One of the toys DD got is French.
And she loves it. (It's the fisher price air port. )
And I mean considering they're changing kindergarten here to 50/50 French, maybe it's a good thing but it sort of drives me nuts I don't know what it's saying all the time ?
We have the receipt to exchange. A part of me thinks maybe it's good to be exposed to French so early, especially considering we're in a government city and French is prominent. But I'm also torn.
I like toys that have a switch and we have the option, but this one doesn't have that.

This is my first time being on TCF for a pregnancy. I have always been in TB. I like it here soooooo much better! But I'm wondering do folks over here do labor buddies? I know we are still a bit out but I was just wondering?

You would do a sign up and whoever wanted to participate would be assigned another mommy. When your labor buddy goes into labor you keep the board updated! Some of us exchanged phone numbers to text or FB names to message. With my first the board did not go long after our kids but with my daughter we created a Facebook board and we are all still very close (all of our LOs just turned 4) so we have been together close to 5 years!! I love my labor buddy like a lifelong friend!
We bought a pint of almond gelato last night and also a pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Best decision ever. I was jealous that my husband got to pour alcohol over his delicious dessert though.
I'm all for doing labor buddies! I also like this board so much better than the bump. This sounds terrible, but it's definitely a different group of people. Less drama and stupid questions, more support.
GOmamab15, so sorry to hear about your H's grandmother. I hope that she is able to make a good recovery and that he and his family can keep the communication open.
txmommy14, sounds like a rough day. I'm kind of side-eyeing the pediatrician. Your job is to worry and if your kid isn't bearing any weight on his leg and then has major swelling after bloodwork, you have every right to worry!! I hope that things get figured out soon and he starts to feel better. The ice cream sounds delicious!!
GOmamab15 I'm really sorry to hear about your DH's grandmother.
2dogs2kids I'm not sure how I would respond if anyone ever told me that I wasn't aloud to stay home for being sick.
broadwaymama if your DH is anything like mine, there is no way he could ever keep a secret like that.
txmommy14 I'm really sorry to hear about your time at the doctor. I totally would have done the CBC too, but I can understand why you feel guilty. I hope you can get some resolution soon.
My best friend came down for a visit today and we went out for brunch, which is my favorite even though I can't have a mimosa I ordered the sweetest, gooiest thing on the menu. This is definitely cravings at work, I am obsessed with sweets right now, while normally someone could tell me I was never going to have dessert again and I'd be pretty much fine with it.
txmommy14 Your child can't walk, do they really expect you to be casual and relaxed about that? And if my arm had a golf ball sized swelling on it I would freak out, let alone if it was happening to my kid.
And she loves it. (It's the fisher price air port. )

I love toys in foreign languages and often switch DS's to Spanish mode. He also loves to watch you tube shows in other languages as well. I'm all for more exposure younger.

txmommy14,that sucks. I hated it when DS had to have his blood drawn and they never really messed it up that badly!!! Hang in there. Praying it all gets resolved soon and DS feels better!
I'm sorry txmommy14, that sounds really stressful.
It's warm here, 75 degrees. I feel at least 20% larger in this warmer weather or perhaps I'm just giant. Today I tried on a dress I bought when pregnant with DS. I have a picture of me wearing it at 8 months pregnant. At this very moment I look very nearly spot on with the picture, not 100% but nearly. This can't be good.

I don't mind facilitating it at all! I wasn't sure if it was something anyone would be interested in. It was very helpful to keep everyone updated when I couldn't, and it was so exciting getting texts from my LB!
txmommy14 I'm so sorry! Don't let anyone make you feel bad for feeling like a parent. Your feelings are normal and I'm sure any of us would be just as upset. Your poor son and poor you. I hope you get some answers and he feels better very soon.
I'm sorry everyone is sick! I hope everyone feels better very soon. My dh leaves tomorrow for two weeks. I need to put my big girl pants on and buck up. I know it's going to be stressful, but ds needs me to be to be fun, patient mama. My sweet tooth has grown in the last two weeks. I'm eating so many sweet. I bought my self strawberries the last couple days and I finish the carton every night. I've also tried eating yogurt instead of sweets. I'm trying my hardest to not cave and eat every thing in sight, but I'm not doing too well. Here comes the weight gain!

txmommy14 I definitely missed your update earlier - I am so effing sorry, that's messed up.
For what it's worth, not walking until 18 months is still within the norm, despite it feeling "late". (As everyone kept reminding me when I was worried because DD was a later walker at almost 16 months.) I know that doesn't change your experiences or worries though.
I'm sorry for this super shitty experience. I hope someone can give you answers. All the hugs, mama.
How is your DS handling everything?? I can imagine this being overwhelming and hard for him too
cattuccino, I'm definitely not worried about this because he walked at 18 months-it's just exhausting because he walked that late with physical therapy, then broke his leg, and now he's almost 2, and poor guy only got to practice walking for a couple of months.
He is okay, he is adapting. He cries and collapses any time we try to get him to stand or walk, but his crawling around as if everything is normal. He was really fussy at first, but I think the ibuprofen is relieving his pain as long as he doesn't put weight on the leg.
I'm almost embarrassed to go anywhere (park, library time, etc.) because I don't want to have to explain to people who ask me what's going on, but I also don't want to keep him cooped up.
Thanks soultrane, and everyone else, for making me feel not so crazy! I'm side-eyeing his pediatrician too and talked to DH today about whether we should switch. However, he's been with her since he's been born, and I don't know-it's hard to switch doctors when you know them and they know your kid. I usually do like her. She's super laid back which I really like and is good for my personality, but sometimes it can be annoying. We'll see what this week brings and if he improves at all.
txmommy14 ahh I feel like an idiot and didn't even process that aspect. I'm Sorry for my ignorance.
I'm sorry it's been so hard for all of you. I want to say go out and do what you want to keep both of your spirits up, but completely understand your worries and concerns, too.
txmommy14, I just want to send you some more hugs because I understand the anxiety and the frustration, and the embarrassment which isn't something parents are really allowed to talk about usually. We've talked about late walkers before since DS was a late walker, but having to explain to people why your toddler is crawling when the 10 month old next to them is running around can be heartbreaking. I hope that whatever this issue is clears up quickly and he's running around again soon!

I'm sorry txmommy14. My research is on toddler walking and I'm afraid 18 months is not within typical range, so I'm glad you addressed it with PT. If I were you, I would be wondering about an mri to check the knee ligaments. Has he had any falls lately where he twisted his knee? Are you seeing a pediatric orthopedist or only pcp so far? Pcp might be out of her depth--see if you can get a referral.

If my butting in is not appreciated, I apologize.
Thanks so much! His orthopedist he saw for his broken leg is also aware and involved, and he's diagnosing it as the same thing for now (toxic synovitis), so now I'm panicked every morning he wakes up and it's not better. He hasn't had any accidents or falls-in fact we were both with him when he suddenly turned from walking to crawling in pain. We are waiting for a call now about his blood work!

Not ignorance at all, don't be sorry!! Thanks so much
