I had a d/c fit post partum issues too. They told me to pump and dump for 24 hours. I got a list of the exact meds and looked them up in my Mother's Milk book. Absolutely no need to pump and dump for me. I did pump and dump the first thing after, but that was just for my peace of mind.

I went under general after a spinal failed during childbirth and they had to do an emergency c section. I fed her right after I woke up and no one said anything so I am guessing your good
Yeah you can call infant risk and have them look up the meds. but general anesthesia meds are short acting with a short half life, otherwise if they stayed in your system longer you'd stay asleep longer.
I had a D&C after my last son's birth for a post partum infection. I talked to the anesthesiologist about it and he's like yeah some references suggest pumping and dumping, but with the short half life of the meds as soon as you are awake they are out of your system. so the hospital might suggest a pump and dump it's for a cover your ass liability reason rather than an actual medical reason.

Are you sure that you'll be under general anesthesia for a D&C? When I had one due to a missed miscarriage, they gave me what they called "twilight sleep". It was different (more gentle) than general anesthesia. I told everyone that I was breastfeeding, and I know they made some changes to more "breastfeeding-friendly" medications. My son was 2 at the time, so pumping and dumping wasn't that big a deal and so I pumped and dumped one time after the procedure just to be safe. They assured me that it would be fine even if I didn't pump and dump at all, though. Hope this procedure fixes the problem. Sucks to have to go through all this!
I had wisdom teeth pulled when dd was 11 months and I was still nursing. The dentist at the consult originally told me to pump and dump for 48 hours. The dentist that actually did the surgery told me to pump and dump once just in case. Since dd was at daycare while I had it done, I did pump and dump once but then pumped and kept it and then nursed when we picked her up.
