After my shower this morning, I noticed some sharp pains in my left side and under my ribs that is now sort of dull pain in my lower abs. I plan on calling my OB once they open just in case, but any tips on helping with (possibly) gas pains? I tried some Tums earlier but they didn't do much.

Under the ribs is one of those annoying things that could be anything from a pulled muscle to your gall bladder acting up unfortunately Sorry that's not very helpful. Hopefully it's only the pulled muscle! (I went to the out of hours doctors once for what ended up being a pulled muscle... but because of the location we really thought it was something serious :/ ... not my proudest moment...)
So the good news is, gall bladder pain would be felt in the upper right abdomen, usually radiating to the right shoulder blade or right under the breastbone. The pattern of your pain doesn't strike me as anything serious, but for sure call your doc if you're worried. It's probably has pains, as you have suggested.
When I get up high gas pains like that, it helps me to lay on my stomach for a bit. For some reason that helps...move it down? I don't know but it always seems to help. So I guess my advice would be to try that, assuming you're still able to comfortably lay on your stomach.

hehehe good point. I was thinking left for me so that would be right for the person themselves. duh. Carry on!

Got a call back from the nurse who said it's probably just gas. Though she said that after I said they felt sort of like gas pains (she also asked me twice if I had been seen there before and asked four times when my next appointment was, so I'm not feeling 100% confident she was listening to me). Hopefully it is just stupid gas and I will feel normal later when I can stretch out at home!
