So, we are putting in an offer next week on this awesome historic home... The seller's realtor said the owner is really attached (it was in the family for 50 years) and actually suggested we write a letter. Apparently she has turned down other offers that were a little higher than what we were thinking, but the seller's agent thinks we have a shot if the owner knows we appreciate the historic character and we're not going to just gut it. We're also both architects and want to raise our family there, etc.

So I'm not getting my hopes up... But stay tuned!
That's so cool. Where I live it's mostly all track homes and I hate it. I'd love a chance to buy a historic home.
To zoo, or not to zoo? That is the question. Yay: the weather is supposed to be 70 today and it would be nice to get A out and do something different for a change. Nay: I'm sure 50,000 other people have the same idea I do.
We are babysitting for a few hours this morning, a 7 month old and a 4 year old. I got the 7 month old napping and the other kids are playing.
This afternoon we have a birthday party for our nephew. Today is also my mom's birthday. We won't be able to see her until next weekend at a different nephew's birthday party. So we'll have to call her once the babysitting kids leave.

This is so cool! It reminds me of Under the Tuscan Sun when the lady didn't want to sell, but then a bird poops on Diane Lane's head and she takes it as a sign
FX for you! If it works out, I would looove to see pics
H is hosting his annual guy's weekend. DS and I are here too lol. I don't go to the activities with them, but I stopped trying to vacate the premises a few years ago. Pass me a beer fellas!
We had pizza for lunch and now I want nothing more than a big soda. But we have none. I'm considering going to the grocery store when A wakes up just to get a soda! Or maybe I'll drive through somewhere and get a fountain drink. We ended up not going to the zoo so we could do the park this afternoon. Hmmm decisions, decisions!

DD is apparently still very much on a two nap schedule which is great because she's well rested and cheerful but dammit those two naps take up the whole day!! I want to enjoy the weather outside and I need to make a dreaded weekend Costco run! Sleep faster, kid.

My IL's set a moving date for next weekend. They built a house right next to their old one and no one is moving into their old one. Apparently I am the only one who thinks it's a little funny they set a date. They could be moving in now for Pete's sake.

Do they have movers coming to help or something? If so it makes sense. If not, then yes it is a bit strange.

Nope. And they maybe have 4 pieces of heavy furniture that they will need help with. Other than that, they could load things into the tractor bucket/on the 4wheeler/into their vehicle at any time and travel the few feet to their other house.
