"What's the difference between the people of Dubai and the people of Abu Dhabi?"
"The people of Dubai don't watch the Flintstones but the people of Abu Dhabi Do."
1. Another snow day. Except it is 50 degrees and raining... (We got 3" of snow yesterday, then it iced over, and it didn't warm up/rain as early as anticipated so school is cancelled.) Argh.
2. L has to go to a meeting today so I stayed home. We are meeting friends for lunch and then go to their house to let the kids play. I needed to get the kids out of the house.
3. We had a lazy snow day yesterday (although we were all off for the holiday.) L didn't feel well so we all were on different levels of our house reading/sleeping/watching tv/playing video games (kids.) I did kick the kids outside to play in the snow with the neighbors for a bit.
4. It is pouring. It is a great weather for taking a nap.
5. Daytime tv is bad. There is nothing on.
6. I would like to take a vacation.
7. I am ready for summer. Sitting my our friend's pool with a beer while the kids swim sounds awesome.
8. I can't wait for warmer weather so the kids can stop with so much screen time and play outside.
9. Watching the property shows on tv makes me want to move. Brand new construction for 177k? Yes, please.
10. Off to prod the kids into clothes and venture out in the rain.
1. kekaellypula GL today! 2. MW has been sick since Friday, so we haven't been able to get out for family walks or to the dog park. Hoping she feels better so we and the pups can get out of the house. 3. It is going to be 90 effing degrees today. 4. Apparently, Mila is entering a leap which should explain why she has been fussy and not sleeping very well. At least this morning she woke up smiling. 5. I don't mind being at work to avoid most of this ridiculous hot weather. 6. I hit my first goal in my mission to get back into shape after having a baby. 7. I cannot drink enough coffee today. 8. Being at work alone, after a 4 day weekend, makes getting caught up so much easier. 9. My 5 month old is now wearing 6-9 month onesies and 9-12 month pants. 10. We watched the movie "Blue Is The Warmest Color" this weekend for the first time.
2. She is adorable with a bald head, though she keeps it covered all the time even at home so her head doesn't get cold.
3. Yesterday we went shopping for new floors for the house we'll be moving into down here in CA. Very long story short it's one of my parent's rentals and J and I lived in it in college, my sister convinced them to put in laminate instead of replace the carpet. Yay!
4. I'm meeting with my cousin tomorrow to discuss a possible job opportunity.
5. Everything seems to be clicking into place for our move in June.
6. It is 90* here and the lack of fall and winter weather will be one things I'll miss most about Portland.
7. I ordered an AC seat thing for my car, bc while black leather works in a temperate climate I'll be dying for most of the year without one in CA.
8. The one friend I still have on SoCal that I truly like will probably be out of the country for most of our time down here.
9. Finding good friends is a serious concern of mine.
10. I think I'm going to get my Cavalier while we're down here though. Eek! I have wanted one for 20 years, since I was a little girl, and one of my college acquaintances introduced me to the breeder she got her girl from.

1. I'm writing this holding a dozing M. Usually she's really good about napping in her bed but today that doesn't seem to be the case.
2. We are so impressed with how strong M is. When she lifts her head, you can see all of her back muscles. Yesterday during tummy time she was lifting her head and legs so only her torso was on the ground.
3. We've been going for morning walks and she really seems to really like them. I like them too!
4. I'm really looking forward to spending the weekend with C. I love being a parent with her.
5. Over the last week, we've been slowly building up a freezer supply of milk. It's comforting to know it's there. Next week we are going to try a bottle for the first time. I'm excited for when CET can feed her too.
CET's
6. It's warm here again, like 90, but is going to rain tomorrow. I can't keep up.
7. I went to Panama this weekend for a quick trip for the first time. Narrow country is narrow! Went on a heli tour, and it only took 15 mins one side to the other.
8. I have a court hearing tomorrow that really doesn't need to happen....but people are stubborn, so there goes my day.
9. I'm excited for the weekend too, it'll be nice to just be the three of us for a few days to catch up and talk. Lots of visitors means lots of help while I"m at work, but we don't get much time to just be together.
10. I got woken up this morning at 4am by M sucking loudly on her fingers that she'd wiggled out of her swaddleme somehow. Baby is a houdini.

1. kekaellypula I hear ya with the snow. We got 20+ inches since midnight. It's insane.
2. cetcar O used to get out of her swaddleme all the time too. We used to call her 'baby T-rex' because both hands would be popped out.
3. Ugh, snow. It's been an extremely mild winter this year but we got hammered. Thankfully M's office ended up closing so she was able to be home with O. I shoveled snow for about 3 hours so far and will be going back out after bath time.
