite a while, but haven't gotten to it yet.
jwinct, i have read, and loved, almost every book on your list. Very similar tastes!

I will read anything by Stephen King
I LOVED Room, but I feel very ambivalent about the movie... I'm not convinced that some of the relationship between mother and son can be accurately articulated on screen.
Also, I met Emma Donoghue once! She's really cool.
