I started wearing maternity shit by like week 8. Sorry, I'd rather be comfortable, and as a bigger girl, I was growing out of my jeans quite quickly. Just because you're 'not showing' while completely dressed doesn't mean you're not growing. How annoying. And like girlfriend said above, no one should comment on ANYONE's weight. That's just bs.

My bitchfest is with my immune system. I had to call my OB/GYN office and get prescribed a Z-Pak for whatever this shit is that I have. I ended up having a snow day at work yesterday (which is so amazing because I work for a research hospital.... lol) so luckily I had an extra day to recuperate, but damn if I don't still feel like shit today.

And also husband and I have been at each other's throats off and on the past week or so, it's been really lovely. Sorry for TMI, but we literally started arguing in the middle of sex the other night, had to stop, and then like seven seconds later got back to business. So weird. I can say I'm fortunate that our arguments don't last long (regardless if they're mid-coitus or not lol)

DH decided to look after a co-worker's cat while she and her boyfriend are both deployed (I agreed). We've looked after others' cats before in our home with no issue, but since this cat came, our cats have peed/pooped in the house 6 times (in 3 places I've found). As soon as we locked the cats in the garage for the second time (after incident 4, the first 3 being on day 1), I said we needed to come up with an alternative solution for the litter box if they peed inside again. DH: "OK, you're right." Incident 5 - "Oh, we just need to move the beanbag chair, because then they won't pee in the house." "That's not going to resolve it." "But it might." "We should figure out a place inside for the cat pans, because otherwise they'll find new places to do it." "I'm going to move the beanbag chair and let the cats back in." "I really think we need to move one of the litter boxes." "No, I'm doing it my way." Of course, the next morning, the clean cloth diapers are soaked in cat piss AGAIN.

I've had enough of my annoying coworker who decided to announce her pregnancy at work yesterday. She told me she POAS and there was a very faint line... so that's why she decided to tell everyone yesterday. She is 4 weeks pregnant!

This morning I was in the kitchen getting coffee and she's like "I did another test today and the line was darker". OK? I don't want to talk about your pee sticks lady!!

I'm trying to figure out how to passive aggressively give her the same shitty pregnancy advice that she has bestowed upon me for the past five months!

I am assuming jerk co-worker has not been pregnant before and has never experienced the magic of maternity clothes. THEY ARE THE BEST. They accentuate the bump and fit more comfortably. Especially maternity jeans. I hope when she gets pregnant and tries on her first pair of maternity pants she realizes how ignorant she was.

Ugh. What a rough way to start the day. Warning: multiple F-bombs ahead.

Mine is that I am so fucking clumsy and DH is a procrastinator. I got a new phone in October. Dropped it and shattered the screen in November. Got a replacement (thank god Motorola was actually helpful; it wasn't cheap but could've been MUCH worse). DH was supposed to get me a case for Christmas, so I didn't get one right away. He didn't. So last week I drop it again. Just a crack in the screen, but still totally functional. Told him that I wanted to go get a case the next day rather than pay to get the fucking thing replaced again. He told me to wait because neither of us is super happy with the phone (we both got the same one in Oct.), so he wanted to see if we could trade them in. A week later he still hasn't actually wanted to go to the store to do that. OR to get a case.

Guess what happens last night? I drop it again. Fuck. This time on carpet, so it should be OK, right? Nope. The screen didn't crack more, but now the touch screen doesn't work. The thing is fucking unusable. I really did not want to have to shell out for a new phone, but now it looks like I'll have to. I'm starting to think I should just get one of those old school unbreakable Nokias or Motorola flip phones. Or no phone. I can be a luddite, right?

Tl;dr: I'm so clumsy that I've broken two phones since November. DH keeps putting off getting new ones or getting cases. Now I have no phone.

My bitch is that everyday has been like Groundhog's day for the last month. Freezeing temps, snow, same gray sky with no sunshine. Same long ass walk into work, same miserable look on everyones face, DH is still miserable from working 60 hour weeks. We've gotten a lot done on the weekends, getting the house in order and working on the nursery, but it's been so long since I just had FUN! We are planning our Babymoon to Jamaica in March, but the date is up in the air. My sisters due date is 2/26 and if she goes late and we are out of town, I will never hear the end of it. Somethings gotta give!!!

