We're supposed to be going to visit my ILs in West Palm Beach the first week of April and because of the Zika virus I'm not sure I'm going to be allowed to go. DH's uncle is a pediatric infectious disease doctor and he said the way things are looking right now I'm most likely not going to be able to go. Anyone here live there? If so what are your doctors telling you? Just curious!

I don't live there either, but the note hanging in the waiting room and all the exam rooms said to make sure you talked to your dr if you had travel planned to the Caribbean, Latin America, or South America. Florida was not on my doctor's list as of yesterday.
We are going to Hawaii in mid April, a part of me is nervous and then the other part rationally knows that there is still so much research that's needs to be done that it isn't worth worrying about. I will make small adjustments (repellent in the evenings) and talk to my Dr., but that is about it.
I'm with danizee on this one. Flame away, but are going to a resort in Mexico next week. There are no cases in the region we are visiting. This trip has been planned since September. We've read a lot about it and the link between the virus and the birth anomalies is not clear. Basically, only Brazil has this issue. I would not go to Brazil..
I will be taking all the precautions thought and bought tons of insect repellent and the OFF little machine. My midwife didn't seem that bothered by it. There are no extra follow ups necessary if you travelled to a region with Zika here.
ETA: I feel like I have more chance of getting sick while eating salad or cantaloupe for example with the latest recalls we had here.

I live in Florida (but not that area). I wouldn't worry at all. All of the cases of zika in Florida were acquired outside of the United States. The mosquitoes aren't typically bad in April, either. I would honestly be shocked if there were travel advisories against Florida by April.