4. I'm disappointed that the job that we thought was going to be a great fit for M kind of fizzled out. They may have something next school year but she will give birth in August so that might not be great timing. We are really struggling to find good jobs.
5. I wish I was training more. I'm really unhappy with myself when I can't train and it's been 18 months now.
6. I really want to cancel my job interview for my 3rd job Thursday but I really shouldn't.
7. O's speech is just exploding lately. She says all kinds of funny stuff.
8. My dad helped me diy a standing desk at home. (I have a standing station at work). I really love it, it's better than I thought it would be.
9. I am really ready for the weekend and it's only Tuesday!

1. kekaellypula, crossing my fingers that the IUI went well and you get a positive result! 2. I haven't been sleeping well lately which is making me cranky. 3. We're going to a wedding this weekend, it will be a nice excuse for a weekend getaway... we really need it. 4. The basement reno is dragging, I am grateful we were able to swing it, but my patience is dwindling the longer it takes. We're moving into week 6 of what they said would be a 3 week job.
... I'm fading, I'll see if I can finish off tomorrow!
1. Ellis is learning so much every day. It's really fascinating to watch her body and brain grow
2. She's 26 weeks and will be 6 months on Thursday.
3. She sat unassisted for a few seconds at a time many times today and for 10 seconds at one point.
4. She can crawl/scoot backwards impressively quickly
5. We went out this afternoon to a "baby show" at the young people's theater with a friend and her baby. Ellis and that baby totally interacted. They grabbed each other's hands and hand so much fun looking at each other.
6. We screwed up 2 of 4 naps going to the show. But I've done almost nothing outside the apartment since we started sleep training 11 days ago to make sure all naps happened.
7. I told manada that one of the things I'm looking forward to about going back to work is that I won't be responsible for Ellis's naps and therefore won't be obsessed about her sleep. I know I need to relax about it but i can't.
8. I feel like I'm getting a cold or a sinus infection.
9. My mom and one of my brothers come next week
10. This Saturday is our 5 year dating anniversary!
****loss and living child discussed***** We're queer. I'm 34, have severe stage 4 endo, and both fallopian tubes are gone. My love ("Manada" 33) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tav.in and Ca.sey at 21 weeks gestation.
1. kekaellypula Hope your IUI went well! We're thinking V's will happen either Thursday or Friday.
2. kekaellypula Great joke! I told my wife, and she was cracking up.
3. @justjudy I hear you about the friends thing. I have a pretty small circle of close friends, and I love them, but we don't all live close together. Also, they are my college friends. I think it's kind of hard to make friends as an adult not being in school.
4. Like some of you and your families, I am also sick. Sooo, Numbers 5-10 on this Tuesday are dedicated to getting extra sleep tonight.

I know its wednesday but I have been wanting to update the group on what is happening with us and I missed monday check in so now I'm doing a TTT in order to cram everything into one nice little package... 1. Hayden is doing amazing...she's so cute but is starting to experience a little bit of separation anxiety. I am not sure what is triggering it (whether its that she doesn't like the babysitter (who is here monday or friday) or whether she is really struggling with being away from me. 2. We have 2 sitters now, one is here mondays and fridays and the other is here tuesday, wednesday and thursdays. Its so nice to have someone to help with the girls on those days but one sitter seems to be far superior to the other. We are going to take it day by day but I fear I will soon have to make a decision to let the monday/friday person go. I took a job working from home so I could be home with my kids but now its hard because I have to deal with things like sitters...I guess its a pretty privileged problem to have. 3. We go in for another ultrasound tomorrow and I am so freaked about it. Last week we had an u/s and everything looked okay but they couldn't capture the heartbeat on the doppler (we could see the flicker but they said it was too early to catch it in sound). I keep trying to tell myself that we'll make it no matter what but this feeling really sucks. 4. I need to get my health back in order...I've gone a bit out of control. I don't do well with no plan to follow and I haven't had many food aversions so my brain seems to think means "eat everything and anything in sight". Anyone use a nutritionist or program during pregnancy? 5. I know I live in Ohio and its winter but I am so sick of the snow and cold. I can never get warm. 6. So the TWTH Babysitter just got here and Hayden is so far so good...its only been a few minutes so we'll see how today goes...I don't want to fire the MF Babysitter but if my kid doesn't like her then what is the point...ugh...I hate being an adult. 7. I am also currently watching The Walking Dead Mid-season premier on my phone...my dad has been hounding me and Chris doesn't like watching it anymore...so here I sit watching TWD while doing my TTT and not working...no bueno 8. Is it dumb that I am worried that I haven't been throwing up? Infertility brain sucks. 9. Well...the "no tears" lasted for about 3 minutes...I am hoping the babysitter can redirect her...I hate feeling like I'm hiding from her. 10. Thats a no-go....anyone have tips for separation anxiety???