Yeah! They really are the best. Plus when I am pregnant I cannot stand anything tight/constrictive on me anywhere. I don't know if it's because I'm swollen or what but I go up in size when I buy maternity clothes because I like everything loose when I am pregnant. My bitch (of the week, really) is my brother (22 yrs old). He lives with us, which he's done during breaks all through college. Well he graduated in Dec, so he's been with us full time since Nov 1 and he's DRIVING US CRAZY!!! He makes messes everywhere, uses all our stuff, takes our TV...we have to repeatedly chase after him about everything. So this past weekend, his fiancée and her friend wanted to stay over on Thurs night to catch a train from Philly to NYC on Fri. I said ok. So Saturday, he tells us they also want to stay over Sunday night before they go back to college and have a Super Bowl party at our house. I told him that it was ok for his fiancée and her friend to sleep at our house if they were leaving early in the AM but that he could NOT have a SB party or have anyone over other than them. He agreed. So Sunday afternoon, he tells us his best man is sleeping over too (doesn't ask, just tells me). I try to be nice so I say ok, just sleeping. So at 9pm, while we're watching tv and winding down, they all come home from watching the SB. They take all the games out of our entertainment center and take them to my brothers room. Then half an hour later, he comes out and makes them all drinks from OUR bar! Then at 11:00, when we're trying to go to bed (cuz, you know, we're adults who work) we can hear them talking and laughing, and then my brother goes into the kitchen and starts making them a huge meal with our food and being super loud! DH goes out and yells at him. The next morning, I went to the dr's and when I got back, his fiancée and her friend were leaving. They were super polite and thanked me for having them, obviously unaware that my brother had been told not to do what he did. Then I go inside and my bro and his friend are lounging all over my living room, watching tv and eating a huge breakfast that my brother had made for all of them with - you guessed it - our food! I didn't want to make his friend feel badly so I just ignored them, got my stuff and left for work. My DH texts me at 4:30pm and tells me that when he got home from work, the friend was still there and the house was a mess! He'd finally had enough and kicked them out. My brother immediately left for his girlfriend's college and hasn't said a word since. Clearly, he knows he's in huge trouble.

He rents a room from us; does not pay any expenses other than the minuscule amount we charge him for that (less than 1/10 of our overall rent). He is NOT a roommate with equal house rights. He doesn't seem to get it, no matter how many times we tell him that.

My next move is to tell him that, for the rest of the time he lives with us, he can not have anyone over except his fiancée and she has to coordinate her visit directly with me. DH wants to just kick him out. Opinions?

ladymouse - I'm not cat expert, but how many litter boxes do you have?  I believe it's 2 per cat to cut down on peeing outside the box.

mcp6286 - I'm team "kick him out."  Time for him to grow up and have some responsibility. Does he have a job?  If so, I'd give him a couple weeks notice.  If not, I'd give him a couple weeks notice to get a job, get enough saved for a security deposit, and then kick him out.


My bitch is that my boss is working from home this morning because we have a huge deposition this week.  He keeps calling me every 10 minutes to talk about the case or something he found.  And asking why I haven't gotten in touch with the experts I'm trying to contact.  I finally told him I need to be off the phone with him if he wants me calling other people.

mcp6286 I'm with billyhorrible. Kick him out. It'd be one thing if you hadn't told him that he couldn't have a party, but you did, then he threw a de facto party anyway. That kind of behavior requires your own place.

If you don't want to just kick him to the curb, I would sit him down and talk to him about what being a respectful cohabitant means. Within that conversation I would tell him that he has three options:
1. to pay his fair share of rent (1/3 or a fair number based on his room size and the communal space he has access to) and utilities (also 1/3), but he should not use your food unless he pays a share of the grocery bill,
2. to continue paying basically nothing, but to act as indebted to you as he is,
3. move out and live like the adult he should be, having graduated from college.

If it's option 1 or 2, he should act like a decent human being and respect your lifestyle. If it's option 1, you'll all need to have a conversation about what's fair to him as well because if he's pulling his full weight he would have rights as an equal roommate.

