I still need to schedule DDs 12 month blood work and my a/s. All of this is happening too fast. I can't even.
MH called me on the way to work this morning to impart this wisdom on me "I just finished listening to that Counting Crows song. Mr. Jones is totally about his dick, I'm convinced. " Thanks babe. Wouldn't have made it through my day without that little tid bit.
Super glad that Trump is predicted to win the nomination too. I just want to be able to understand the people who are voting for this idiot.
I have to not even think about the election or I get legit depressed. I have people on my Facebook who are trump supporters who I really liked previously and now I'm like what an idiot,

Jack got blood work after his 9 month appt, I had no idea little babies had to get blood work! He had 3 vials drawn, he did great but the tech drawing the blood was visibly upset at having to draw blood from such a little baby.
I have some major mom guilt this morning, H forgot to bring the baby monitor into our bedroom when he came to bed last night. I woke up to Jack screaming bloody nursery this morning, no idea how long he was crying but he seems a little traumatized. He does not want to be put down at all this AM.

If Trump and Kanye get in a private jet and head over the Bermuda triangle, I'd be all the happier for humanity this week. And if a single seat plane is all that's available, please let it be Trump.
I have the grossest sinuses right now. I won't describe my symptoms but it's gross.
I need to get moving to get out the door on time. I was perfectly on schedule Monday and then I found frost all over my windshield so I was set back a few minutes and showed up for my 7:30 job at 7:35. My boss never says anything but I hate being that person almost every day.
We did our taxes yesterday and I can't wait for the return. We're getting new carpet in our bedroom then the rest will go to doctors I'm sure. My excitement abput it proves I'm an old person. I just want a nice room for when this kid arrives.
beebe918, I can't believe how many tests are required for these kids. I also really wish that the pediatrician did the blood draw at her office, but no I have to take my kid to LapCorp. That's probably why I'm holding off. I'm pretty sure this is going to be some type of epic disaster. I also haven't figured out what schedule the pedi is following for vaccinations so I'm not sure if she's going to need 4 or 6 at her next appt. If it's more than that, I'm going to have to separate them by a week or two. She does not tolerate well.
I'm so grateful for the advances in medicine and technology available to us, but JC.
cabbagecabbage, I'm still trying to convince myself that Trump has actually been planted by liberals to demonstrate to the Republican Party how big of ass twats they've been, and that he'll do something horrifically egregious during the general election that I guess .... Hillary will win? I guess she's better than Bernie.... Right? This IS depressing.

I'm totally fine with Hillary or Bernie and will fully endorse whoever gets the nom. I don't want to have to move to Canada if this batch of Republicans wins. Like, Jeb was one of the "good" options. ::shudder::
cabbagecabbage, I'm so confused by the republican nominees though. Like... 80% of your party is moderate. Don't you guys realize you would do so much better if you stopped pandering to evangelicals? No? You're going to keep pandering? Okay. Have fun. My father is a straight up "Obamas trying to take my guns" conservative and even he called me and said WTF is happening?
I don't mind Bernie as a politician, but I just don't think that the ideals he's using to attract the young vote are things that he can actually make happen. Plus, IMO college shouldn't cost as much as it does, but I don't think it should be free.

I'm not a republican if that's what you think. I'm like 99% in line with Bernie but disagree on gun issues. By "good" republican candidate, I meant "least terrifying."
Are the republicans pandering to evangelicals though? Serious question, educate me. My parents are very religious and don't support Trump. I'm confused by anyone who claims to be a Christian and supports Trump. I'm embarrassed to say I went to Liberty university for 2 years and they recently had Trump speak at convocation. Like what? He's not what anyone would consider a good Christain IMO.
I usually vote 3rd party. Gary Johnson for lyfe. I'm torn this election between voting third party and hoping this is the year GJ finally gets 5% of the vote or voting dem so as to do everything I can to prevent a Trump presidency.
I'm extremely intrigued by Bernie. I feel like his ideas are so far left that I'm interested to see what he will accomplish if elected. Like maybe something so different is what we need?
cabbagecabbage, Oh no. I didn't think you were. I was just agreeing that the republican candidates are terrifying and if they were more moderate it wouldn't be so bad.
beebe918, The way I see it is that most Americans are moderate or liberal on social issues. However, everyone who runs for office seems to be hardline conservative. I know a lot of people who would probably vote Republican if they didn't come out so hard as anti-choice/anti-gay/other shit I'm forgetting because I didn't get enough sleep.
Personally, I like the idea of less government involvement. But you can't say "I don't want government interfering in my life! Because I'm a straight man. Please dictate to the women and the gays though. That seems fair."
Bernie makes a lot of good points. People who work 40 hours a week shouldn't be on welfare. A part of that is a systemic problem that comes from a lack of education. Not college education. High school education. I disagree with free college tuition because that's one of the main reason people go into the military in this country. It's basically the number 1 incentive. But we do need to fix the tax code, we do need to make this a country that supports women and mothers. Idk. I have a lot of politics opinions. I could go on for an unreasonable amount of time.
How much support Trump is getting scares me. But Cruz scares me even more. Trump isn't an idiot, and I think he says things to get a rise. He will probably become more moderate if he gets the nomination. Cruz believes all the things he says which is worse. Rubio seems to be the best of who is left, but I don't know if that says much.
I'm very much a democrat and can get behind much of what Bernie says. However, I'm not sure how realistic his goals are. I don't love her, but Hilary will probably get my vote as she had a lot of experience, esp foreign, and there are a lot of scary things happening in our world so experience has to help.
The unfortunate thing is the president really doesn't have much power. He/she had to get past Congress which is a joke (they should be fired).
But everyone, please don't vote 3rd party - do what you can to keep crazy Trump out of office!
Is Cruz really preferable to Trump, though? I have a hard time figuring out who the lesser of two evils is (although I would rather cut off any and all appendages before voting for anyone with an "R" behind their name at the moment.)

