Last minute we got tickets to a military ball for my H's unit. We got the tickets yesterday and within that time I had to get a dress and put an outfit together. I am having a friend come to do my makeup and hair this morning. I am slightly excited but very nervous. I am not a people person. I like my own little bubble. #helpp

Any good ideas to help DS's raw little butt? Right now we are rotating Diaper Doo, A&D, and Balmex. I'm hoping it's a little better by tomorrow, if not I'm willing to buy or make any home remedies you all can recommend. He is so pitiful and I have a feeling it's going to be a long night. He is all stuffy also. UGH.
I guess technically I should start a new thread for this week but I don't want my rant to be the first post.
I got an invitation to a kids birthday party. Via text. The parents are renting a hall because the kid is turning 5 and they wanted to have a nice party for him. Yet, the invitation arrives via text message. The text message/invitation asks for everyone to wear a teenage mutant ninja turtles shirt to go with the theme. Why should I spend money on shirts for your party when you can't even spend a couple bucks for invitations and postage? Oh and they want us to RSVP a month ahead of time... Via text I assume?
All of this has earned major side eye from me.
I agree. I'm all about "old fashioned" (meaning paper) invitations. I don't even like e-vites because I think they are thoughtless. But I'm sure I'm in the minority with that! I say go if you want, wear whatever you want (even if it's a green tee shirt I think that's close enough!)

Air dry. Could be messy but I've found it to be the best
Taking my little one out in public lately has ended in the equivalent of wrestling an earthworm! It kills my back when the wrestling begins and it's not somewhere she can safely toddle around! But she's so freaking cute, and she's an awesome hugger,so oh the places we will go!
Well the show was alright. However we only got 5 sales...haha made about $80. There was too much shiny jewelry surrounding us...lol
I think you have great products but you need to display them better. Are you doing another show any time soon? If so, maybe I can give you my two cents. I did many shows in NY when I worked for an importer.
I would take any tips that you would like to share. I had more ideas, but with D getting the flu. We didn't leave the house all week.
deeds1017 I haven't paid to get another booth. I need to sell what I have on hand first. Then I might do the next show which would be in June.
I gots lots of complements. I also had about 25 people take business cards. I feel like that's a good start, but you are right. I need to some more eye catching displays.
I'm also going to dabble in making amber teething necklaces and "Mommy & Me" matching items.
deeds1017 My friends do the same and it makes me crazy. I got an evite to a wedding. Now I'm not saying you have to spend hundreds of dollars on fancy debossed, foil lined cards but send something.
Thanks for asking. I knew via my mommy sense that the Dr. was wrong diagnosing "a bad cold" for DD. Sure enough she got worse and worse so I took her in again on Saturday. Guess who the on-call Doctor was? Yup, same lady. Picture me in Mama Bear mode in there saying "hi again" LOL. Anyways, diagnosis is sinus infection. $40 and two visits for a $2 prescription that has made a world of difference already.

I think your sign is adorable and the price signs should not be blocking any of it. For next time, I'd probably go to the dollar store and get little frames to put the price in. Or I might even skip the price signs all together. If you put all the information out there, people are already debating if they want to spend that amount of money on your products without even seeing them up close. If you don't have the prices displayed, it gives people a reason to stop at your table and start a conversation.
As far as the ponchos. you have a great product, and have put so much work into them, but unless someone stops to go through the rack, they can't/won't see that. Plus, again, they're already debating if they want to spend $40 on one. Have Delaney model them and take pictures of her. You can then display those pictures in cute frames. Your table doesn't really have any type of 3d element to it. Everything is laying flat on the table. If you plan on doing more shows, you might want to invest in a mannequin or think of another way to show a poncho with a full on view. Maybe a helium filled balloon? I think your ponchos have hoods-- you could put the hood over a balloon (as if it is wearing it) and do a few different colored balloons. Same with the baby legs. They're very popular, but people need to see things. Not all people are visual people.
Thanks for all the advice. Half the problem was lack of room. I was going to put up a display poncho, but there was no room for it
Well both speech and OT wants to see her once a week as well. OT said that the problems she is showing appear to be neurological in nature. So we get to spend 3 hours in Tuesday in Therapy.

Just curious as to why they want to start speech therapy?

Because she has 0 words, barely babbles, doesn't mimic, and is not picking up on sign language. She was actually let into Early intervention because of a 60% speech delay. Now we are just getting more aggressive.

Oh ok. I guess I was curious because dd says no words, but does babble and is just now trying to actually say things. I am glad you guys are getting a move on things. Hopefully your dd makes good progress!

Yes it's more than just actual words that is the issue. They also might get her in to see a Food specialist, because she has choked very badly at least 6 times since December, and I have to do the Heimlich maneuver on her twice. So she will probably need a swallowing study as well.