We had a similar situation with my husband's cousin two summers ago.  They were really close, like brothers, but the living arrangement got to me very quickly.  The intent was for him to stay with us so he could find a job and save up a decent amount of money to get his own place.  DH even hooked him up with a job at his work.  We had specific terms, he had to find his own place by September.  In the meantime, he paid a minuscule amount of rent.  Well, almost near the end of the summer, we found out his intention was to move back in with his parents' in another state.  It felt like a slap in the face, like he was only living with us to take advantage of the super low rent, then move home to sit on his rear at his parents' with all the money he earned off of the new job.  DH was upset because it made him look bad to the company to refer him only to have him bail a few months later.  It would have been one thing if he made the clear up front, we would have taken a different approach to the living arrangement for sure. We gave him two weeks to get out, only because we wanted to make sure DH's work got his two weeks notice. He wasn't even crossing the line nearly as much as it sounds like your brother is in terms of respecting our household and I barely lasted a summer with him.

What kind of conditions did you set upon agreeing for him to live with you? Any timeline or anything like that?  If expectations were laid out up front, I think it's perfectly reasonable to give him a time frame to move out.  If it's possible he misunderstood your expectations or wasn't given any ground rules, maybe a family meeting to go over it and give him a second chance.  I know having been in your place only since December isn't that long for a college student to get on his feet, but it isn't fair to you if he isn't going to respect you and your home.

@kej0004 yeah it's a strange situation...he works full time (or close to it) in retail. He's not trying to get a job in his field b/c after he and his fiancée get married in July, they're moving to South Korea to teach English. When I first graduated college, I worked full time in retail and barely scraped by. A family friend let me rent a room and bathroom inexpensively, which helped me so much, so I was trying to pay it forward with my brother. However, I acted like a guest in her home and went out of my way to stay out of her path and not disrupt her life.

The other complicating factor is that when he moves out at the end of May, his fiancée is moving in. She's going to swap us room and board for full-time child care till the end of July, when they leave. She's a delightful human being and I know having her will be no problem, so I don't want to lose my summer childcare if my brother gets mad about being kicked out. That's the only reason I'm even contemplating letting him stay. Usually with me, if you cross me once you get my full wrath, no mercy.

3. Making a joke about getting rid of one's in-laws when we're talking about how our building maintenance guy is doing, because he was driving the car in an accident that killed both of his in-laws over the weekend and is clearly devastated.

I mean, really, is there any empathy or consideration of other human beings in there? I'm so glad I get to come in late on Thursday and miss an hour of him this week.

If you choose setting new rules over kicking him out, I think that having his fiancée coordinate her visits through you is a little over the top because you're saying that he's not adult enough to handle even something that easy. To be fair, he hasn't really shown you that he IS adult enough, but I would still give the responsibility to him. Let him know that she is the ONLY person who is allowed to spend the night and he has to let you know if she's coming 24 hours in advance (or however many days you set). Add in that he's responsible for buying his own food or contributing to your food budget and explain how his behavior this past weekend made you guys feel used and disrespected in your home. Then let him know that you'll ask him to move out if he chooses to not honor your house rules in the future, with no more chances given.

If you choose to kick him out, though, I don't blame you. Just tell him that this situation is no longer working out and you expect him to be out by a certain day. Good luck! I couldn't handle living in the same house with either of my brothers for even a full day. I don't know how you've lasted this long!

I tried doing ours today and am baffled at how we could possibly owe. Scheduled an appointment with a tax accountant to try and figure it out. We've never owed AND we bought a house in 2014. So much stress rage since we *just* dropped the equivalent amount to re-carpet our stairs and entire second floor.

@demanda88 you kind of sound like my DH, just he is one of those CPA's that is a self proclaimed tax expert.  he does some of his friends' taxes and messes their taxes and our taxes up every year.  I am a CPA too, but I know my limits since DH and I do nothing actually related to taxes for a living, and if people ask me for tax advice, I tell them to go elsewhere.  But I contend if I did our family taxes they would probably be more accurate than DH.

We have owed several thousand dollars a year for the past few years, but I am hoping this year will be different since we changed to "married but withholding at a higher rate".

My bitch for today: My family is having a reunion in July and my brother and his gf are planning on coming and staying at my house before and after (2-3 days total). They want to meet the baby and whatnot, which I'm totally fine with. I adore them, and they won't expect me to entertain them. My step-mom, however, is a PITA and just recently informed me that she would also be staying with me during this time. But that's not it. It will be her, her daughter, her daughter's bf (they've been dating for all of 3 months), and her granddaughter (a very spoiled 7 year old). I do not live in a mansion. Plus...I will have a one month old! ARGH!!!