You beat me to Cruz!
I agree with all your points. I like Bernie, but most his ideas are non-starters in Congress and I think will sway the majority even further right. He hasn't backed up any of his numbers behind his potential policies.
My ideal scenario is that Cruz will get the Republican nom, Trump will run as an Independent, therefore splitting the Republican vote and allowing Hillary to win by a landslide.
I really wish there was a viable 3rd party. I mean the founders are rolling in their graves. They always said that a 2 party system would be a disaster and Lo and behold.
The fact that Cruz actually believes the shit he says makes me question the American education system. But at the same time, Trump acting like he is the savior of all things is ridiculous. I see myself voting for Hilary and then a lot of Senators with Ds after their names. I'd do basically anything to avoid another conservative justice to replace Scalia.

I really don't know who is the worst but I watch coverage with one eye cringing. This is the world our babies are being born into. I know, for sure, my rights as a woman are worth more than caring about college tuition right now. I don't see that going anywhere right now anyway. But the next SCOTUS justice is really important to me and if melty face Cruz picks, I'll be absolutely sick. What's weird to me is my mom and so many of her friends were such hippies and cared about social issues and now they're all "my money!" and falling for extreme conservative scare stories. As the boomers die out, will the tides turn?
Husband is out sick today. Luckily it isn't because he has a cold it is because his ibs is acting up. I feel bad for him but I am really glad he won't get me sick!!!
I see one of the big problems that the Democratic Party is having right now is that the "young" vote is pulling for Bernie. Bernie can't win a general election. Bernie has policies that can't be supported. But some of the same people who are saying they would vote for him can't name the current VP or what the 3 main branches of government are. That terrifies me too. People are buying into a lot of this bullshit because they don't get how the government works.
I'm annoyed with boomers who used to be liberal and are swinging conservative. Listen. I'm pissed that half of my paycheck goes to ineffective social programs. I despise that we make enough to be put into a penalty tax bracket (because that's what it is. It's a penalty for making more regardless of the 80+ hours a week MH works.) But I hate it more that people who make more than us can basically buy exemptions and end up giving up a lot less. I would rather give up half of the money I make than have someone in Washington dictate what I can do with my vag. I would give up half of what I make if it meant that the people in my state would have better access to healthcare and education. If it meant that the mothers in the town I grew up in didn't have to work 2 jobs and could actually afford to spend time with their kids. Right now, that's not happening. A lot of programs are ineffective because there's so many roadblocks.

I will be going into the OBs office today because I am basically throwing up everything I have eaten since yesterday. I called my OB and mentioned possibly eating the prepackaged lettuce that had been recalled for listeria but that I probably just need a refill of my Diclegis. Well they want me to come in for a blood test and a stool sample to rule out listeria first.
Yay... I am bummed that I have to do this but I guess it's better safe than sorry, especially with listeria.
I really wish there was a viable 3rd party. I mean the founders are rolling in their graves. They always said that a 2 party system would be a disaster and Lo and behold.
I am so opposed to our 2 party system and I think this election is really illustrating the problems. Bernie is so far left and the whole lot of the reps are so far right Hillary is the only thing even close to being somewhere in the middle. I wish there was wider representation.
Eta: rungirlrun I feel you on not voting third party, but I feel so strongly that our political system would be better served by more choices and I feel like there are probably others who feel the same way. i hate the strategizing like I'm going to vote this way to keep this from happening, I want to just vote for what I believe in.
Lol at melty face Cruz. Totally agree he is not preferable to Trump. I feel like I have an easier time seeing how people can support him bc he's at least a politician?
My random (maybe more of a vent): holy shit to my night last night/ morning today. My toddler has absolutely lost her mind for some reason and has turned into a screaming banshee that you cannot do anything with. I'm hoping this is molars and those fuckers actually come through this time so we can move past this, because my nerves can't handle this right now!
I have some major mom guilt this morning, H forgot to bring the baby monitor into our bedroom when he came to bed last night. I woke up to Jack screaming bloody nursery this morning, no idea how long he was crying but he seems a little traumatized. He does not want to be put down at all this AM.
I did the same thing last night and woke to a screaming little girl at 330am i was very confused why the monitor wasn't working cause i completely thought i brought it into the bedroom last night. Pregnancy brain?
I hope your toddler can find some relief soon TnT10 for your sake as much as hers!
All I will say re: politics is is that I do not envy you guys. it is also scary being Canadian right now since your politics affect our country quite a bit. It's basically just sitting in a car with no brakes and no steering wheel wondering how bad the crash is going to be.
You are all welcome to join our multi-party government Country however this plays out. Just bring Trix. We have ketchup chips and poutine.
