frecklesnbrains, overwhelmed again. I refuse to buy things there. I just can't do it. It was disorganized and just too much. Online shopping it is for me.
95% of my purchases for DD are bought online. So much easier to browse and compare things that way!
This. I'm depending heavily on Lucie's List and Babygearlab for reviews and recommendations, then put everything on an Amazon registry. We only went to Babies R Us to look at and test in person some of the big ticket items, specifically strollers and car seats. I ignored the remaining 95% of the store.

Work question- I got an email today that my basically dream job has posted (with another company) do you think it would be ridiculous to apply when I wouldn't be available to start til September? It's with the city, so they do tend to take a long time to fill positions, but I'd hate to put a black mark on my "record" that I wasted their time when I wasn't available.

As long as you're open about your situation from the get-go then I don't think it can hurt to make an inquiry! Depending on how urgently they need someone they may be okay with waiting for someone who is the right fit. If they're not willing to wait that long then they don't need to bring you in for interviews and you really wouldn't have "wasted" their time.

Not at all. I have done the same thing. The place I applied understands the situation and how long it takes to get credentialed and such. There is no harm in applying.
2dogs2kids No I had low levels with ds so this is a new thing for me. My test is Monday so I'm making a point not to have second dinner tonight and just sticking to water.

I would apply, the public side takes forever to hire, so September might not be that far away from their ideal date.
woodengirl07 I agree with the others, not ridiculous at all! Pregnancy and maternity leave is a very temporary thing and finding a great employee who is a good fit is something that is much more long term. Just be upfront with them and I'm sure they'll appreciate your honesty. Good luck!
mladerri well good luck! It's pretty common to fail the 1hr test. I failed it and then passed the 3 hr with DS. I'm not going to lie I thought the 3 hr test sucked, but some people don't seem to mind hopefully it's not too bad for you.
My OB when I had DS made everyone do the 3 hour test, so that's all I know. He said the 1 hour test didn't give enough information and there were lots of people who had to 3 hour test anyway so everyone got to have that experience.
At my new OB practice, I'll get to do the 1 hour test and I was told I don't have to fast. I don't understand that, but I'm not complaining.
