Hi ladies
I am considering purchasing a belly band, as I could use a little extra support and it looks like a good way to continue to wear my regular clothes. They aren't that expensive, but I'm afraid it will just roll or not really work, or who knows. Has anyone tried one? Are they worth getting?
I wore one every day of my first pregnancy starting around 24 weeks or so to help keep my scrub bottoms up and to fill the gap between my scrub top and bottoms for work. I also wore one a lot with my regular jeans pretty far into that pregnancy too. I am a huge fan and am going to start wearing one again soon. I didn't have any issues with it rolling and I really liked the snug feeling it gave me.
Also, after DS was born, I used them as a way to use my breast pump hands-free. I cut 2 holes in them where the flanges went and it worked awesome for that while I was pumping at home. Obviously, now I have to buy new ones though!

I had a couple the first time and it was worthless. It rolled on me and never stayed in place properly. It could just be my body but I'm not wasting the money this time.
I had the Bella band and loved it for early in the pregnancy. Once I switched to maternity pants I stopped wearing it. I never had an issue with it rolling and it was great when I just couldn't button my pants but.now they would be like fully unzipped so that's a no go. It wasn't supprtive though so if you want support you probably need one that is more of a brace. The one I had was maybe just a little tighter than the tops of regular maternity pants.

Do you just mean the stretchy/spandexy ones? This pregnancy, I'm already too far along for mine to have any benefit. The best time/use for me was when I switched to maternity pants that were still a bit big in the waist. But with that - it still rolled around and never stayed put.
babyzebra what brand did you wear? Mine rolled and were useless, but I feel like I need the support now.
I used the Bella band. It never once rolled for me and I wore it until the day I went into labor.
I didn't really use it for support, but more to keep up my non-maternity scrub pants for work. I did really like the compressed and snug feeling it gave me though.
I tried an actual structured belt for support because my job is pretty hard on the back and hips, but I didn't find it useful at all. I can't remember what brand I had, but it was secured with Velcro. I found that for it to be tight enough to give me a feeling of "support" that it was pressing on my belly too much. It could be just me though because I know others who have had good success with that style of belt.

I bought a Bella Band which I've been using with my hiking pants and snow pants because I can't find maternity versions of these (and even if I did it would not be worthwhile spending $$ for something I wear relatively infrequently). It's not great, and often requires adjustment, especially because I'm usually very active while wearing it (hiking, snowshoeing). But it's definitely better than wearing totally inappropriate pants and freezing my ass off and/or getting wet.
