Hi ladies! H and I found out last night we are expecting baby #2. I'm a 31 year old SAHM to our very lively 2 yr 7 month old daughter. I am a certified teacher and am certified to teach K-6 and Special Ed. The last year I taught was the 2012-2013 school year. I've been home ever since. H is a teacher also and teaches Science and Social Studies to 3rd graders.

A little more about me... I was born and raised in PA, but have lived in FL now for going on 8 years. I lived and taught in Philly for a school year and loved it. I am a loyal Grey's fan no matter how much they screw up the show. I can't wait for the new Gilmore Girls to be released. I make quiet books and do other small sewing projects. I would love to do Design on a Dime on my house. I'm about to become a first time homeowner with H. We close on March 14th.

I've been looking into making a quiet book for some time now, but get overwhelmed thinking about the options. I'm not a sewer by any stretch, and have a habit of starting projects and never finishing. Do you sell yours?

So far I've made 2 1/2, I say that because I made DD and her cousin both one for Christmas, but ran out of steam when I had to finish the button holes and last few pages for DD's. Hers is still waiting to get finished. I haven't sold them yet, but have been told I should. I just need to find the time to make them. It is a very time consuming process.

I have hypothyroidism... Diagnosed when I was 17.

I have hypothyroidism. I was diagnosed in September of 2014. I originally though I had PPD, but found out after testing it was my thyroid. I am very nervous about being pregnant with Hypo because all my research says if your levels are not monitored closely you can miscarry. I'm trying to get an appointment to check my levels ASAP. How soon did they check your levels once you found out you were pregnant?

So I was diagnosed 11 years ago.. my levels have been pretty steady since then.  With my first they did check mine right away at my request.  With my second, since I didn't have any problems with my first, they'll wait until my normal first appointment.

untaggablekatie My SIL had two pregnancies while being hypothyroid. She has 2 beautiful kids, my niece and nephew. She told me they might not check my levels the first month. So it may be normal then if you did the same?

That's what I'm thinking... I think they checked mine the first time for sure and then a couple of times throughout and that was it.  As long as your levels are in the right range you're o.k. 

I think they slightly changed my dosage during my first, that's normal too. Pregnancy involves hormones.. lol

Congrats! I also have hypothyroidism (discovered during IVF cycle #2). I've been taking Synthroid since December.