1. This will have to be my Wednesday 10. OK? Great!
2. William is napping in his crib, and Lucie is napping in her swing. Ahhh! I should clean the downstairs bathroom, but that is nothing happening right now.
3. I NEED to make myself write I out Lucie's birth story, but I just haven't found the time. It is really hard to find more than 10 mins of free time where both of my hands are free and I can actually get the computer out. Maybe I will try to get it started now after I finish this 10...
4. J and I are trying to come up with something to do tomorrow to get us out of the house that does not involve shopping, but isn't a crowded play place that will be a total germ fest for Lu. We would really like to get out as a family of 4 for a little while. So far we have done a few different malls, and usually Lu is either in the stroller or being worn, and that has been fine. I am not sure I am ready to take her to one of the kids' gym/play places that J likes to take William too. I guess I could wear her and it probably wouldn't be much different than the mall, but I am just paranoid about germs.
5. I just got caught up on work email. I am trying to read through everything in my email inbox every 2-3 days so that it isn't ridiculously overwhelming. So far, I have been able to do that. I had last checked email on Monday afternoon, and I had 400 unread messages when I just checked. Took me about an hour to go through everything, forward/respond to a few things, etc. J gets annoyed when I break out the laptop to do work email since I am on leave. For me, it helps keep me in the loop (i.e. I like doing it!), and it also reminds people that I am not totally disconnected, which is important to me.
6. Lucie eats All.The.Time. ... I feel like this kiddo is growing in leaps and bounds. She is already outgrowing outfits that fit her 1-2 weeks ago. I think we need to stop cutting tags off of things before she is ready to wear them.
7. J and I have already talked a little bit about baby #3. Because we are insane. We tentatively agree that we would like to try to have #3 in the early Fall (maybe September)... so that would mean targeting Sept 2017, and that would make Lu about 20 months old and William 3yr 3mo old. That would also mean TTC#3 would be Dec 2016 - Jan 2017. Now that I am writing that out, it seems completely crazytown. We will think about it and talk about it more in a couple of months and see what we think about this..
8. J and I did decide that for any future pregnancy, we will likely be team green again. We really liked being team green this time, and especially since we have a boy and a girl now, we feel like we are ready for whatever we might have and would be equally excited no matter who we have in the future!
9. So.Much.Laundry. How do 4 people create soooo much laundry?
kekaellypula, sending you sticky vibes this cycle! kh826, you are insane! But I do totally get it too rg. #3. ;-)
10 things Wednesday for me.
1. First of all sorry for being MIA. I've been struggling juggling, working, kids, nanny, and my wife travelling 2-3 weeks out of the month. It's craziness around here but we're falling into a rhythm.
2. When EV is travelling I get so tired by the end of the day, whether I'm working out of the house that day, or home with the kids. Last night I fell asleep on the couch watching HGTV at 10pm...
3. Kaden is 3.5 and talkative, bossy and super lovey.
4. Owen is 21 months and full of craziness. He has taken to throwing himself off the furniture onto the couch, often times backwards. But it's so much fun to watch so - oh well!
5. We bought a new dining room table this weekend and I love it. I'm having a hard time finding "affordable" dining room chairs though.
6. I've been doing pretty good eating healthy - choosing exercise (like walking to work). But today is gloomy and overcast and I just had to get a morning bun with my Americano.... Whoops.
7. 20 days until Hawaii.... I realized I need to inventory all the warm weather clothes and likely do some shopping, especially for the boys. I'll put that on the list for this weekend.
8. firstcomeslove2013, I'm with you managing childcare is super stressful. I really like our nanny. Intuitively I feel she's a good fit, but the logistics, and addressing any issues is = blah!. Good luck on tomorrow's u/s!!!
9. After dropping Kaden off at Capoeria yesterday afternoon, Owen and I walked to a local market and picked up things for dinner. Tonight I'm making ham and broccoli. It's hard to fit in cooking, bath and bedtime between 5-7, and I find myself cheating on meals, making mac 'n cheese, or frozen pre-made dinners like pot pie. Needless to say it's not the healthiest.
10. My BFF and I have a phone date tomorrow morning (my day home). Super excited to catch up.
